if weight transfer wasn’t simulated the cars wouldn’t move on their suspension, rollbar adjustments wouldn’t affect the handline, tyre pressures would be irrelevant etc etc

Maybe the only difference is the gamepad steering.
But I have to say. I found it odd when I full throttle on exit and lose rear traction, not just the rear slides out of control, which would cause a spin like in most games. But I noticed that the front loses grip also, making it very unlikely to ever spin. So I thought maybe its weird dynamic weight transfer, and its not that.
An invisible force that literally pushes the front tires to slide to the left or right right with no grip when the rear loses traction and oversteers in either direction. It reminds me of a racing technique that is build into the game.
It is even visible on tire grip interface.
Is this the famous front wheel brake lock to stop spin manouvers, being built into the game as standard, to prevent players frustration with spin outs? You lose a bit time when applying full brake but you save the car and regain grip instantly. Leaving people allot less frustrated if they don’t know that they can front brake lock to prevent a spin.
I have all assists off and it still reacts like a front wheel brake lock even with me not applying any brake, on every corner entry/exit oversteer.
I assume this is just for comfort gaming sake, no? Or is there something else at play here, that I don’t know of?
Honestly not sure about the unintuitive grip loss part, but regarding weight transwer you should explore ‘suspension geometry’ section of vehicle tuning screen. It limits squat and dive of the car significantly on default setting, which of course can directly affect the grip behaviour.

IMHO this is the best most realistic grip model of any Forza.
And to some extent the weight transfer physics are better too, but not quite there from a realism aspect.
It’s hard to quantify realism in a console game with a controller, but there are some tangible effects there.
