A 6-Year Hiatus for This? I’m Going Back to FM7

I got mass reported for one video 10 days ago and got a 2 day ban.

I didn’t know because I uninstalled the game lol.

This is Microsoft’s flagship racing ‘sim’ game. They’ll need to make big decisions about letting this franchise die.

This topic is useless and only serves to silence people that are having problems with the game.

As someone who actively does track days and has taken several schools on track/racing I know I am right and you are wrong.

Yes you can/should look behind to defend you position but its always the trail’s car responsibility to avoid the collision and/or pass safely.

Defending T10 and Microsoft, because if we don’t, who will continue making bad games?

I paid less than $20 for Cuphead and the DLC. I paid the $100 for Forza ('cuz i’m a fool ) Truth be told I wish i would have paid the $100 to the Cuphead devs, and $20 to T10.

Why must they put some effort in the game when the playerbase is so low? If you cut the gamepass users maybe the game will score like 2000-3000 players at top. Forza Horizon 5 is the mainstream project for Microsoft and T10 come out with a messy game. FM coud have a small but solid base population if it come out as a masterpiece but in this stage it’s already a dead man walking just waiting for car pass to expire to be cut.

Because Good PC racing game are full arcade (Forza Horizon 5, Crew Motorfest, NFS) or full Sim (Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2, iRacing). All are very good option but many, like me, don’t enjoy much the full arcade nature of forza horizon while other can’t stand a full sim or are willing to pay good money for a good wheel setup (a fanatec or moza setup cost as much as a good graphic card). ASimarcade like FM is perfect for having fun without begin too child like or too hard to master: I play a lot at ACC and belive me: you need constant and a lot of practice to be consistant in your lap, beside an online race is a tension game where a slight mistake can jeopardize all and doing a good setup require a lot of knowledge and time. I know that most of the playerbase like full arcade game and the simarcade fans are not so many, yet with the dead of project car franchise we lost maybe the only good game of this category and we where hopping for FM to begin a better project of FM7.

Forza has its niche, i mean, where else are you going to race those classic muscle cars? Personally i wouldn’t mind Forza being more on the sim side of things, as long as they kept access to the wide class of cars like they do now.

Agreed, it’s the trailing car’s responsibility to pass safely, but that’s not what you said in your first post, is it? You said:

And that is simply not true. If the trailing car makes an attempt to pass, and the lead car makes a late move to block him, are you going to tell me that the resulting collision is the trailing car’s fault? Or as @Interemptor stated, I could brake check you in the middle of a straight, and it’s your fault that we collided?

man it’s a shame, i was looking forward racing with you, i know a good player when I see one. I’m not on level with pro players like RMZ, ESVs, but I’m definitely top 5 on avg player and I finish on podiums at every multiplayer gt3 or touring races. maybe i got reported from one of the players, just before the ban, I won a race by 23 seconds on the vintage lemans prototype.

What’s worse is that the ban deleted all my tunes.

Lol no, we’re not. I’ve not touched a meta car online and am rated S 4,995 and am certainly not one of these rammers. Please do not make such sweeping accusations unless you plan on backing it up with data.

Fact is, the moment you introduce ghosting, it isnt racing as zero skill is required to overtake ghosts as you just drive through them. Totally appreciate you’re not having a good time but this isnt the answer.

The answer is for the penalty system to improve in accuracy (obviously at the moment its not there) and then greatly ramp up the severity of penalties. What you’re asking for is the equivalent of applying a plaster to someone that needs surgery. It doesnt solve the underlying cause, which ultimately is a portion of the playerbase.

Player education would go a long way (not just for racing but for tuning as well) to helping this as well. But ghosting lobbies is not the answer. If I wanted to “race” ghosts, Id go play Rivals.

What about the progress single player and car levels, because if i lose those man, i’m not gonna be the same again

I am…
This doesn’t change the basic facts.
T10 have mislead us as to the quality of every aspect of this game, graphics, gameplay AI and functionality.

T10 have at last admitted this and therefore SHOULD tell Steam to refund those of us who feel the same way after giving them the benefit of the doubt and repeatedly waited for fixes.
Especially now with this “we’ll get back to you in 3 months time about just 3 of the games issues…”

Meaning it’ll be 6 MONTHS after launch before we get meaningful communication as to what T10 intend to do, if they intend to do anything at all.

Read the EULA on your games some time, you DON’T actually own them and they have the right to abandon support at any time and, we as consumers have ZERO recourse should they choose to do nothing…

GRID 2019 is a perfect example right after the final dlc all bugfixes were abandoned.
Before that Codies did the same with Grid Autosport, promised for 6 MONTHS “we’re working on a fix for the upgrades not changing car performance…” then announcing “all support for grid autosport will cease from today…”
Announced by their community manager who’d fought tooth and nail on our behalf to get this fixed, he immediately left the company in disgust and, last I heard works, for EA community support now.

What makes you think T10 will honour their statements given they have failed to deliver what they promised us in the 1st place?

Do you have any working idea of how to avoid a total carnage at the 1st and 2nd turn of a race without ghosting? My suggestion is ghosting for like 1st and 2nd turn (like forza horizon) and than put all race on like 8-10 laps (so we can justify the 20 min of free practice + qualify). In this way we’ll all have decent lenght race and the ghosting will not spoil anyone of the fun and will give rammers the mi*dle finger ruining their fun for good.

I just let everyone go out in front and then play catch up after everyone wrecks in turn 1 or 2… game is in a sad state for real.

Blockquote

If a trail car goes to make a pass and the lead car tries to block then:
If a collision occurs in the rear of the car the trailing car is at fault. They clearly did not have the opening to take it.
If a collision occurs on the side of the car its lead cars fault because now they have left their racing line and impeded on another cars line.

And yes a rear end collision is always trailing cars fault.
If you get brake checked then you are too close and/or not paying attention.
Is it a crap move from the lead car? YES
Does that make it the lead cars fault? NO

If you’re talking about driving on the road, sure. If you’re talking about racing, absolutely not.
