There are a lot of vintage Trans Am racing fans on Forza and also a lot of replicated Trans Am race car designs.
The problem is even if the design is spot on it is still incomplete. The reason being is the wheels.
For the designs to look life like they need Mini-lite wheels with a deep offset to complete the look.
These designs get posted on social media and vintage Trans Am racing forums. So people see them that do not have any idea you can do these things on a game. In my opinion the more life like they look the more new people you can draw in with them being posted on these sources.
So with this I hope you will consider adding Mini-lite wheels.
Once you add minilites where would you stop? BBS chrome outers with gold hubs are the most iconic rim and never been in game and the endless amount of drift specific rims. I think we have enough to make do and use a little artistic license.
I agree with you to a point. But with almost every wheel it is meant for a FWD or modern RWD because of the offset. There needs to be more deep dish wheels so it’s better fitting for Muscle cars, drift cars ect…
Another option ex. would be like Midnight Club did there wheels. You could set the offset of each wheel as well as paint different sections of wheel.
I’m not doing a comparison just bring up something that gives different looks using wheels that are already in the game. Which this would be more of a Forza 6 idea because it would take more that a wheel add on pack to do this idea.
I guess that would bring up another idea. Wheel add on packs. Another way for them to make money off the game. Could do tuner, exotic, and muscle wheel packs. I would buy it if it was reasonable.
What do you guys think? Would you buy wheel packs if it was a reasonable dollar amount and had a decent amount of wheels?
I agree mate, Minilites would be so sweet. You really hit the nail on the head here!
We really do need those deep dish BBS’s. Every race car has them. The thing I miss is that they made the chrome change color when you paint the rim and the fact that the dish can’t be as deep. I used to be able to put the Weld’s on a car and paint them gold and wham bam, the perfect substitute for old BBS’s. Too bad they took that away.
Wow, what a disrespectful reply. You say, use a little artistic license and that there are other rims that would have a fair shot as well. Well, first of all mini lites WOULD be one of the rims that have such a huge amount of use in racing because they weren’t just used in '69 and later Trans Am racing but many other racing and non racing applications as well. Artisic license is perfect for those who don’t care whether a car is replicated to a tee and just do their own designs but to a replica painter that cares about every detail the rims offered in FM5 just don’t cut it when it comes to many racing replications because of offset issues and well what we’re talking about here about just wanting the right rims. Should these other rims you mentioned be in as well?? Absolutely and just because he (we) are asking for the mini lite does not mean that we don’t want other very popular racing rims to be in as well.
As far as a rim/wheel package … I absolutely would buy it even more so than the latest car packs. Sure, you have to stop somewhere when it comes to things you want in a racing game but there’s no harm in asking since that’s what we do right … try to give feedback to Turn 10 about what we want?
Whilst i appreciate what you are trying to say, there are many, more important issues in fm5 that need addressing first, especially from an artistic standpoint, there are so many things that painters would benefit from that aren’t currently in the game, adding 2 sets of rims wont change that.
totlxtc is one of the best painters you will find in this section of the forums before you start running your mouth at him over replica painting, what he is saying, is that half the fun of painting in forza motorsport is finding ways around all the kinks and paint glitches, and missing rim styles, and bodykits, the list goes on, anybody can copy a car, but copying a car that doesn’t look the same as the version of the car in FM is much more challenging, and rewarding when it all comes together.
I agree that there are more important issues and in effort to try to stop something from escalating here I’ll say this with no intent of disrespect …
I’m not running my mouth at anyone and I know who he is. It was imo disrespectful the way it was said and Alpha Tide is my good friend. I’m not judging the person or his talent and am not that kind of person. I am however not afraid of anyone no matter what status they are or how good they are so if you or anyone else make a statement that comes accross as disrespectful to me or my friends, well, you’ll be called on it. I, just for the record believe that if I had the time to do it would be one of the best replica painters also and my best replica design brought me a little fame as well in FM4 … not braggin, just sayin’
See for me, BBS Deep Dish’s are the ones I want most. In previous Forza games I was fine without them because this was back in the day when dish size would increase with larger rims. Also the outer chrome didn’t get painted when you painted the rim. That was a big mistake. I used to use Weld rims and paint the center gold and when they were spinning nobody was the wiser. They either need to put those two features back in or grant us more rims!
Well I would like to maybe clear some of this up. Maybe some people have misjudged what I’m saying.
I in no way said that these wheels are more important than things that need to be fixed or updated. For that matter adding tracks is something we would need before more wheels.
These forums are a tool for Turn 10 to better understand what we want in a game. People will always want what they don’t have, but decisions like this are how we can help them make our gaming experience better.
So all and all would you guys like a wheel add on with muscle, tuner, and exotic wheels? Again it’s not that this is more important than other things… I’m just another person trying to help build a better game for us. If I was being selfish I would have only asked for a muscle car wheel pack and not the tuner or exotic.
My reply was in no way disrespectful nor meant in any way. I cannot see how you read it in that way, but the typed word can be read many ways I guess. More often or not I try to be as helpful as possible with anything design related.
What you will see I said is adding in new parts is all welcomed but where would you stop? I pride myself on detail and if you look at any of my replicas I will try to get as close as possible to the real thing right down to the decals for the jacking points on a race car or a polycarbonate scratch plate. But the fact of the matter we are only given the tools to do what we can so we get as close as possible. Plenty of the Trans Am cars you cannot remove the “road gear” like bumpers and the such but we still have to make do and mend.
Ok that’s fine. Like you said sometimes short striking to the point replies can be taken the wrong way. I just want to try to bring attention to Turn 10 something that people would like to see in the game at some point. The reasons my replies are so long most of the time is so I can make sure I cover everything so that I don’t step on any toes. Because that’s not at all what I am here for…
We just need more people to speak up so we will be heard… So come on guys speak up for wheels…
I totally understand and I do apologize for taking it the wrong way. I really like to be helpful too and I take pride in a huge amount of detail as well … currently spending around 5 - 8 hours per vinyl group on my current replica project. So it sounds like we’ve got that in common. I do apologize also for assuming that you were being disrespectful. I finally gave up on trying to find the right rims look wise for my project and just went with cragar muti - spoke rim which is no where near what the real car had or has on it now … mini-lites of course.
Imo, NFS Shift 2 had the perfect blend of rims. Center lock competition, vintage BBS /Volk/Watanabes and modern hi-end rims used on drift/time attack cars. And I really loved that the rims did´nt affect the PI of the car, you could use any rims you liked (not quite realistic but lots of artistic freedom). Even the stance of the cars was good in Shift 2. Slightly Mad Studio did an excellent job there. T10 really should pay attention. Recycled wheels from Forza 2 (with some exceptions) does not cut it any more. But in the other aspects Shift 2 stood no chance at all against the Forza series.
I have to agree! Between the extensive rims, the options for different front and back rims and the ability to"Works Convert" a car, plus the awesome legends pack with classic Hockenheim, the only thing that kept me from playing it longer was the atrocious paint booth. Still better than Gran Turismo’s though ;). I must say, I have always dreamed of a perfect blend of Shift2 and Forza! Motor, you hit it right on the head.
