I have a friend that relies on me for tunes. I can tune the Porsche’s so that i can run them faster than the BAC (over a long 35 mile, 12 minute race around the island) but he doesn’t like them. He just wants to use the BAC Mono all the time and drive like this is Need for Speed or something.
I feel like the BAC Mono is just TCS the car, and can’t seem to get other larger hyper cars to handle like it where you can basically drive sideways without losing speed and never spinning out.
Any ideas on how to make this work or is he dreaming?
Dreaming. The mono is amazing, and has a massively higher skidpad rating than any Porsche in-game.
Pretty sure nothing drives like the mono, but the Lotus GT1 smokes it in S2 (and handles better, although not as easily).
Haha, i thought so. I told him just to learn how to drive real cars.
Also, i literally posted a second topic right after this about the Lotus GT1 low key smoking everything at X. For some reason i’m faster in that than any other car in the game even though it doesn’t ‘feel’ nearly as fast to me. It does handle exceptional and im always surprised by the times. I did suggest that car to him as well and he seems to like it better than the Porsche’s. This Lotus really took me by surprise though i can’t figure out why its so fast when on paper it shouldnt be. Just suits my style i guess. Like my friend learning to drive real cars, as i get better im sure the Koenigseggs will overtake it one day, but right now im quickest in the lotus.
Hah, that is funny. And yeah, the Lotus is amazing. 1.67/2.28 estimated on the skidpad - best except the mosler, which isn’t nearly powerful enough in S2. By a decent margin too - next best I’m aware of is the F1 gt at 1.63/2.21 with a slightly worse power:weight ratio.
My best times are in the TVR speed in S2, on almost all tracks/surfaces/conditions. But not typically by much, and it really likes to go flying through the air.
Yeah the TVR Cerbera has always been one of my favorites, and i initially it thought it’d be my fastest. I haven’t cut them off at S2 yet, any of them that easily get to X i just max out, i only leave it at S2 if it barely can get to x. The TVR feels to be the most powerful through the mid gears im just struggling with the handling. The problem seems to be the tail whipping out and then i’m overcorrecting so i’m gonna tune it like my Porsche’s with a couple extra PSI in the front tires and more rear down force and see if that stabilizes it. At X , the TVR doesn’t compete with my Eggs, not even close. That damned lotus however, beats their times easily.
Over the 12 minute race (less now as the Elise GT1 was the first and only so far to dip under 12), the Lotus now has a time thats 23 seconds faster than my Koenigsegg One:1 (my 2nd fastest car - 918 and Agera RS are probably tied for 3rd), and the lotus never has a bad time. its blowing my mind.
I’m not a stud tuner or anything, but I gave up on my 918. I can’t get it right at all.
Well the couple adjustments above and it works pretty well. (+2 psi in the front tires, i think somewhere in the +50-75 on rear downforce) On the 911 GT3 i also adjusted the sway bars to correct the oversteer as well and it handles quite nicely for me without sacrificing any power. I just have to double check how much before i copy that on My 918 because i feel like its close, it could just lose a tiny bit less oversteer.
I’m not a stud tuner either, but that helped me for that car. Then again when tuning for friends i’m finding that it may not work, due to different driving styles. For me, i am more of an early breaker that doesnt drift much (i brake fully before the turn and try to maintain grip while accelerating through it), and i find the porsche’s to handle too well, and when i’d get on the gas to power through a corner the back end would whip out forcing me to correct back and then that would often whip back the other way too far and it would take too much work and time to straighten out, until i adjusted for the oversteer.
