Will You Buy FH4 or Get Gamepass?

Already pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition.

With gamepass you only get the standard edition so it doesn’t make sense to get it only for one game. If there are other games on gamepass you’re interested then it might stack up to do it that way.

Didn’t I read somewhere there are plans for all new Microsoft games to be on gamepass?

All new first-party titles (Forza, Gears, Halo etc.) will be available on Xbox Game Pass.

The most recent high profile “Day 1 Game Pass” games were Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2.

I have GP and use it for many games (Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and others).

Saying that, the value I personally see in FH4 UE led me to pre-order it. Both expansions, VIP, car pass etc are all things I’d buy separately (if available) so buying the UE bundle works for me even with GP.

Amazon Prime pre-ordered Ultimate Edition for $80.

I prefer ordered from amazon, no mention of prime discount at that time. Yesterday, it was showing prime discount, checkedy pre order, didn’t see any adjustment there, so I canceled and reordered at the prime discount.

They still aren’t showing arrival time to be early. If they actually change it, and it doesn’t reflect that on order, I’ll repeat the process. I’d actually like to start this one early, now that I’ve got my tier up, and most Forza games either completed, or a good way through them.

Got FM 7 early, but held off several days working on my score. I didn’t know about loyalty rewards or Forza rewards until last September, and I’ve been playing Forza since 2010…

Ill be getting the standard edition and waiting until after the game releases to see how it is and how the online component works. There’s no reason for me to get the deluxe content or the car pass for this with so many cars to be had in the base game and the more generous (usually) Horizon credit earnings rates. I also would way prefer owning instead of leasing my games.

Game Pass gives a discount on the game itself and DLC. So it may be the standard version, but the DLC is also discounted.

Do I buy DLC separately?
Yes. Members can purchase DLC at 10% off the retail price (or the best available discounted price) for Xbox One games while the game is within the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Xbox Game Pass discounts are not combinable with other offers and are not redeemable for cash; discount offers exclude titles within 30 days of launch; discounts based on Microsoft Store price.

So far, if I am reading everything correctly, there is zero incentive to pre-order. The Formula drift pack is all they added for pre-ordering, which will probably be available sometime after. It boils down to, you pre-ordering to play early and a car pack, or get a discount after release.

That should read 10% to 20% discount and between 30 to 90 days from launch if added to the Game Pass Library So discounts for Forza Horizon 4 may not be available for the first 3 months.

Also please note the following prices, Prices are based on Past Pricing

Car Pack Add on $30 to $40

VIP Pass $20 to $25

Expansions Pack 1 $30

Expansion Pack 2 $30

Expansion Pass $50

Approx. cost of all Packs if you buy Separate from game will be about $120AU or $90 US or there about going from past Pricing Total cost of Ultimate edition $140 AU Dollars or $100US Dollars

As you can see buying the All in one Ultimate version is a good bargain at the moment compared to buying the Base Game for $60 then spending another $100 Plus for all the add on packs.

I’m buying the standard edition only most likely. FH3 lacked replayability for me after I completed all achievements thanks to the botched PI system.

I will buy add ons only if I feel like there is some value.

Game pass has no impact on my decision making. I’ve go too many games to play as it is to justify Gamepass. I download most of the games with gold games and I’ve only played a fraction of them. Given that i dont have the free time like before, Gamepass would be a waste of money.

You’ll need to consider if A) you’ll play FH4 long-term, B) if you think you’ll actually play many of the games in Game pass, and C) if you life allows a lot of time to mess around with a bunch of games.

If A is no and B & C are yes, then Game pass is the way to go. Game pass is not for everyone, do try to think reasonably before jumping in. It’s a great product, but only for certain gamers.

You make a good point and would agree with you totally except for the fact I do not any longer pay for Gold and have had Game pass since it was released but have never parted with Money to own it.

I use to have the Old Xbox Rewards this was replaced with Microsoft Points a some what better system. I use Microsoft Points for Gold and Game Pass saving a $190 or more a year on subscriptions. With enough Points left over for several Gift Vouchers.

And as My Gold is subscribed till April 2021 and Game Pass till next year I will be using Points for buying Games and maybe a new Controller.

So far I have over 300 odd games 200 installed and over 100 in Ready to Install Plus the ones in Game Pass I have not tried yet. Is game Pass worth the $120 is a hard question to answer as it all depends, If new to Xbox then yes or on a tight budget and $120 a year looks good for over 130 games compared to $100 for just 1 game. Game Pass is not for every one but when you don’t pay for it, it dose not really matter all that much, and I do play several game that are in the game pass Library like Gears and Fable plus several others.

As much as I love the series, and as much as I want to directly support T10, this time I am going with Game Pass. In my local Xbox Store, the monthly subscription is ten times cheaper than the base game.
I will carefully check how the expansions / DLC turn out to calculate the final investment.

I’ll be pre-ordering the ultimate edition because I have zero impulse control when it comes to these games.

So Zero hey hum so what do I have as have all ready ordered is there less than ZERO :dizzy_face::shushing_face: :shushing_face:

Lol sorry what?

Just saying you have better impulse buying control than I do :money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face:

All the ultimate goodies are cool but I mainly pay for the early access. I need to learn all the roads and races before I go online. I might be able to finish the single player before the worldwide release date

From here out I doubt I will be buying deluxe or ultimate editions. Not because I hate or have anything against Forza, but because the games come with so many cars as it is that I have plenty to drive before even thinking about DLC cars. Earnings also are not that bad. You can earn a lot of cars relatively quickly in these games. It’s the completionists that will feel the burn more than anyone if buying standard.

I have gamepass and im still gonna get the ultimate. There’s no reason not to if you plan on getting the game and playing it a lot. They are offering way more stuff then ever before.

Game Pass isn’t offering enough games to where I want a subscription to that on top of my Xbox LIVE sub. I know if I want a game badly enough I’ll just buy it outright instead of using Game Pass to check it out first.

So I’m going to buy the Ultimate Edition of this game at launch.

While I get some of the free games with gold I pretty much use my xbox for the Forza franchise exclusively. Game pass is not a value add for me so I’ll stick with gold and ultimate pre-order for Forza. To each their own, whatever works best for you to get your game on.
