What is happening with the AH? Tons of 2008 M3’s for sale at crazy prices even though it can be bought for a pittance in the AutoShow. Am I missing something?
Players are selling off cars and other assets because crypto currency and the global housing market is about to crash. This will have devastating consequences to the value of select cars in game. Basically you want to have credits opposed to assets (cars) when the global recession hits.
I need to get on that train ASAP, thank you for the heads-up!
Can I sell my hearing aids and badges as well?
There is an exploit going around and people are cashing in their garage as those exploiting are clearing out the Auction House. Values of every remotely desirable car is now inflated and the Auction House is as good as destroyed. Unless PGG can roll back the sales for 2 days, the game has lost one part that was fun. But with the way cars are transferred (thus the long delay in the final transaction of redeeming a car), I doubt this can be saved without harming progression made by non-cheat players.
PGG should have jumped on and closed the AH a day ago. I guess they don’t work weekends.
They dont work weekends
Either does forza support
Should just remove the auction house and put every car in the autoshow
Auction house has always had problems like this
There’s nothing wrong with the auction house apart from the way they have choosen to implement it.
So there is something wrong with it
You just said why
There’s definitely a lot wrong with the auction house. But the problem isn’t the concept of having an auction house. The problem again is how it’s been implemented.
To improve it is simple:
- Set a default sell price which is equal to the lowest priced matching car currently listed.
- Allow players to set min/max buyout with no restrictions
- Allow players to set auction period from short (12h) to medium (24h) to long (36h). The longer the period the higher the auction fee is.
- Allow players to auto bid on cars by bidding on a car with a max bid price. The auto bid system will then automatically outbid any bids by a small amount up to the threshold they set.
- If a car sells or a bid fails then send the credits/car immediately to the player in the mail which the player can collect in one click or to allow player to open all mail in one click.
- When searching/selling car show a list of all matching cars being sold, listed from cheapest to most expensive.
- Allow players to easily search for custom liveries and for liveries by elite designers.
- Sell the default autoshow model in the auction house so that if players try to sell the same model with no livery for more then it won’t appear as the cheapest.
- Update terms and conditions and state that auction house bots will result in a ban. Run an auction house detection program and do mass bans every 6 months as a deterent.
What I’ve desribed is known as the modern auction house system, implemented by most games except forja.
That alone is obviously already too much for them as they aren’t even able to show the actual tuner/designer ranking of the players in the AH. Since one year mind you!
Only every 6 months…should be at least once a month if not a week to run those bot checkers
Or just set it up like ebay…its not hard
When the bid updates immediately on bid
The reasoning is banning can generate noise such as complaints by players that they have been falsely banned which then requires an investigation bla bla bla. The alternative which I’ve seen in several big games is do one off mass bans every 6 to 12 months on obvious exploiters/cheaters then announce this publicly. It doesn’t solve the problem but it is a good deteriant. It also doesn’t require ongoing resources outside of the mass ban phases.
The M3 thing has been going on for weeks/months. It’s not related to the recent Super 7 challenge shenanigans.
In short the value is inflated because people have been using the M3 as a mechanism to transfer credits. Because people keep buying it out, it drives the price up.
I’m trying to sell mine but so far no luck I even put a funny sign on the car
That’s the thing. They’re used for transferring money. So unless someone else was exchanging something with you, it’s unlikely that someone would pay that ridiculous price.
That said, I would buy yours at full price if you would download and like my liveries and vinyl groups…
No point in requesting likes for vinyl groups, this has been broken since the game was released and is on the known issues list.
I’ll keep an eye out for your liveries though if you are trying to get the accolades?
You can get likes on vinyl groups… it’s the “uses” that’s broken. (And yeah… “known issue”)
To like vinyl groups you can go into garage->designs and paints->my vinyl groups and then you click on the individual vinyl groups and you can “like” them. (Not intuitive)
My gamertag is the same as my username (BravoSteelviper). Shoot me a message with your gamertag if you download/like my stuff and I’ll buy an M3. Appreciate any help on those accolades.
Ah, got the wrong broken one, uses not likes. Happy to help out with any of the above, don’t need credits as i’m maxed out. I should be able to follow you in the game and access your creative hub i think?
Will have a look later on this evening
Yep! Following is the easiest way I’ve found to access the creative hub. I think there’s other ways to accomplish it, but again… sometimes delving into the “not so intuitive” territory.
Thanks!
You can sell that BMW if you put on a good livery and are ready to put it through a few times. I’ve done it - not for the 12 million - but minimum bid 900,000 and I got a million plus on a couple of occasions.
I’ve done it too now Sold 2 so far
