Anyone jumped from an Elite controller 1 to a 2?

Great, thanks! Just ordered one.

I just picked up the V2 Elite. Overall it’s a great controller. Slightly updated feel compared to the first gen. Adjustable thumbstick tension is fantastic. If your V1 elite is still working I wouldn’t rush to replace it. I didn’t realize the trigger locks don’t work the same as the the first elite so the advantage of running without ABS using the lock is gone. Unless there’s a work around using deadzones. Anyone have any idea if its possible?

Me too. I didn’t have much time to test but as I expected Retro didn’t know the facts. For Forzas I probably stay with V1 because of much better grip.

I didn’t use trigger locks so it’s OK for me.

Overall V2 is better controller for many games but V1 is still the best for my racing gameplay. Don’t need more buttons, better paddles or anything else. And I use play & charge batter already.

Hopefully the grips are better. This is my 2nd one, and the grips are starting to peel off it too. I already exchanged one for this reason.

no trigger depth blocker, I call that regression, 3 different ways to modify triggers dead zones, I call that a support ticket generator. How such reaches production is a total mystery to me.

Are the paddles responsive when shifting? I was worried they might be too sensitive.

Paddles are much better. Smaller and tighter. Don’t know if it’s good for shifting, I use buttons.

I agree completely with your previous post. I’ll stick with V1 for Forza and use the new one for everything else. I just wish the V2 had come out before I started playing Fallout 4. I wore out the LB on my V1 triggering my V.A.T.S system. Oh well. Also as far as shifting with the rear paddles I think the V2 is much better. Different lengths now make it harder to mash the wrong paddle. And a better feel too when using them. More tension I guess. I like it.

Yeah. V1 is my best racing controller. Today I tuned my V2 and tried Battlefield. It was sooo good! The controller is great but I love the rubber feeling of V1. V2 looks like like cheaper one from the material perspective. So I will use V1 for racing and V2 for everything else.

Same conclusion, I will stay on V1 for racing. They indeed added some advanced management concerning the left thumb stick, allowing to have precision on the center and reaching max value faster when you need it but, for some reasons, they did not do that for triggers, only dead zones configuration, quite surprising since the logic is exactly the same. Possibly they keep it for later.

Would have been cool also to have a resistance physical setting like for the left thumb stick

I don’t find it cheaper look but the feeling in hands after few hours of game straight is less confortable on V2 than it is on V1. On the other hand, this new grip is expected to last longer than on the V1.

Overall, I have the feeling left stick new feature is COD game like oriented and triggers dead zones is being replicate of what already exists in Forza settings, possibly taken from it ( guess feature will disappear from next Forza games releases ).

If they had kept the physical only locks ( or choice between physical only or physical + auto dead zones) or added same setting feature than for triggers, it would have been a better controller for FH than V1, here, it is simply not.

i have had the v1 elite for quite some time. i am not a heavy handed gamer because of my hand disability. this is my 3rd v1. i had the same issue with the previous 2, left stick not centering or worn out. i bought the v2 on the day of release. wow, it made a significant difference. the adjustable tension is fantastic. everything feels tighter then the v1. first issue, which is only an issue because of my hands, is the paddles. way too small. fortunately the paddles from v1 fit perfectly on the v2. problem solved. i tightened up the response to the left trigger because i was having issues with driving. problem solved. i have button mapping as well. i went to settings and the program let me import the mapping. no problem to solve. i like being able to store 3 settings in the controller. it makes it easier to switch between games.

overall, i am happy with the controller. i would recommend it. one thing, it does weigh a bit more than v1. i do not regret my purchase.

Good it fits your expectation, just V2 is announced 20g lighter than V1

the difference could be in my head too. i don’t think the v1 paddles would make that difference. the buttons seem to be tighter as well.

After longer testing of V2 I think it’s better overall. The rubber grip is gone but there is some new plastic one which is even better but I am not sure how. The material feels much better than before. It was my biggest problem and currently I am very happy with V2. But my V1 is a bit sad now. At least you can buy your V2, it’s completely OK. Still V1 is for racing almost the same.
