I like cars from all eras but grew up lusting over 80ās 90ās non-American sports cars and American muscle cars - so I want all those (really I want everything). But, give me a bit of both.
NEW: Gordon Murry T.33 T.50 (dude who designed the '93 McLaren F1 made these and it/he still gets more respect than all modern Bugattiās as he, similar to Colin Chapman - creator of Lotus, only puts performance necessary things in cars - not make it to paint it gold and drive around Dubai to impress others - I drive/like cars for driving pleasure - not to impress others but to each his own - a REAL car person/driver knows what Iām talking about. Iāve driven a variety of performance cars over the years with various power ranges/drivetrains and the more fun to drive are always the lightest/most basic/shift yourself, low powered - ITS ALWAYS FUNNER DRIVING A SLOW CAR FAST THAN A FAST CAR SLOW IRL). If you insist on electros, how about the Rivian R1T (truck of the year)/New electric Hummers or trucks/SUVās or the Lucid Air (Car of the Year) which supposedly drives like a sports car.
OLD: Iām a rotor-head Mazda dude so I wish the 1st gen RX-7 was in (already modeled in Forza MS 7 I think?), or Mazda AZ-1 but realize most players could care less about a 1984 RX7 GSL-SE and content with selection of FC/FD 7ās and Miataās. A Citroen DS would be cool, too. Whereās the '84/85 Testa rossa/512? Why the 944 and 968 which is same car a few years later - whereās the Porsche 928? I know the answer. (I could go on and on),
Iām a car dude (and realize they are trying to appeal to as many as possible, many of which may play this game, have fun, but not the deep type of car-nut fun I have whether I do any events or not). I get just as much enjoyment driving a say a stock Miata across the map (G29, gate 10shifter/clutch PC) as I do a 1500hp hypercar with 12 speeds. I follow basic car rules - you wonāt see me put a like a 2000 hp V10 and AWD in a 60ās Ferrari, however, that ability to basically build the car/drivetrain/look you want with the customization options is still awesome.
I donāt have patience to do liveries but I highly respect the option and highly respect the artists as I always find what Iām looking for (I do real world vintage/classic race liveries, real factory trim levels, etc). BTW, if you download a livery that someone obviously put some time into, lift your tiny finger and hit the āLikeā button if you download it - itās like now people are too good to even do that (they now take all this stuff for granted since they were born into expecting all these cool features).
Iām not giving the devās a pass - my major issue is countless seasonal championships w/ no credit (and 1 or 2 points under the "claim reward/car I wanted). The internet is a blessing and a curse. When I started the devās made a cartridge/floppy to put on store shelf with no chance of fixing bugs/dlc/no online guides/no yt video to show you where that treasure chest is, etc and life was better and people were nicer. It seems we are beta testers for dev;s now but we bitch when it takes too long to release and if you are one of those that try to inflict digital or threaten devās because you didnāt get the purple cape in Destiny/Fortnite whatever those games are (not right games just examples) then you should probably get a real life.
Humans are humans, nothing is ever enough and they want it perfectly over night. Just 50-70 years ago you wouldnāt ever actually see most of these cars in color photos/only hand sketched or even know they existed.
Like I say with Gran Turismo series and Forza Horizon AS A CAR NUT- I would pay $1000 just for the game, its content, and what its capable of as $60 can be blown in 30 min with a hard drink/tip if I turned off game and went up to local bar and Iām on gamepass PC for like $10 promo as I couldnāt find the right xbox yet and did Halo Infinite and FH5 for $10 - thatās insane - MS is flush with worth (almost buy a console for GT w/ Sony as I literally have bought a new Sony console/wheel only when a new GT comes out - nothing against Sony - I buy ALL platforms always just not into Sonyās exclusives). I will accumulate over 2000 hours of entertainment before FH6 comes out and thatās easily worth the money (I would pay a grand for Skyrim/ES as I have put over 2000 hours in that one alone - think about how cheap that entertainment is compared to simply going to decent restaurant and movie and thatās ONE night).
I do agree, wouldnāt take much to freshen up some of the same year/models Forza has been cheaply carrying over game after game with the newer 2022/2023 styling of existing models. (Cherokee SRT with newer grill donāt count.)
These people usually get the car, max it out with unrealistic power/drivetrain, race a couple people, show it off, then never touch ever again before moving on to the next one.
