BAC Mono tuning question

Before anyone complains no I am not asking for tuning it for online racing. I am tuning it for the career series track toys.

Those that tune know the importance of tuning your gearbox for the track you are at. I think I have run into an extreme case with the Mono. This is what I have found. The fastest acceleration I can get according to the data is by using a final drive of 2.81. The obvious benefit is pretty much no shifting as only 3 gears on almost every track. However that is extremely tall as the engine is noticeably weak below about 6000 revs and you are near, or actually just below the power band when you shift into 2nd and 3rd. I have shortened 3rd to eliminate the issue of falling just under the power band into 3rd but not 2nd. Here is my question. I have tested it for 3 days with no real significant lap time difference on many tracks. Is what I am doing worth it or is it a case of me putting too much stock into the in game data numbers?

Edit: realized I accidentally posted this in the wrong section unintentionally. If a moderator could fix that for me I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If it works out fine then I’d leave it be.

If you’ve tested for three days to no difference, don’t stress and go have fun
