I’m definitely excited for FH4. I’m wondering how many of you all who don’t already subscribe to Gamepass will do so once FH4 comes out? I’m not a member and I’ve been waiting for something I really want to play to come to GP before trying it out. I hope Microsoft doesn’t get rid of the free first time trial deal for GP before FH4 hits in anticipation of all the people who will sign up at that time.
I think GP is $10 a month, if I remember correctly. Even if FH4 is all I end up really playing it’d take 6 months to equal the cost of the game. Pretty good deal, IMO.
What do you guys think? Going the Game Pass route or buying it outright?
I’m a GP subscriber and I’m buying it outright. Honestly, if you know you are going to play it a lot you may as well buy it outright as opposed to paying $10/mo for the ability to play it.
Even if you get the ultimate edition, you’re paying less if you play FH4 for more than a year.
GP for 12 months = $120 USD
FH4 UE = $100 USD
Plus with the UE you get all the DLC included in the price, GP you would have to pay extra.
Won’t be buying Forza horizon 4 or get GamePass because I already bought the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition.
I don’t have Game Pass as I’m am predominantly a PC gamer. I have an Xbox One for exclusives and have recently negotiated a deal with a friend for his PS4 (he’s upgrading to a Pro) but if I can play on my PC, I will.
After playing Horizon on Xbox 360 and Horizon 2 on Xbox One, Horizon 3 showed me that Forza can work well on PC. To the point that for the first time in three years I’ve pre-ordered a game with Horizon 4. The Ultimate Edition no less, which is also a first. The most money I’ve ever put down for a single game in one transaction. Needless to say I’m very excited about the game and what they have shown so far.
Play Any where Titles that are included in Game Pass I think there are 8+ games so far in the list that are Play Anywhere
ReCor
State of Decay
That sail the seas game
Super Lucky’s Tale
Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection
Disneyland Adventures
Gears of War 4
Halo Wars 1 and 2
Thanks for the info. If nothing else it at least raises my awareness even though I’m not a fan of games as a service.
One of the reasons I tend to play on PC is that the vast majority of back catalogue will still be playable when I upgrade, and it won’t cost me to keep a game on ice for multiple years at a time. Consoles are sketchy with their backwards compatibility at best these days.
Still, it’s a nice deal for those that can benefit from such a system and great that PC is also included. Just as long as it never replaces my ability to buy games at one-off prices and keep them.

I was the same with Forza Horizon 2. I’d never bought a AAA game as a digital download before (and haven’t since) but the first Horizon I played for close to two years straight. It was the first game that I really got into online multiplayer with and I loved it. Being able to set up the course and what cars to drive in a lobby and then make it public and race those who joined, or just searching for lobbies that were running the types of races I liked and joining those. That was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming. So preording was a no brainer and I wouldn’t need a physical copy because I’d never trade it in…
Then the game came out and as everyone knows they totally scrapped user created online public lobbies. There was absolutely no way to do what I really wanted to do without having to leave the game and go social networking with strangers in looking for group places. Ended up being probably the biggest disappointment I’ve had in gaming.
I hope your experience goes a lot better!
I will be preordering the physical ultimate edition. Not a fan of games as a service because I tend to go back and play games several years later.
I’m going to buy the physical ultimate with all the bells and whistles

I’m going to buy the physical ultimate with all the bells and whistles
Have had Game Pass since it was released and find it quite good and it is getting better but I still Bought Horizon 4 with all the extras as I want it all and I want it ASAP Will keep Game Pass as it is handy for me to have.
Already have the game pass so I’ll just stick with that.
No. I will buy Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition.
No.
Waiting to see how the game rolls out after release, then more than likely and for the first time, will buy the UE.
Already bought Digital Edition Ultimate
I won’t be pre-ordering. I will probably buy the game, if there is no big issues with it. Game pass is good way to try things out (+ people’s feedback here and elsewhere).
I pre-ordered the ultimate the day after E3. I was stalking the xbox page waiting for it to come up lol. I’m loyal! Horizons are more fun than motorsports as well
I’ll buy the standard disk version then any addons later on Xbox. Its a more expensive way of doing it, but at least I know what I’m buying and have never had problems or been disappointed.
The advantage of having the game pass will be that PC players will get to play the full game and find out if their setups are up to the job.
Game Pass version comes with zero DLC. Gimme Ultimate.
If/when I buy the game, I’ll be getting the digital Ultimate Edition. The Game Pass has yet to interest me.
Ultimate physical edition already pre-ordered!
