Xbox Series problems and possible fix

I was thinking why not everybody has a problem after the patch. And if PG is able to create best racing game ever they for sure tested everything very well. So my thinking was my console must be the problem. I plugged console off the grid for some time because it should do something. And now it works. Try it!

I don’t understand your logic at all. You have been proudly posting on as many topics as you possibly can that the game is perfect, has zero bugs or issues and is the best game in the history of gaming bar none…so why would your console be the problem if you have no problems? How would unplugging it from the grid solve the zero issues your game has?

Please make your mind up: Either your game has zero issues and is perfect so carry on trolling the board…or it’s not so stop posting that it is. I want to say you can’t have it both ways but…

There is none that’s why.

I’m choosing to believe Turtle is doing some form of parody with their persona since FH5 arrived, I remember them being a fairly decent poster during FH4.

He’s very confusing. If he has a Series X console, or Series S then he must have had a lot of problems.

Who? Yesterday I did about 10 races, two tunings and all loadings were like before patch. I didn’t have much time but that’s the reason to test it on your own. I need data.

But your first post said that you had a problem. You didn’t mention that you had a problem till after you fixed it.

Yeah, maybe, but it looks like XSX is affected. Mine was badly like some others but it’s not now. Main problem was affected count was too low for a broken patch. If anybody can test it, we would know more. I am on my way for Horizon 5 controller now.

The poor chap certainly has problems. His console being the least of them.

Full power off clears cache IF you have console on instant on mode.

That’s the problem, I don’t use instant mode or quick resume at all. I didn’t think it could help, but…

So you have Series X… which surprises me.

I have a Series X and I’m not really having major problems. Some freezes, longer save times. Some clipping issues but not during a race. I haven’t had other issues really. I’m still connected to the internet (Grid?). I have not disconnected the plug if that’s what you mean. I’m really not sure. I do not ever use quick resume and I tend to power the console down fully since it turns on so fast. I did finish the playlist before the update. Dailies and arcade after and they work fine so far. Did some online racing. Slow loading as usual at times. Downloaded tunes from others (saved normally) but I haven’t made any. Maybe I’m just not doing what causes issues. I have luck in this regard of not having problems when others do at times. For sure they have not tested well that much is clear. If they tested thoroughly people would not have such issues and the game or patch would never have been released in the state they were in. Greatest racing game of all time? Hardly. Handling better? I guess a little but I’m not feeling a major change. Braking with abs off is extremely troublesome especially with the amount of hairpins in road racing. You have to brake so early to slow the car that others will plow into you constantly. Then I get a penalty for being slammed into a wall and dead stopped cause that helps me somehow…. Penalty system not working well. Catches me for tapping a wall while others bounce from wall to wall seemingly at will with massive clouds of blinding billowing smoke. Lot of issues here and the franchise just feels stale to me. Extremely disappointed but I knew I would be. I enjoy the improved Cross Country with less obstacles so that’s a plus.

Is it less? I didn’t play much CC in FH4 but on some of the rivals tracks here I noticed there still some obstacles put in deliberately stupid places, like piles of heavy stuff right on the optimal racing line which slows you down, ugh… someone joked that Playground Games may have a troll working for them. It might not be so far fetched.

Certainly whoever decided to put green flags all over the course, while the checkpoint flags are also green, was having a laugh.

Can’t say I’ve ever noticed green flags on the CC courses or at least not enough to mistake them for checkpoint flags…maybe I was too engrossed to see them

There is still some but it seems much less. In 4 between the rock walls (less but still a few) and obstacles it was just too much.

Can you tune or paint a car, or take a photo successfully? Or collect a gift drop? All the aforementioned will either take me straight to dashboard or result in a black screen.

Another annoyance since the update - any car that I’ve painted and subsequently driven isn’t displayed in my garage, there’s just an empty white box. I must have at least ten with the same issue. The liveries are visible from Design & Paints, but as soon as I try to leave the garage I’m back to rebooting the Xbox

What I don’t understand is if we’re all playing the same game on the same console, why isn’t everyone experiencing exactly the same issues? How can that be possible?

I’ve received at least one gift car since the update ok. One disappeared. I don’t paint or make tunes. I’ve downloaded tunes fine. I took the picture for playlist before update. I’ll do a car upgrade and try to take a pic and report back later on

You might need to take a few photos at different times…couple of days ago, I was taking Promo pictures and I did maybe 20 in less than half an hour and they all worked fine as before…came back to the game a few hours later, took a picture for Promo and it took about a minute of black screen before it put me back in Free Roam. Is very hit and miss

I’m pretty sure I only had half as much stuff to moan about before the update, so yeah, it’s definitely got something to do with that

Or the smoke from car drops on Eliminator that, on my display at least, is remarkably similar in colour to the dome. I find that very helpful lol

Okay. Invariably it’s exiting the house that triggers a crash. Maybe the tune/paint issue is coincidental as the house is the only place you can do that from - I don’t know.
