Worst physics of all forza's-- ideas for improvement

I am almost a tier 7 of the forza rewards and i can honestly and openly say that forza horizon 2 is the worst step in physics I’ve ever seen in the forza series…

I understand it’s not suppose to be simulation and its suppose to be open for a large crowd of individuals, but this is the worst step I’ve ever seen EVER…
Theres mini-coopers that handle as good as good as the KTM X-bow, I’ve seen Evos turn as good as a veneno while drifting… Just none of the turning makes sense and the front tires have way too much grip for turning while going side ways… If you are going completely side-ways you aren’t going to rebound from that turn… It’s against the laws of physics… There would not be resistance in the right way to allow you to rebound and there would be acceleration in the opposite direction of velocity with an indefinite length because your tires are perpendicular to the road…

If you think I’m just being picky you don’t play online enough to notice this…

Not only are the actually driving physics poor, the collisions are HORRIBLE!!

I’ve never seen such awful physics in a forza game… It’s as if the cars on multiplayer races will just intersect with each other if you push hard enough… Theres almost no account for yaw when you collide with someone, so completely forget about spinning anyone out!! I’ve seen races of people completely ignoring braking and just running full speed into walls on turns because you basically deflect… Acceleration = Force/Mass, how would there be enough force off a wall to shoot a car 80% of the current speed in another direction thats about 60+ degrees different from the current direction… There wouldn’t be… the car would yaw into the wall then the side of the car where it didn’t collide with the wall will start to pitch up towards the wall…

All of my friends have noticed how awful the collisions between players and just the general environment are super clunky and seemingly just thrown together… It’s as if horizon is aiming to become NFS but with better clutch mechanics… It DISGUSTS me… Please work on the physics, they are just so awful in my eyes, even forza horizon 1 collisions were better than this… I wish I would of bought this game on disc so I could at-least sell it because theres no reason to own the game if you beat it because the only thing you can do is race online where collisions and physics are awful… and on a giant world you can only do one race at a time anyway… everyone will just keep spamming drag races and you can’t even tell what race it is… it just says ‘class ** race event’… You join a game where theres a circuit with 50 laps or a drag race that you didn’t even want to be a part of and you picked a car for grip…

Really so many features on this game is broken too, You cannot find anyone in-game without looking on the map for 5 minutes, theres no ‘route to player’, theres no color difference between friends on the map, its 5 minutes of ‘where are you’…

OH and lets go on to the road-trips… (the main source for racing online)…
The ‘Race Racket’ and ‘championship-winners’ makes almost no sense at all… Why would it be related to whoever has the most EXP in the game?? I’ve gotten more EXP in 5th place than the person in 1st… It makes no sense at all… Basically if you drive ‘clean’ you win the road-trip event, please ignore the people who drive clean but other people use them as bumper cars since IT WORKS… (brings back to the physics).

Put down whatever you think needs to be improved, because I’m not buying another forza horizon, or potentially even a motorsport because I don’t like the direction this game is going, and I’ve played since forza motorsport 2!! Best looking game of the forza series, but the worst playing one…

I don’t care what the crash physics are like because I aim to not crash anyway.

I don’t like the handling physics because in a game like this I want the cars to misbehave more. I am getting that via building and tuning, I just wish I did not have to do that to get the feel I want. But the tuning gives people the ability to get the feel they want.

This game is not a simulation and would not work as one so the handling should not be pure sim. It is boring as it is with understeer and massive grip. Just add Powaaaaaaaaaa and tune the things to turn.

The games already out, they’re not gonna suddenly change the whole physics system now are they. Maybe when a FH3 wishlist is out put it there lol.

I don’t know if you know but this isn’t forza motorsports and too many people believe it should be, mainly the diehard fans of the series. Sure the game has its problems but don’t act as if it is the same exact thing because it isn’t. Forza motorsports physics simply would not work at all in this game and comprises had to be made to create the massive open world complete with weather systems, day night and so many improvements that motorsports just didn’t offer.

I’ve been playing since the first forza and I understand how some people feel but this game is still great in it’s own way. It offers so much and I’m not in denial about buying it one bit.

The physics are so out of wack, I think, because they decided to make it real freerome. If they made the physics to realistic ever time you go off road in a rwd car you would spin in circles for days, or you would be just a cap of 30mph off road. Remember horizon 1 and trying to take a rwd on dirt road? Didn’t work too well. I think they had to sacrifice a lot, probably too much in order to make every car be able to go off road. If it was the same set up as Colorado I think you would be much happier

I’m a diehard fan and I like it just fine. I love my sims, but FH2 is also great. It blows a pure sim out of the water in Fun Factor.

This game represents (imho) SimCade driving at its absolute finest: just enough “Cade” that the dart-between-trees-fly-over-vinyard-take-1st maneuver is possible and viable, just enough “sim” to make said maneuver tricky and awesome. No slouch am I in FM5, but I’m faster in FH2 as it rewards my banzai driving style more often.

Making the “Sign of the Cross” over your chest and wrenching the wheel is a viable tactic here, and that’s half the appeal.

In total agreement with B Wald. Both sides of the Forza franchise are very good at what they do. What’s the point in having to games that are just the same. Two unique games is much better. I love being able to floor it, weave between some trees and not know if i’m coming towards a 1st place, or a very big accident. It’s great for relaxing fun just hooning around. Whereas motorsport if more for taking it serious to shave a few hundredths off your times.
The physics are fine for what they’re supposed to do, which is bounce cars around the countryside.

I feel like you went in with unrealistic expectations. FH2 is a fantastic game besides a few bugs.

What’s with the ranting about collisions? This isn’t burnout. I dont know about you but I try to avoid hitting other people.

I have no complaints at all about the physics. its taken what horizon did and improved on it in so many ways.

Go back to FM5 if you’re so upset, FH2 doesn’t sound like your kind of game.
