Why is the Auction House so empty

Porsche PO

I saw 11 in less than 2 hours of search on Sunday too. Couldn’t get any unfortunately.

I see. I wish the 720S PO was that common, I’ve spent ages looking today and found 2, both of which I missed out on.

edit - 2 searches later…

I had a friend in a party chat who was willing to trade his 04 wrx. I was there at the auction house ready to press A on search for wrx 04 as soon as he gave me the greenlight to search as soon as it was listed, saw it appear & clicked buyout as soon as humanly possible, but of course it was already bought out.
Same thing happened a day before where I searched for it fast & constantly for 5 mins straight, saw 1 pop up, clicked buyout as fast as humanly possible, but nope. Bought out.

Something definitely seems fishy. It was never this bad before. I just want another 04 wrx because I’ve always had 2 different builds in every previous Forza game. So, I agree with the guys above me. Just put these real life common cars in autoshow & make actual rare cars rare if nothing else.

Welcome to allowing PCs into a game and the macro auction purchases.

PCs make macros easier, but it wouldn’t be particularly difficult to rig up an automatic system for an xbox using an external PC and maker hardware, especially if there was a decent amount of real money involved as an incentive. The real solution is to fix the core problems with the system that creates a market of desperate players willing to make shady deals with real cash that drives the incentive to use macros and hacks in the first place.

I personally am very glad they opened it up to PCs as it’s made the game much more accessible for me with being able to run it on my laptop and not be tied down to an xbox and TV to be able to play.

The biggest issue as mentioned is that regular players cannot sell at market value. The only really secure way to trade is if you can sell and buy at max price. So example, you buy that scooby at max price, then give change by selling back some other cars.

Well even that is not secure way anymore when many people have hundreads of millions credits thruw glitching, now even wheelspin cars sell 20m cr in right away.

yeap or name of car does not show up in search

after the money glitch there is no point to trade at the AH… anyone can buy anything for 20 millions of credits

Anything except the dozens of rare cars which you can’t buy, yeah.

Not quite true, the wheelspins seem to be rigged to some degree so that a given player will end up with duplicates of some rare cars but never have others come up even after thousands of wheelspins, effectively forcing them to trade on the AH to get certain cars. For PO cars, the AH is the only way to get all of them.

Good point on the broken economy though, the other reason everything appears to be so rare is that things are getting snatched up so fast (even autoshow cars being listed with buyouts above their autoshow value) by players with way more money than they know what to do with.

It will be really interesting to see what PG does to address this situation in the next update, or if they’ll just ignore it and pretend the economy isn’t completely broken.

The Auction House is pathetic.

I have been searching for a Hoonigan RS200 for the last two weeks, pretty much every day, and every time I go to a House/Festival. I have probably searched a few dozen times spread out over this period, and have never seen one come up.

What’s especially stupid, is how rare some cars are in the Auction House, when they aren’t even special. Like the Caddy Limo. It isn’t going to legitimately be a contender for Speed Zones/Traps, Drift Zones, Jumps, etc. It’s more of a joke car than anything, much like the VW Type 2 De Luxe, with the difference being that the Caddy is ultra rare and sold with inflated prices by Legendaries.

The problem with the Auction House ultimately stems back to Legendary sellers. When people see that a rare car can be sold by someone for millions of dollars, but they can’t do the same, I think they hold on to them out of either optimism that they will eventually be Legendary, or out of the fear that if they change their mind about wanting the vehicle, good luck getting it back. So the end result is an auction house devoid of rare cars…great system.

Haven’t played in a few weeks, and I come on and cars such as the Mclaren Senna and Zenvo ST1 are completely extinct?? Is there any reason for this and other cars being extortionate in price compared to literally weeks ago??

How are they extinct
I can go to the autoshow and buy multiples if i wanted

If you are referring to the auction house well thats another thing
Just maybe timing or maybe its the cheaters buying them up with their cheat money

Well simple reason is that game economy is totally broken and peoples having hundreads of million credits extra credits.

That’s been a big complaint of mine, nothing to do with the over 100 million in credits. I got them the legit way, I’m disabled and not a big fan of winter so I spend too much time driving, but the cars are practically handed to you or hidden behind multiplayer events.
I’ve maybe purchased 10 out of over 600 cars. The rest are from wheelspins.
In past versions of the game, class choice solved a lot of that problem because I needed to upgrade cars in all classes and disciplines, in FH4 I generally have two or three cars in each of A - S2 classes. With most lower class seasonal events forcing specific cars I don’t actually tune nor upgrade them until I actually have too.
With multiplayer being a road raging carnage event, you are pretty much forced to get the heaviest vehicle you can in order to survive long enough to.possibly get a podium finish.
One thing that could bring balance to the game is to reduce the number of wheelspins. As it stands now, I have over 200 I’ll most likely never even bother with.
You can blame this entirely on the people whining about having to earn something. As for locking cars behind multiplayer, I’m only opposed to that because random players have no concept of team racing, most of the time I have to avoid humans and the AI trying to kill me just to win a car.

The 4 main reasons why the AH is empty is bc:

  1. the stupid Goliath glitch dumped billions of credits into the game, giving players more money than they know what to do with, jacking up the inflation, and wrecking the economic structure of the AH. Credits might as well be worth pesos now.

  2. the “legendary” status painters who got there simply by mass producing garbage at the start of the game. Those idiots now put out crap work on common cars and every rare car they can find, likely so that they can sell off credits on EBay. These hack job losers have also pissed off the real artists who bring ACTUAL VALUE to the game, but it seems like the Forza people would rather lose these quality artists than revoke legendary privileges from people who are clearly undeserving of it and who abuse it.

  3. the truly great livery artists are burnt out. The flawed system design has these artists putting all their effort into reaching 20M status so that, by the time they finally get there, they have nothing left in the tank for new original exclusive unshared stuff to sell us for 20M. All their best works are mass produced and common and thus not worth anything, when the best stuff should be a rarity to be purchased for 20M. Only a few artists are left selling special unshared liveries, and one of those won’t be back next year (Hydrostryke). My favorite cars in my garage are the “unshared” 20M ones purchased from Hydro… yet the game has effectively deprived us of that particular rarity aspect, which is a terrible shame. There should be a person dedicated to identifying the top artists and immediately handing them 20M status, so that their special works can become exclusice rare cars, no different than buying a PO car for 20M. These artists then need to be compensated in real life for their work, since they’re essentially a part of the development team, as they’re the ones spending massive hours creating these liveries that we covet. That dedicated person also needs to be in charge of revoking 20M privileges too. I see the same 5 or 6 losers abusing the privilege every day when I search the 20M page, and it’s highly annoying.

  4. the game doesn’t dump the truly rare cars into wheel spins with a high enough frequency. The ones that require 20+ minutes of straight grinding the AH for need to be increased by like 15%… and the cars that are no longer available, nor show up in wheel spins (like the Hoonigan Fiesta 10 and Focus 10), need to be dropped into the AH sporadically. People who are willing to spend 20 minutes looking for the car should be able to come away with one, rather than putting in 30+ minutes on multiple occasions only to still come up empty. These cars need to be dropped into the AH once every 10 minutes by developers. Plenty of people in this game joined AFTER car availabilities were ended. If these people are willing to invest some time in the AH, their efforts should be rewarded. I shouldn’t have to spend an hour and a half over 2 days trying to land the Hoonigan Focus 10. That’s just ridiculous, especially when it sometimes takes literally 6 minutes to claim a car. Took me 30 minutes to claim 7 cars the other day, just sitting their vegetatively watching the ring spin in the middle of my TV.

  1. Well this is pretty mutch only reason why auction house is empty. And maybe you should watch in the mirror.

  2. while i agree that legendary system is really bad you blame legend status when in reality it’s only few people that search rare cars and sell them at 20m (like you said you see only 5-6 same people all the time when searching 20m cr)

  3. And how many buy those 20m cr cars because of their paintjob, my guess is not many so no wonder that guys like hydrostryke only sell rare cars. You want reward talent painters i agree but not the way giving only them ability to sell rare cars at 20m, AH market should be free and forza should think new way to reward those guys. Or maybe system like FM4 was where you could sell just designs and tunes.

  4. You want rare cars show more often so you could collect rare cars more easily? I dont know when you have search gymkhama 10 focus but few months ago that car didint even sell at 20m, month ago that was in forzathon shop so everyone could get that and even now every one who dont have finnish skill streak horizon story can get one without searching AH. You complain that 1,5 hour search is too mutch, why not right away to give every car to everyone is spending 1,5 hours to get car is too mutch work (even buying 250 GTO takes like 7 hour of goliath racing to be able get enough credits)

And i think you forgot mention one reason 5. Because people collecting these rare cars, like you having 12 wheelspin aventadors or guy that i see that have like 20 720S PO.

  1. LOL. Nice try [Mod Redacted - D].

  2. [Mod Redacted - D]. I never blamed legendary status. I was very clear about my thoughts on it, and in fact I said the TRUE legendary artists need to be compensated in some fashion for their long hours of contributions to the game. I blamed the losers who abuse the system, take advantage of privileges that they didn’t earn and shouldn’t possess to begin with, and who litter the 20M page with common garbage cars with crappy paint jobs.

  3. The reason why there aren’t many 20m cars selling bc of their paint jobs is bc there aren’t many in existence. The great livery artists are either burnt out or pissed off that these garbage “legendary status” hacks were handed out the same status that took the true artists a massive amount of time and effort to achieve, as well as for these hacks being allowed to continue to abuse the system, putting out crap work for 20m.

When top artists like Hydrostryke DO offer exclusive unshared paint jobs for 20M, however, they sell like hot cakes. Again, the reason there aren’t many exclusive 20m paint jobs being sold is b/c of the SUPPLY, not the demand. The the demand is VERY MUCH there for it if the top artists either weren’t burnt out reaching legendary status or were offered some actual motivation from Forza to put out exclusive works to help reinvigorate the AH.

The livery artists should need to either be invited into legendary status or apply for it. There should only be about 40 of these people, give or take. The ones who are then given that status should immediately be rewarded with a free future installment of the game… and then once their quota for unshared “limited edition” works are met, they receive an Xbox ONE X. Then there are weekly, monthly, and a 6 or 8 month grand prize… with the prizes based on the dollar amounts of cars sold or something like that. There’s a ton of people who would take significantly more pride in ownership of a limited edition paint job car over a rare wheel spin car, by a country mile. I can get an Aventador FE in the AH for $550k any day… but I’ll gladly pay 20mil for it if boasts an awesome unshared design. Heck, I’ll share the 20mil ones I’ve purchased in another post in a minute.

  1. Oie vey. The only thing that matters is the present. Can anyone travel back in time to get the Hoonigan 10 Focus when it was available in the shop? How about all the players who weren’t playing then? Expired shop cars should be periodically dropped into the game, because nobody who owns them are selling them and bc there’s been a growth of new players.

[Mod Redacted - D]. This game game isn’t just about racing. There are thousands of cumulative hours being spent in the AH each day, yet you think only the racers should be the ones rewarded for their efforts? Gimme a [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D] break. Plenty of people spend as much time in the AH as they do actual racing, some even more time in the AH.

Love your GTO example by the way. So it takes you 7 hours to win a car that sells for 7m in the AH, meanwhile it might require an hour or longer to win a Hoonigan car in the AH that sells for 500k. Do the math. That GTO is 14 times more expensive than the Hoonigan, yet are you spending 14 times the hours to get the GTO? -NOPE! The person spending an hour in the AH on a Hoonigan is actually spending MORE TIME PER DOLLAR. Roughly 1 hour for 500k. That amounts to 3.5mil over 7 hours, as opposed to the 7mil or so from the Goliath, but yeah you keep thinking that nonsense that only the racers should be rewarded for their time and effort.

Right now it takes as much time or more in the AH to get a Hoonigan Focus 10 as it did to earn it through Forzathon Live events, and I can promise you- an hour of repetitively grinding the AH is infinitely more tedious, boring, and demanding than an hour spent racing… hence 1 hour of racing is NOT EQUAL to 1 hour of AH grinding, not even close. People buy this game bc the racing is fun. An hour straight of grinding the AH is not fun. It’s the pretty opposite of fun. Yet you think it’s some kind of travesty or circumvention of the system to want the rare wheel spin cars and expired Forzashop cars to be dropped with a tiny bit more frequency? Please. I think you should spend a full day grinding the AH for rare cars and then get back to us.

Top artists… I lol’ed. The superduper exclusive unshared paintjobs of your hero painter can’t be shared coz he uses other people’s layergroups for his “exclusive” liveries. How lame is that?
Try harder.
