Can’t make it up eau rouge without braking.
AI drives like you don’t exist,
brakes on straights with nothing in front of them
totally gives up as soon as you pass them, falling back like they got a puncture or need a pee stop.
Can’t get even CLOSE to real world times set in the WEC 6 hours of Spa in 2019, e.g. They’re over 8 seconds a lap slower and the best I could manage was 2:18.110.
Best the FM AI did? 2:22.921.
Actual time set in the BMW M8 GTE was 2:14.248.
Worse still, started 18th and passed the entire field before completing 2 laps and even lapped one of them by lap 5!
Super advanced AI my lilly white behind!
Then there’s the permablur gfx.
Like the start gantry text being invisible until 4-5 car lengths from it.
Trees changing colour and shape when they breach the max LOD draw distance and the shadows actually appear.
Then there’s the nonsensical tuning where max front ARB’s gives more grip in midcorner and improves turn in response, the EXACT OPPOSITE of real world tuning where softening front ARB improves mechanical grip mid corner but reduces turn in response and stiffer ARB gives more responsive turn in but lowers mid corner grip,
Max ARB would irl have you understeering off track into the kitty litter!
In contrast this is AMS2 AI same track AI @100% &max aggression but can goto 120%.
Flatout @150mph up eau rouge side by side with AI drivers and ZERO contact.
Can actually RACE to begin with,
Can actually get close to real world laptimes.
2:17.242 whilst I was able to PUSH the car and get 2:14.858.
Took me over 4 laps to get from dead last to 1st.
The ENTIRE FIELD of them at the end of the race was closer to me than 3rd placed AI in FM.
Text on the start gantry is visible from the last corner and legible from the point the outer kerb stops.
No it’s not perfect you CAN see LOD pop in but it’s subtle enough to not be completely immersion destroying like in FM.
Cars look sharply defined out to a reasonable distance rather than fuzzy edged like they have 3-5 days worth of stubble all over them when more than 1 grid slot ahead
Oh and the trees look more realistic than cardboard cutouts you see at the Xmas school pantomimes!
All of this plus much MUCH more is why FM has just 39.26% and falling approval ratings on steam.
Whilst AMS2 has 91.66% and rising plus increasing player numbers with every update…
Oh yeah lest I forget AMS2 gives me 3-6 times the fps rate of FM too…
fps counter can be seen bottom left if you set it to 4k you’ll also better see the blurry gfx in FM watced @ 4k too.
Its not looking good. I dont see them making a no mans sky style turnaround. Its unfortunate but i hope they, and other developers, learn something from this… But as long as people continue to throw money at preorders chances are slim on them learning a thing
I agree except on the sales part, nobody is buying that, or playing it. Competitive structures just called off from the game because there is too many issues on different level, even after 3 patch notes, just look at 11:16 if you want to laugh a bit. They will need so much time to just make this game playable (at the speed we’re seeing good patch note, I agree with the video on a two years work at least) that another game will take on for sure. On top of that the game is ugly and expensive to run. The studio has nothing other than this for now in the coming years and they just putted 6 years into that, they’re screwed. And they have been ripping me of my money
I got 5 day ban for fixing the game or a falsified statement stating that I cheated. Man, I dont even have top 5% times on Rivals, somehow I got accused for cheating. The only thing I did was fix the wheel rim blur by editing some values, but then again that was 20 Days ago, and i got the ban yesterday night. Shame.
I think the point @MattJXN is making is that there are umpteen topics already in existence with a re-worded title which is essentially the same as yours, of which the comments largely reflect what you have also written.
You could add to them rather than create a new topic. You could find the issues and vote on it in the suggestions hub. You could check if the issues are categorised as “known” so you don’t need to post a new topic about it.
Everything you have written about is not a “new topic”.
The game is dead and as soon as the car pass and contracts expire they will likely stop any kind of support. The playerbase is so low that the game is not worth any kind of tryhard and they, for the most part, lose the oldschool playerbase with this terrible release. Who still play? Mostly kids who are trying the game with gamepass (biggest mistake release this kind of game there) and have fun playing destruction derby race hitting anyone. The old prototype league of this week is a total carnage…just E, D and C class event are a bit safe because the cars are slow and the impact is not so strong. People claiming that ghosting for the first 45 sec of race will ruin the realism are the metagame rammers who can win just overtaking anyone with this broken system. Did T10 give a crap about this? No, they did not even care to fix the online replay save to have some kind of proof on toxic players. They know big time the game is a mess beyond help and FM don’t have the massive player base of Forza Horizon to justify trying to fix it.
I don’t think they’re hiding anymore. It’s far too overwhelming. Even the gane reviewers that supported them, are changing their minds. This is out in the open now.
You know what’s constructive? Creating a complaining post about people complaining. What’s constructive about this?
I know this probably isn’t aimed at my post directly considering my thread was HIGHLY constructive and lists multiple areas of concern and careful word choice BUT opinions are absolutely necessary. Especially when the game is this bad. The developers, gamers, moderators, content creators etc all need to hear it. This isn’t some F the haters opinion, this is all due to the fact that T10 released a game that wasn’t finished and it downright misses the mark in every single aspect that they promised. If anything, there aren’t enough complaints.
But the game IS dead, it was dying, nothing interesting into the patch notes. Now there is nobody on this game (barely 4/500 players on steam). Competitive structures backing off from the game this week not because of player base, but because it will need at least two years to finish this game. It’s no where fair, competitive, stable, good looking or cheap to run.
There is no content for solo players either, I mean … this game IS dead …
Been there done that got the T-Shirt.
Still maintain and said in both threads this game is unfit for sale and asked a direct question of “how many PC gamers were involved in the beta testing of this game, or was it only tested on console & T10’s in house PC’s?”
Which will likely all be completey identical hardware.
Reiza have involved gamers in their beta testing from day 1, yeah they’ve dropped the ball a few times with minor bugs slipping through the net.
What’s important is what they’d do about it.
Put everything on hold and sort the problem out delaying future content but continally improving the game with every update and delay.
In general their content releases are trouble free when they make it to the public release precisely because quality comes 1st and we have a say in the game even when not involved in 5he testing program.
This is why they hired 2 gamers with engineering degrees who found a major bug and suggested a fix.
Steelcast27 and OEZ went on to fix the sticky differentials by changing the viscosity of the diff oil, also went on to discover that 2 tyre models were in conflict, they changed 6 lines of code in the game engine it’s designers chose to ignore & Steelcast went on to retune every cars default setup in the game across 2 updates…
T10 could and SHOULD have involved PC gamers in their testing, but probably in fear of piracy never bothered.
AMS2 paddock club members are under NDA and you never hear a single leak of what’s coming until Reiza allow them to publicise it.
When even Forzas most ardent supporters with a track record of tuning guides are abandoning this title speaks volumes.
But noooo we’re not allowed to repeat warnings in the hope other gamers don’t get fooled into buying this broken game due to T10’ utterly misleading hype train…
Shame on you…
