Ignore all that. The store has wiped the download now. It no longer thinks the game data is there even though SSD is still 9/10ths full and wants to just re-download, even though it shows the game and a progress bar in the start menu.
Colossal waste of time and data.
After asking on the MS forums and getting told by 1 person to just redownload, I am here on the slim chance someone has an idea on a fix.
I have capped data. So a redownload is not on the cards for me at this stage, especially where I know for a fact the entire game is downloaded. I saw it finish, I see my entire SSD has gone from around 110-120GB free to 35GB free.
after the download finished I had 50 files waiting, then after the install started I lost 1. As far as I can tell the main Forza Horizon 4 file is missing, as if it’s installed and been removed from the list or something.
Now, the main “Ultimate Edition” download that has all the DLC within it has and error code: 0x803FB107
“One or more items in this bundle didn’t install yet. We’ll keep trying. You can also try installing them from Downloads and updates.”
and each DLC has code: 0x80073D12
“Before you can install this add-on, you need to install the app or game it works with.”
Apparently the store was built on 2005 ideology and checking files isn’t a thing unlike as far as I’m aware, any other large file download system these days.
I’ve tried signing out of my account on the store, and back in. Signing into another account and trying to install. Running the store app troubleshooter that does nothing. Resetting the store, that does nothing, not even signing me out and resetting settings like it says it will… Clicking retry over and over to see if brute force retrys would work. Reboots.
Every app is up to date, as far as I can tell the store is up to date. Windows is V1909, build 18363.836
At a loss on if there is anything that can be done. Asking here in the hopes someones run into this and has an answer.
Thanks
