Why is there no demo available for 360

Not denying capability of hardware, just programmers/developers just scratch the surface of what’s possible with xb1.This will come in time as you said.
Exactly the reason I havnt purchased. Not because i cant afford as some xb1 owners love to claim.
I also waited for non kinect package.(would NEVER get used).Microsoft lied to current xb1 owners saying a kinectless package would never be sold.
I knew as soon as ps4 started outselling the kinectless package WOULD be magically available.

To get back on topic would have still liked a demo to see any improvements since FH1 what with the afore mentioned time since FH1 was released.

PJ… I suggest you do yourself a favour and stop talking about the XO version until you’ve at least played the demo. Maybe then you’ll realise how ridiculous your posts look.

Seriously, the game comes out in ten days, at which time you will have all the information you need to make an informed choice. Is a demo for the 360 really needed? In fact, for most AAA titles, is any demo needed?

Plus, the Forza franchise is only for the Xbox Generation, not for PlayStation, and there is a Xbox 360 available, they didn’t put a demo on 360 because the game must have still be in development.

It releases in a week in the US so no way it is still in development. There is a 360 version to keep those who haven’t stepped up a console generation happy despite the fact it is a diminishing return situation - while a demo would be nice it doesn’t happen for most games now and the fact FH2 doesn’t have a demo is not unusual, especially given the focus is the newer generation and the desire to spend their money on the new generation. Could be worse and have no 360 version at all…

I’d like to know as well. I’d like to sample Horizon 2 for the 360 before I purchase it because it is being developed by another company and I’ve never heard of them.

I’m currently on the fence between investing in the 360 copy, or waiting a few weeks until I can afford to get another XB1 console and FH2.

Same here. I’m in no hurry to upgrade to the new system. There’s still a lot of use left in my 360. Honestly my gaming laptop cost thre times as much as an Xbox One so its not fully a cost issue although I’d have to justify to the wife why I need a new console. In terms of a demo, it doesn’t break my heart that one isn’t available as I’m most likely going to get the game anyway. On release day I will read some reviews just to be sure.

If reviewers will even review the game at all. So far they only seem to have XO copies for review and the 360 is left out of it completely. I’m hoping for official reviews, but I’m not counting on it. Though I’m sure players will review the 360 version online. I’m not completely trusting these official reviews anyway, already there is difference between how they talk about H2 then users are.

Yeah, if anyone really isn’t sold on Horizon 2 for 360 they’ll just play the Horizon 1 demo, which should be just as enticing.

I don’t think it’s a dimishing return at all. Studios don’t just release a game on a platform for fun, but because they expect to make money. A lot of the major games still do 36 releases and some of those studios sure don’t gamble and take chances. No, they know they will make a handsome profit from the games they release for the 360. The 360 sales of Horizon 2 will still be very close to the one for the XO, it may be a little less, it may be a little more. It’s not as if the XO is so popular, it’s still catching on and there are way more 360 users then there are XO users. Sure, in a year or 2 that will be different, but for now it’s safe to say that 360 games will still sell very well. It’s not a matter of keeping us happy, it’s a matter of profit. As long as it’s possible to port a next gen game to previous platforms they will do so, because it will be profitable and that’s what it’s all about.

Makes you think about next gen games though… some of these so called next gen games couldn’t run on older platforms according the developers. Suddenly we all see them popping up with 360 versions, in spite of the game be oh so next gen. So much for for next gen games, a lot of the major games seem to run fine on the last gen, with some adjustments. Next gen or not, in the end it’s all about the money and if there’s money involved next gen games suddenly run on last gen consoles.

I wouldn’t worry 2 much about the demo, the full game is out next week

I think most money will be made from 360 version since everyone and their dog have an xb360.
Would be very surprised if xb1 sales were anywhere near.
which brings me back to the original question.
Personally i wont be buying it due to my thoughts/opinion about FH1.A demo may have changed my view. For now its probably a future pre-owned buy.
I will pick it up for £20 in November since i only paint/design on FH1

No doubt you’ll see footage and Lets plays starting on the day of release, so if you’re willing to wait before you buy then looking at videos will be your best bet, especially for 360 users.

Problem is that often after release the price goes up again. Now there are various pre-order specials going on, giving you a good deal on the game. I can understand that people would like a demo before the release, so they can still get the pre-order pricing. Regardless of a demo I’ve pre-order anyway, it can never be worse then Horizon 1, so I’ll take my chances. What I’ve seen so far sounds and looks good, except for the too small game world, but I didn’t think they would change that at all. I’m already happy that most of the boundaries are gone.

Papa, just so you know, there is lightning, fog, rain in the demo. I’m not sure why you think it’s static, but the effect of rain washing across your windshield as lightning illuminates evrything around you is amazing. Try playing the demo before telling us all how static the weather is. Oh right, you can’t, so stop spouting your ‘facts’ with absolutely no basis.
If you want to ask about things, that’s fine, i’m sure people will answer, but to keep telling people what is and isn’t in a demo you’ve not played is ridiculous.

Cool  but I didn’t say it was static at all.

Somewhere in a thread you used the word static to describe the rain effects. You also said in this thread it looks scripted. It’s a demo, it may well be scripted, in the full game it will not. But you keep giving out facts with no first hand knowledge. Facts which are often incorrect. There is indeed lightning, fog, etc, which you claimed there wasn’t. You’re not doing the game or your credibility any favours when you continue in this manner. Check your facts before you post is all. Everyone makes the odd mistake but you seem to up the average. lol

Not scripted in the full game… fact or wishful thinking?

Fact. Even in the demo you see clear movements and progression of weather while in free-roam.

The only wishful thinking in this thread is you hoping the Xbox One version isn’t superior to the 360 version. Not sure if jealous and hoping Xbox One owners are as disappointed as you, or just plain trolling. Ralph Fulton has already stated that in the full game the weather is dynamic and the atmospheric modelling takes care of it all.
Either you’ve read next to nothing about the game, or you’re deliberately trolling. One damages your credibility, the other gets you a vacation from the forums. So be mindful of what you post, and check your facts like the rest of us have been.
