…I just don’t know what to say anymore.
We got a date. And that’s it.
We also got confirmation that they literally did not change the upgrade system one iota. Same PI nonsense, same Street/Sport/Race parts. Six years of development, and…that.
I feel like it seriously needs to be stressed - DO NOT PREORDER THIS. DO NOT BUY THIS AT RELEASE.
Yeah, considering letting go of some of the cars from Forza 5, 6, and 7.
We’ll get the straight info on the 13th. This was just to do the “gee-wiz” graphics and game excitement thing. Hopefully the hard core racers will get a few bones thrown our way when the game is shown during the Forza monthly. I also hope the entire Forza Monthly is dedicated to Forza Motorsport. Lord knows there wasn’t enough info on FM in the past few months, but that is only me wishing. I’ll be tuning in on Tuesday.
Because there hasn’t been enough of that in the last year or so.
They one-pump-chump’d it. The graphics is all they’ve got in their bag. What little meat that did get seen in the trailer was enough of a tell that this is just going to be a prettier version of an older game.
Be honest - what gives you the belief that Tuesday is going to be any different? Turn 10 has pulled that same tired bait-and-switch for a year now.
This was the Xbox Games Showcase. What did you possibly expect to see?
Something other than 01:26 of a subpar striptease would have been nice, particularly considering that this is the premier product from one of Microsoft’s own studios. The Flight Simulator 2024 trailer ate this one’s lunch and didn’t even really try to do much while it was doing so.
True, but I think learned more about Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 from that one trailer than I’ve learned anything about Motorsport 8 in the last three years, and I didn’t even know squat (or even care about) about Flight Simulator 2024 until now.
Well, what do you expect from a wowing affair?
They have to wow people in some way, and for the most part, that’ll be an Artstyle showcase.
You ougth to listen to Wilko here, we gotta wait until the 13th.
At least we got a release date and the UI is greatly improved. Hats off to T10!
the UI is greatly improved
Did we watch different trailers?
No. From what I know the UI has been changed a lot. In addition we can now display cars in the car bay and bumper buttons operate the upgrade menus.
On a rewatch, it does look more streamlined than past games in terms of functionality. So, that’s an improvement. However, I’m still puzzled as to why they’re using black as a primary menu color. Makes it look cheap and uninviting.
No mention of AI. Which means its likely the same base structure of AI as in FM7 which were ‘unfit for purpose’.
Makes it look cheap and uninviting.
I dont mind the AI, looks leagues better than FM7, but thats still the lowest bar of the series for menus.
I’d like to point out that
They haven’t even fixed the McLaren P1 Wing and its permanently sitting in the garage menu now.
Forever a symbol of the shameful state of the franchises negligence.
Well, I guess this all but confirms this game will be an FM8 and not a reboot.
We can finally pre-order! Any details about the ultimate edition? VIP membership and car pass is a given but DLC tracks would be nice…
What? what does that have to do with what I said?
They probably don’t know how to use the forum?

Wait until Forza Monthly’s details before pre-purchasing. If the game shows a bunch of stuff you don’t like, then you don’t have to cancel anything. IMO, even diehard Xbox apologist need to cool their jets until the game is a proven winner.
But this is all just my 2¢.
