100,000 likes for a design anyone? Seems impossible to me.

No…I’m working on it though im close to 25,000 uses for one of my designs.It will get there eventually it just takes time be patient.

It seems like my average is ~1 like : 10 downloads that means I’d have to get 1,000,000 downloads before I started to get close. Lol, I might have 2 or three paints that busted 100 downloads, so I’m on my way!

I got it a while back, I think it’s over all your designs not just one
I’ve about 1 paint which has tipped the 1000 downloads, 2500 uses but only about 900 likes, 1 which is at about 2000 downloads with about 5400 uses, about 1300 likes, and then my 13 Mustang GT500 which is at about 6000 downloads, 27000 uses, but only around 4500 likes, likes seem to be the hardest thing to pick up!
I give up painting. Unless you start a thread there’s no way your work will get seen. Plus you get next to nothing in return for all your hard work.

Its hard when you cant gather your work in your own storefront. I had the same thought as you, but then I thought for myself. Why do I paint? Cause its fun. In forza 4 and 3 I had quite some downloads on my cars, My top car now is my turn10 pick which is like 15 downloads, 4 likes and 30 uses :D, but it still feels good.

My main reason to paint is that I love doing it, and the instant reward is when you race in career against some complete stranger, sporting YOUR own livery. If you paint for the sole reason that you expect monetary rewards for doing it, the fun usually disappears.
Yes, I DO have a thread with my work, but it’s more to get others to get motivated to paint more NASCAR designs than anything else. For the same reason, I share tons of NASCAR sponsor logo vinyls so people can get started themselves.
After two months of playing FM5, my most popular livery has 757 downloads, 178 ‘Likes’, and 2080 uses. With some patience, I hope to reach that 100k ‘Likes’ milestone. I’m in no rush though. FM5 is not a game I try to rush through, but rather take my time to enjoy with a mix of racing and livery design.

Another thing that bugs me is how everyone downloads your work and doesn’t even bother to like it. You could spend months on a single car just for people to download and not even bother to like it.
All in all I had about 7 cars finished that I’ve been working on since day one. I got payed about 50,000 cr for like 4 months work. I just find it pointless. I could get that in 2 mins racing.
All my paints have been taken down. I’m painting for myself from now on.

Sorry to hear that the process has discouraged you. It’s a shame to see talented painters not get their work out there. But now you’ll get nothing at all for your new paints rather than something. It’s fun to paint either way, but wouldn’t you rather get something than nothing? And if it’s just a matter of starting a thread with your gallery or adding paints to the main gallery, why not do that? Surely in time you’ll hit a few home runs and come closer to meeting or meet your goals.
Just trying to encourage you… Keep your head up!
I will I’ll spend an hour or two in future on them instead of months. That’s all it’s worth. I’d rather keep a killer paint job than let it go for free to people that don’t even deserve my time an effort. Anyone that likes it, I don’t have a problem with.

Liking someone’s work is too hard, and I burn too many calories doing so.
Seriously? You can’t take a second of your time to like someone’s work that they have spent hours even weeks on for you to download for free?
This is why I’m painting for myself.
I was being sarcastic. I thought my silly “calories” statement would be a dead giveaway.
That’s crazy I put up the most simple design ever on day 1 or 2(black escort, white 5 point star rims, forza areo and a carbon fiber hood) and kept getting the “if it gets used more you will get paid” message for 2.5 months. Then one day i logged on and had $100k waiting for me from the design and ever since then I get $10k-150k every time I sign in(only 1 shared design). I can’t look at the # of downloads or likes because I’m waiting on a replacement Xbox. I just find it strange that such a simple design can make so much, and some of the most detailed/real life designs are getting no love from the community.
It’s because the new system sucks. Most of the good paints won’t get spotted and all the crappy and simple paints are still in the recommended or popular spots.
The whole system sucks. It’s a backwards step from forza 4 that’s for sure.
