In my scenario Teredo is online - and to be sure, I do always run the xbox app’s connectivity test before launching the game, so that teredo resumes from dormant state.
It should be automatically done by the game on demand, but since I’ve tried literally everything, what else can I lose, I mean.
EDIT: Also worth noting that I see every drivatar in game as level 1. I don’t know if it’s intended or not but it could be related to not being online. It’s funny because I can still see drivatar names, download designs that are player made… but I can’t join Horizon Life sessions.
Days go by and I still have this growing feeling that this is a great game, only surpassed by the amount of bugs in it.
I’ve been having this problem for 7 days. When I connected to a customer representative, he told me that I could not enter online because he did not have xbox live membership on my computer. That’s incredible. Can these people be so uninformed ???
“20+x days ago the game released and this dns error prevents many of us to join online, whilst teredo is connecting without a problem, FH 3 online works fine, just like everything else. Not the developers, not even Microsoft or Telekom felt necessary to mention it, or post even a tiny forum announcement about this huge defect affecting many people. Time to admit that something is … up and fix it. We paid for a service which we can not use and is not working properly, the clock is ticking, days are passing and still no answers. Is being silent and sneaky really the best way to handle this?”
I think i’ll never buy forza again. The atmosphere of the game is awesome, but there is no support, not tested and the devs say nothing.
Hey guys,
I discovered something. Forza drains my whole Internet, so that ts3 does not work anymore and the xbox live app gets nothing anymore. before the start of the game I have an open nat with a 42ping, but as soon as the game is running the server is blocked and I have a ping of 360ms. if I tab out of forza and check the xbox live again from the status while the game is running only in the background (I have 2 screen) I have again an open nat and a ping of 42ms.
I have an XBox One and a Windows 10 PC behind NAT and I have experienced this problem.
I went through the Teredo troubleshooting, resolved a double NAT (my cable modem took a power outage and when it came back up it decided it wasn’t dumb anymore. I put it back in bridge mode), updated all my network firmware, disabled known disruptors like DPI and enabled uPNP. No luck, except for one morning I happened to be up early and discovered it worked just fine.
Until my wife turned on the XBox, and then I started getting regularly disconnected! I was delighted, because now I had some inkling of what might be happening.
I did some more digging and confirmed that you need a particular sort of uPNP configuration that supports NAT-PMP if you want multiple XBL clients (XBox + PC) behind a router via NAT, because XBL defaults to communicating over port 3074. This results in multiple clients on the backend all trying to respond to messages coming in from the world on port 3074, which causes the disconnect.
The money solution is to go buy a router that is known to support NAT-PMP for multiple XBoxes. There’s lists posted out there.
The time solution is to meticulously research and configure NAT-PMP for your router. GLHF.
The dumb solution is to block port 3074 at your router’s firewall. This will trigger XBL to try a different, random port for each client, preventing the collision/conflict.
I blocked the port, bounced my XBox and PC, and everything Just Works.
I hope that this helps some of you, I suspect it may do the trick for those of you who were able to connect via tethering to your phone, especially if you have multiple XBL clients behind NAT.
While it was worth giving it a try… still nothing. Blocked that port on my SagemCom modem/router (provided by my isp)… same results.
I’ve never seen a company ignore user feedback and requests THIS much. I think Hello Games are the only other studio that went full radio silent for quite some time.
This thread has more than 17k views, grows 1k each day or so… there’s no reason for it not to be a sticky and for the devs not to give ANY update. Once again: this game cost me 3.4x Shadow of the Tomb Raider in my local currency. Bought the ultra mega shiny deluxe edition.
Yeah, I bought that edition to get literally zero support on my ticket, and not a single word on trhe forums.
I have bought the ultimate edition.I have been experiencing this dns issue since the early access.I wrote 3 tickets, and all of them was labeled as solved, yet I still have this problem.Microsoft support did the same.I can only play the game with a vpn.
Someone contacted my ISP and only they gave an answer. The Hungarian Telekom said they are working with Microsoft to solve the problem.
I like the Forza series, but I won’t buy the next one either if they will not do something with this issue.
Just for the record, if you’re having UPnP working properly, that is not necessary.
NAT PMP takes place instead of UPnP on Airport routers made by apple or other routers that use that tech.
So if your router uses one, it won’t feature the other one, most likely.
In my case, the Sagemcom router Telecentro (my ISP) provides uses UPnP and it works flawlessly. It’s not the router for me - I was able to play for some days.
I’m pretty sure it’s related to win10’s 1809 update. Don’t have the evidence but I’m still convinced.
Feel the same. I lost my fate!
But yesterday night i reseted my network, teredo and router settings and tried the Avast SecureLine vpn, easy to install one click vpn service and now i can play online, but only for 9 day’s because it’s a trial version, so you have to pay if you want to use more than 9 day.
Haha horizon life just started working for me for the first time since game came out. And I didn’t do anything to get it to work. It started working all of sudden.
It gone back to not working again now. i cannot anymore. it is like how it was before giving me dns error. online was fun for the 2 hours that it worked for me.
but considering it actually worked even for a short time without me making any adjustments to my modem or windows, could this be a server load issues?
