Add tyre aspect ratio and show rim and tire size without upgrading

Currently the option to change your rim size is hidden when stock rims are fitted and will appear when you apply any other rim that isn’t stock.
This is very unclear and makes it seem that the option doesn’t exist. To fix this I would like the option to always be visible, but to be greyed out or locked when the stock rims are fitted. Maybe add a small text to it saying why it is not available too. This should improve clarity.

This topic was triggered by an earlier post:

Can we get tire spec info added to the detailed info? Having tire width is great, but I would like to be able to see the aspect ratio and wheel size as well, for calculating gear ratios.

100%.

The games have gone backwards over the years. Forza Motorsport 1 and 2 had much more information available.

Engine torque was re-added to motorsports finally. Specific engine names, year, make and model it comes from would be nice.

Having the engine dyno graph? It literally makes no sense to keep going backwards on games.

If you want to be able to change OEM rim sizes too, check out this topic:

All this from FH5 is dearly missed.

Tire aspect ratio information is no longer shown in the upgrades menu for tire width, tire compound and/or rim size. Example, 245/45R18.

Previous Forza’s have had this information and I personally use it to tune cars. Aka shorter sidewalls, sidewalls to tire height ratios, etc all affect cornering and tire flex.

Pretty disappointing this information has been removed for no apparent reason.

Please add this information back in.

Please bring back the tire size in the tire upgrade menu. Where it would be displayed as xxx/yyRzz.
It’s highly important for people who use a tuning calculator for their own custom upgrades and feel they like.
You can’t depend on other people, unless they make a tune that’s fast to your driving style.

The game terminology has some people confused. A wheel is a combination of the tire and the rim. They talk about upgrading wheels, but should be termed as rim. A comment was made about getting tire size off the tire upgrade page and the wheel size off the wheel upgrade page. The tire page gives us only the width, while we need also the aspect ratio. The wheel page gives the “rim” diameter. What people in this discussion are asking for is the ability to determine the Wheel Diameter That is the overall height of the wheel and rim combined, myself included, in order to facilitate the use of the many transmission calculators out there. Without the full tire specification the diameter/height of the wheel cannot be determined. This information was available in past versions of this game. But, for some unfathomable reason, it no longer is.
