Since I have collected all cars possible without jumping through Turn 10’s random hoops, I have been in the auction house a lot this week. Has anyone else noticed that there are a group of people (I won’t call them players) that are buying most if not all cheap versions of the Forza Edition cars? It is next to impossible now to find a Boss 302 Mustang, a Cadillac ATS-V or a Ford Pursuit Ute for less than 8 million credits. If a cheap copy does become available, they quickly bid it up into the 8-10 million range.
Since the auction house was my only viable option to complete my car collection without waiting months/years for them to be available in random events, I guess that option no longer exists. Is this something that Turn 10 is comfortable with? Is this something that is known but not spoken about, as it is impossible to find any discussion on this subject on this or any other Forza forum.
I have been playing Forza since the release of Forza Motorsport 2, and the recent decline of the franchise is quite depressing.
I have noticed this also. The same behavior occurred in FH3. I don’t think it was as noticeable in FH3, because they didn’t “lock” the cars like they do in FM7.
The ridiculous thing is, those people don’t need the money in the first place. They obviously have a lot money just to buy the cars (a minimum of 200,000 credits), then they sell for a ridiculous price in order to make more money. Unfortunately, who buys and sells which cars, can’t be controlled.
Thank heavens that in FM7 it’s easier to earn money and the prices seem to be less, because if it escalates to FH3 levels, and in FM7 you can auction a car for 90 million provided you have all the bonuses, it’s gonna be terrible for anyone jumping in late enough to miss all these cars.
At 20 million a piece and Goliath netting 1 million/hour, it’s almost as though you can’t. I want to do fun stuff in the game not grind and flush money down an abuser’s toilet.
I’m not talking about FH3 but none the less the principle is the same, if there were no AH you wouldnt be able to get the car at all and somehow you find that preferable. If you dont want to pay the asking price, that’s fine, but dont complain that the option is there for other people.
The problem isn’t so much the price as it is the fact that few people have the privilege of setting higher prices than normal. So it’s not a free market.
If I magically acquired Ralph Lauren’s Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic and wanted to sell it, I’d be able to do it for the same price as Ralph Lauren himself even though I’m nowhere near as famous as he is.
I had a Boss 302 up for Auction since receiving another one in the FRC stream. It was up for a solid ~8 hours, bidding got up to around 7.2m. Was the cheapest one at the time, some of the other prices of 10m + were a bit ridiculous.
Rare cars sell for more credits. Regardless of wether or not the players bidding on them came about their wealth nobly or otherwise. Ever watched a real life Barrett Jackson auto auction? Or seen a concourse like Pebble Beach? People with money to burn spend millions in real life to own something rare. The whole point of the auction house is to provide opportunities for common and rare cars to be placed up for sale by players. The more rare the car, the more attention it gets, and the more players drool thinking about owning it. No one is interested in the 97 civic for sale because it is obtainable any time. FE cars are not, therefore supply is limited and demand is high. Simple economics.
Indeed. But that’s just FE car. In Horizon there is plenty of non-HE unicorns with low max buyout allowance for regulars. In FM7 I haven’t seen any of the unicorns for sale yet except for the 991 RSR which some people have more than one of.
Go talk about Horizon in the Horizon section, all bringing up Horizon does on a Motorsport topic is confuse the issue. Which is mainly that having an AH with prices you think are too high is still better than no AH where you cant get the car at all.
Not just HE cars so many regular porsche selling prices insane right now.
For HE cars you can set high buyout prices. It’s kidna fair but, a group i don’t know how they can sell those cars at this price i can’t start auction more than 900.000 buyout but they can set 20.000.000 buyout. How it’s possible ?
You have to be a top seller of paints and possibly put a top selling paint job on it as well. T10 hasnt said how many you have to sell, so the numbers arent known. The irony is that almost all of the paint jobs they are selling, you can get for free in the storefront.
Elite Painters and elite Tuners ar allowed to set much higher prices in the AH Where youu can sell a car with a Value price of 10,000 for about 12,000 max they can sell this same car for 20,000,000.
I am one of the players who enjoys playing the game also as some kind of business simulation. I am not yet able to put the cars up for auction for max buyout, but i can use double buyout for normal cars. I can do that because i made a lot of liveries and some of them seem to be quite ok, so they get downloaded and used.
It is true…i dont need the money any more…but as i said, its part of the game for me.
And everybody can do that. So instead of complaining, just start to do some liveries and you can also participate. This was always a part of Forza. And by the way…every rare car is availabe for everybody…you just have to race in the league, do forzathon or rival challenges.
If you dont wanna do that…fine. But then, you have to pay for the cars. Simple as that.
And if someone still complains…e.g. the #911 RSR…at the peak, they went for 220k…even without any livery/tuning download bonus, you could sell them for 440k. So, with some small investment, there was a lot of profit to achieve. And then, invest in other cars…
Right now, i suggest you put Macans in stock. And the Chevy/Mazda FE…they sell for about 500k. In some weeks, they will go for a lot more. For the Macan… collect some and then make a deal wirh one of the big shots…you put them up as low as possible, big shot buys them and also some easy obtainableFE , e.g. a Corvette or Viper, for the price you agreed. Just use what the game offers you, in this case the message center.
I have 5 of them. I will sell them to you for $10 million CR each. (50% off) Still a lot of room there for profit using your logic. The only Porsche 911 RSR I have seen in the last week sold for $20 million CR yesterday.
Player markets are nearly always garbage. And there are always those who successfully exploit them and then claim everyone can do so even though that defies logic. One person’s profit is invariably someone else’s loss.
