The better the tv/monitor, the better the dv performance. Many tvs support dv, but theyre not all equal. Tbh hdr is graded at 1000 nits, most “hdr” tvs/monitors dont even reach that, but thats where dv comes in and can help give those lower nit screens a better representation of hdr.
RT is unfinished/work-in-progress in the game at the moment ![]()

Check out this bug report I created. Could be due to performance RT.
Yeah but still needs a lot of graphical improvements. The white shimmering inside the cockpit is just horrible, racing at night is even worse. The rims of the cars at night they are getting light in the inside barrel Wich does not happen in real life like in the game.
Yeah, the white glow in cockpit is horrendous
I’m a PC player and I am not going to make any suggestions or assumptions on how the Series X handles Forza Motorsport. I just want to ask you all if when you have RT on while racing during the night in game and in cockpit view, does the color of the car in front of you bleed all over the place when your head lights shine on it? I want to know if I am alone on this.
We’ve already reported these, including the inside of rims looking almost white which is plain weird. Hoping these will ultimately get fixed.
Game needs a lot of work in terms of shadows, reflections, textures, lightning, etc. Especially the way RT is implemented.
You ain’t alone. Happens on all platforms. RT is just not looking that great ATM. They’ve a long way to go.
Right, amazing and complex stuff aside, I hope they fix the broken reflections in cockpit due to Performance RT as soon as they can.
But what saddens me is knowing that they actually respond to the problems saying that they won’t fix. For example track seams, missing front water splash on cars, fix lod problems on some tracks, it’s been a year and this problems are there day one ! Track seams and this white shimmering on cockpits are the killer for me. It’s very eye catching and i hate it. 2D wheels in some cars are horrendous it’s beyond my comprehension.
Will they also fix this ? The extra brightness inside cockpit camera ? It does look like this in some scenarios
I haven’t come across this issue s so far. Have you tried retweaking the in-game HDR?
If anything, the world can look dark from cockpit and even other views during sunrise, evening and sunset as no headlights are on! They should be
You might want to keep it slightly lower than the default 1000 value as they updates the HDR presets to give the tail lights and headlights better glow and halos.
Is your brightness at zero? Even at zero, I can see the FM logo, so make sure you have that down all the way.
I just checked your screen grab. How can default for HDR brightness be at 10,000? That is way, wayyyy too high, no wonder you are seeing overblown highlights.
It’s also recommended by the Xbox HDR calibration…
The thing is on the right side it says “move the slider until black Forza logo disappear” but then on the left side says " the black FM logo should be barely visible"
The game’s real time tone mapping is probably the worst in any game released in the last decade.
Won’t they fix the graphics? If we all know this don’t they also know ? Its weird…
Make sure your backlight is at 100. Move the slider on your TV and then set it to 100. Just do it, no questions!
What kind of TV do you have for the Xbox? What’s the maximum peak brightness in Nits?
The black level slider in Forza should be at zero. The peak brightness logo should stop where you see the Forza Motorsport logo as “barely visible” BUT since they have adjusted the HDR values to make for brighter brake and headlights, you can have that peak brightness slider a little lower.
So if it goes from barely visible to even clearly visible, you are absolutely fine.
Don’t worry about the Xbox calibration app too much. Don’t touch that as the calibration app is totally fine, it’s fully accurate and all. Forza’s in-game HDR tweaking is a bit broken I think. Just do what I recommended then report back!
That’s the TV. Bought it in 2021.
The HDR app on Xbox is fine and correctly calibrated. On Forza i did reset to video settings and then i changed the brightness to 0 and the HDR brightness was set by default to 1.450.00 if I’m not mistaken. On LG tv the backlight is 100 as so the brightness also on Forza if you swap cameras the cockpit camera is always brighter than other cameras easy to spot on switching from cockpit to dash cam. Try any track any weather
That’s weird. I’m not getting extra bright views from cockpit during daytime, afternoon or any other time of day.
Could you possibly have some kind of processing turned on the TV that’s causing what you’re describing?
If this were a pressing issue I would have reported it here right away! But I’m not seeing this on my screen.
