My friends and i do a 35 mile lap around the outside of the whole island (with a quick run up and down the motorway too) as a race to test cars. There are sections for tighter handling, sections for speedier sweeping curves and the motorway to just open up in a straight line. The fastest car i’ve ever done it with is the Koenigsegg One:1. Then the other day i ran it in the Lotus Elise GT fully upgraded (AWD) but with no tuning adjustments, and i was only 1 second behind the Koenigsegg, easily my second best car and right there with it (1 second in a 12 minute race is pretty damn close). It didnt feel like i was going that fast and it didnt feel like a particularly perfect race, but the clock doesnt lie. This car most consistently runs those top times and the clock always surprises me based on how the race felt.
Is this car really a legit contender at the X level? Or as i really improve will the Koenigseggs and other hyper cars of the world really separate themselves? My feeling is that it just handles really well and my suits my skill level at the moment. Im not new to Forza, but do tend to historically do better overall times in cars that prioritize handling over power (its just more my style to be in control).
I do feel like the Porsche 918, the Kegg One:1 and Agera RS (the only hypercars that currently work for me) have greater potential for improvement and they just feel faster, but the Elise has more fast times and i havent even tuned it like i have a little with the others. Am i crazy? Or are there other people that think this car is actually good?
