I hate the auction house

I have so many extra cars (even after giving loads away) I can’t sell because it’s like giving them away as I haven’t had 50k downloads of liveries or tuneups.

It’s such a ridiculous pre requisite of Forza. I’ve done a few liveries but they’ve only been downloaded a few times…maybe in 50 years I’ll be able to sell a Pagani for more than 20k.

Why can’t selling be linked to your overall rank? That’s something you upgrade by being involved & loyal in the game and doesn’t mean you have to slap Red Bull on all your designs.

Strip out mastery stuff if you want, and delete them. EZ.

Why can’t you auction stuff for whatever you want??? !!! ???

I’ve never seen an auction house system implemented like this in any game. It is so basic and limited and biases a select few players.

I can only speculate and assume it’s been implemented like so to prevent people irl selling cars then listing them for cheap buy out prices and coordinating with the buyer when they should buy it.

Yet another system that has been poorly implemented IMO for issues that have more cons then pros.

This is why I never really bother with the auction house at all. I agree that this is a ridiculous requirement, and I have to wonder why it made it’s way into the game once again.

Auction House prices are set depending on supply and demand. Consequently, if your 10 million Autoshow valued car can only be sold for 800k in the Auction House it’s because people won’t usually buy it for more. You aren’t losing out by not being able to sell it for more. It’s just stopping the AH being clogged up with overpriced cars no one wants.

Unless they improved it for FH5, that isn’t how it works in FH4. In theory it should do, but I found several times I had a rare car which I could only list for a low price. Rare enough that there were none on the auction house, so the price should have been up to 20m for all users if the system worked as (supposedly) intended. edit - I am referring to cars you can’t buy in the autoshow here as well.

The most toxic feature of the game. But… it generates playtime. Precious, juicy playtime to fuel Game Pass. So no, they won’t change it.

What? Bro that some weird imagination there. You are saying it like it’s the truth. But you know is just some made up stuff. So unless you bring something more believable your post will remain the only toxic thing.

The AH is also the only other method for non gold members to get the exclusives early and that is good. Also useful if you want to get your hands on those multi million cars relatively cheap. And why are people so obsessed with the legendary status? Putting a 20M price without any buyers is useless anyway and the only cars that could be sold for that money are so rare that don’t require a legendary status.

Thanks for the compliment, yes I do have a fertile and sometimes weird imagination, but people gaming the popularity system to become legend and using macros on PC to snipe cars, both of which boost Game Pass’ engagement metrics, is unfortunately the cold and harsh reality of the AH.

Ferrari Superfast in FH4 you can sell for 1 million, they can sell for 20 million, its actual market price.

I just tried to auction another of my rare cars in FH4 as I noticed I had two Toyota Truenos. None on the auction house at all and it’s much in demand but I can only sell it for a grand total of 288,000 CR. Needless to say, I will hold onto it, and this is why there are none for sale in the auction house. It’s far left economic policies which have also brought shortages in the real world whenever price controls have been tried. I guess they aren’t teaching the right things in Western universities any more.

Picked a bad week to sell the Trueno. I’ve been looking for one for months, checking almost daily, and never one in the AH. But, this week, it’s in weekly Forzathon shop for only 400 points.

Yeah the auction code is bad, needs improving.

Unless FH5 is different to FH4, that isn’t true. I just looked on FH4 and I can only list some of my very rare, non-autoshow cars for a million or so. Cars which are currently not listed on the auction house at all. These would sell for 20m rapidly if not instantly.

For exclusive cars, it’s not a perfect system. In FH4, ultra rare cars (Capri FE for example) got stuck at really low prices because they were never sold (partially because the max buyout meant there was no value in doing so). I don’t know if they’ve improved that in FH5 as I haven’t spent much time in the AH.

However, for Autoshow cars, which is what I suspect the OP was referring to, it works pretty well. Popular high performance cars tend to hold their value and sell regularly in the AH, whereas some of the expensive older cars just aren’t popular at all and have a low buyout.

I can’t prove. It but I did bought and sold a Ranger Raptor for 20M one day before it was available trough seasonal championship. The next day there were a lot of them in the AH and the price dropped to a million firs and then to a few hundred thousands. So there sure is a system that determined those numbers.

The same system existed with FH4, and has less than nothing to do with Game Pass.

It wasn’t perfect but the AH in the 360 FM games is still the best it’s worked.

The exclusives + wheelspins are more to blame for it than anything else I think though, back in FM4 with none of that + no painter/tuner levels a rare/expensive car that you couldn’t win from levelling up stayed that way, I still remember 1 guy used to consistently sell the 2 Chevy FLM09’s that you couldn’t get from the driver level rewards for a bit above the showroom price because he would put unique designs on them that weren’t available on his storefront and people bought them, myself included 1 time.

Unfortunately the whole economy in Forza isn’t as simple as that anymore though.

It worked well because the community was different. Much more meaningful engagement. Creators’ popularity was determined by quality. Lots and lots of people selling unique paints.

People wanted the AH back because they wanted to relive those days of FM4 and FH1. But Playground brought it back as something to feed into their unicorn system instead. That’s why it sucks.

Ranger was in Autoshow for 150 or so. People bought them for 300 from AH anyway.
Next week the FT car is Bentley 4 1/4. $4MM in AS. Up to 1.2MM in AH. THey’ll be 3 next week.
People go to AH rather than AS. Plus, popular cars like 22B, R34 (FH4) Trueno are hard to get, bring huge prices.
The tuner/painter 20MM thing is dumb Often see normal paint, or same paint shared free on car for 20MM. SHould be 1-off for that. Lazy.
I make a lot of credits off AH for fun. And stock cars for max price reposted and don’t sell maybe means lower price?? Like I dunno, real car biz?

I’m not sure which Ranger you are referring to, but the Ranger Raptor is not available at AS. I’m not a legendary but I still have a screenshot of me selling one for 1.6M while the max buyout is 556k now.
