You’ve finally finished tuning and customizing your car the way you’ve always wanted. Now, it’s time to push it to the limit and see what it is now capable of, and perhaps tune it during the test drive.
Out of the several tracks included in Forza 6, which one do you think is the best for seeing what your car can do? I keep pondering which track I should test my car on and I still haven’t decided the ultimate track. Which one do you guys recommend?
What’s funny is, this is the one I started to use before I made this thread. I would say Nordshleife would be a good one, but it’s a long time before you hit a decent straight away.
Lime Rock Park for the basic feel. Once I get my tune basics set, I go to Bathurst run it as fast as possible. Lots of elevation changes, tight turns, and a good straight near the end.
Spa. Mostly high speed corners, a long straight to test top speed and one final very hard stop to a slow speed chicane. Catalunya has it all too and better low speed corners, but I find it a bit boring. Spa is infinitely more exciting as a circuit
Nordschleife I take every car on. It’s what I do. Top Gear Test Track is alright, if for no other reason than it’s perhaps the second most famous test track. Spa-Francorchamps is another great all-around track. Rio may be another.
Bathurst and Road America I feel would be the best bets for top speed and acceleration. Le Mans Classic would also work wonders, but take a bit longer per lap.
Tight handling, Lime Rock and Laguna Seca. Edit: And for the most part, many of the “Short” or “Club” variants of tracks.
Momentum, Bernese Alps and Watkins Glen.
Everything else is up to personal choice. These are the tracks I feel are good; feel free to use what fits your needs!
Nurburgring Nordschleiffe, since FM3. Every type of corner imaginable, long straights, and elevation changes. You can test most every aspect of a car there.
Same track I use while tuning for racing, have done since FM1. I use other tracks while tuning for drifting though. I used to use Sunset Peninsula and Tsukuba on FM4 for this, but now tend to use silverstone since FM5.
which ever track i am tuning for. there is no one “best tune” that will win on every track, there is no one size fits all. with my tunes prauge and topgear are opposites, what is 1st place on one is last on the other. lemans and dubai are opposite. if you are judging a tune by a single track you might be missing a gear tune for another track. i am sure any track is going to have an opposite. the tune i use for lemans in s class will lap cars even in a 3 lap race, if any track other than spa comes up and i dont change tunes i am gonna finish last place, and i’m not even going to win on spa unless everyone else makes a big mistake. but for that one track its a monster, near unbeatable.
I used to use Maple Valley short for tuning the suspension and basic handling aspects of my cars. It was quick and easy there. You had the right hand sweeper into the left hand sweeper with a curb that could roll your car over then a short straight and a tight right that you had to brake hard for then get back in the throttle. Seemed like if a car handled that well it could be driven just about anywhere. I would then take the car to one of the big ovals to get the top speed and then from there would tweak it for the track I wanted to race it on.
Still looking on FM6 for my ideal track, so far I have been leaning toward Road Atlanta Club for initial tuning then moving to a track with a longer straight for the top gear tuning. Seems to do pretty well
