HE Cars ruined auction house

These HE cars have ruined the auction house for selling normal cars. Cant sell any normal car there anymore cuz ppl only want he cars …thx turn 10 .

If you take notice there are alot of HE cars That don’t sell very well these days I dont want any of them because I have them all, same will go for alot of people. There are lots of cars you dont even see in the auction house which would always sell well. Things will change once Christmas comes along with a wave of new players who dont own many cars.

Without HE cars there wouldn’t be much reason to go to the auction house. About the only other point would be to try and get some of the overpriced millions of credits cars at a significant discount.

That, and the occasional unique car I missed (e.g., the Warthog) are the only reasons I ever go in there. I’ve never sold a car at auction in a Forza game. It just hasn’t interested me before. If the level-up wheelspins weren’t so crushingly stingy, I wouldn’t have even looked into what it takes to grab HE cars at auction. Once I learned the ropes, and how easy it is, I haven’t stressed over a wheelspin again. I have a bunch of them saved up for the next batch of HEs, but have little hope of nabbing them that way.

I’ve never had trouble selling regular cars on the auction house. Granted, if you’re expecting to get close to the list price, you’re not going to have much success, but most of the time bargain hunters will be happy to take them off your hands for 1/4 to 1/2 the list price. And with some of the 1+ million CR super/hyper cars (Veyron, Veneno, etc.), you can get about 85-90% of the list price since that still represents a savings of hundreds of thousands of CR for the buyer.

Before you list a car on the AH, do a search for it to see what they’re typically going for, then set your starting bid at or below that amount. Also, make it a 24-hour auction to maximize the time the listing is up, since most non-HE cars aren’t going to be sold in last-5-minutes bidding wars anyway.

I’ve sold numerous regular cars on the auction house. Just this weekend i offloaded a load of Holden Sandman’s. lol. Bought for 6k each, sold for 120K each. Tidy profit.
Easy way to sell cars is to see what cars are required for current events and sell them. Find out which cars are needed for the NEXT Forzathon, and buy a load cheap. Then when Forzathon is active put them up for sale.
If you are trying to sell cars you already have, try changing time of day and lowering price. Depending on the time of day you will sell different cars as different regions are awake. Also make auctions a decent length. If you put everything up for an hour nobody will have time to see it.

No Way… People can’t be that stu*** ?
They all own it, why would they buy one for 120k ?

Some people may want to own multiples of the barn finds, for different class setups, without having to switch the tune every time.

I guess some people must sell their barn find cars to buy cars they actually want…

Just look how many Maserati’s are listed - not that tens to sell these days…

But it’s pretty ridiculous to sell your barn find for 7K-20K, what’s the point ?
Selling unique cars just to get enough to buy an abarth ? lol

At the moment, HE cars aren’t selling all that well, either.

Truth to be told, for most players the AH used to be - and very clearly still is - a near-useless feature. And with limited sellout values, its utility for painters&tuners interested in releasing limited editions has significantly decreased, too.

I only have problems to sell cars that a lot of people received. And personally, when I want to buy a new car, I start to search in the auction house. And I often see people biding on cars I m looking for.

HE cars didn’t ruin the auction house. What ‘ruined’ it was being able to get designs and tunes for free outside of the auction house and being able to use other people’s designs and tunes when you’re auctioning a car. It’s still a useful feature if you’re a collector who wants all the cars or multiple copies of some cars. I have purchased over 150 cars in the AH and save an average of 33% over buying in the Autoshow. About 60% of the time I also get cars that are in a higher class than the stock version. Combined it has saved me somewhere in the neighborhood of 18 million CR’s over buying cars and parts through the Autoshow.

In my opinion the auction house ruined the economy in Forza Horizon 3.
Racing games usually fall under two categories, the games that simply throw money at you, so you can get whatever you want, Like Forza, or you have the games that start you off with like 5 grand, and no car, and you buy the cheapest PoS you can find, and actually make you work your way into better and faster cars, Like Gran Turismo. However, now that the auction house is back, they’ve decided to be a lot more sparing with the credits they give out, so they can keep this game’s “economy” Which would be fine except now there’s $10,000,000 cars that you’d need to literally save for months just to buy one of them.
The reason this works in GT is because the amount of money you earn grows exponentially, as there’s a proper progression system. However in Forza Horizon 3 you actually earn less and less money as you progress through the game, since your biggest source of income is those stupid wheelspins. The auction house basically killed the progression that Forza didn’t have a lot of to begin with.

I’d like to point out with most video games with some sort of economy or monetary system this is how pay outs work. NFS games with a money system also worked like this where the early races don’t pay much but the top-tier career races paying out significantly more. While those better paying races don’t pay enough to buy an expensive car, they pay enough to prevent grinds that can last over a month.

FH1 did this since there was a proper “progression” system; starting with FH2 they decided you could race any type of vehicle in any order. Thus you could bypass racing economy compact cars and jump to super cars if you wanted (entirely possible with a brand new game because of loyalty bonuses and pre-order cars). However, without that progression system of moving from the basic, “slow” vehicles to the top-end hyper cars, it appears they have decided to equalize payments so that races pay the same range always, period. This can be anywhere to just four digits worth of credits to around 30,000 if the circumstances played out right for you.

I remember the best paying, late career races in FH1 (which you can re-race) paid out around 70K-80K with all assists off and difficultly cranked up. It was still work to earn a multi-million dollar/credit car, but it wasn’t a grind that had to be measured on a calendar.

Most of my money has come from doing races and some rewards from Forza hub. Not from wheelspins.
I like having the 10 million fredit cars. It means they really are rare and you have to work for them. I have 25 million plus in race winnings so far, so i could have bought 2 of those expensive cars. That’s after what 2 months and not as much playtime as i’d like. Also i have to run some assists for injury reasons and i’m still making good money off the game. Wheelspins, rewards, winnings, whatever.

Whenever they start lowering the price of everything in game i lament the entitlement generation who just want everything right now with no effort. The more you work for something, the more you appreciate it. The same with old school games that had boss battles you spent weeks on. Once you bested them you felt like a god. Nowadays you finish the end of the game after 7 hours and just move on. there’s no sense of achievement. It’s pretty much the reason achievements and fake internet points were invented. To fool you into thinking you’re still achieving things. lol

This iteration of the Auction House is far from perfect, but it’s not ruined.

As someone from a generation whose first console was a Pong Machine: No. Beating difficult games didn’t make me feel like a god. It made me feel like I’d been put through the wringer, and as I got older I began to question the sense of having to put so much effort into what’s supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable hobby. Luckily, the overpriced cars are vehicles I’m not particularly interested in, so the lengthy grind to get them all would just be for the sake of completion.

I feel that way now. At the time, I just considered it part and parcel of the pastime. (Alliteration not intended.) A maze game I wrote for the Atari 400/800 was never meant to be finished. The idea was to get the highest score possible before dying. That was the mindset from the arcade days.

I would not want a return to that now. There is a push to make games grueling again too. (No, thanks; not for me. From Software, I’m looking at you.) However, I have no problem with games like FH3 requiring a time investment. Just the opposite–I want a rewarding long time in good games. If I don’t have the time for it, I’ll play something else until I do.

That said, I’m glad I can avoid the playground games and still get all the HE cars. Both my Raptor HE and Brat HE came from the AH.
