Why is S2 (almost always) the most popular upgrade?

I tune most of my garage for A and B class, and some C and D class. I prefer to race competitively offline in these classes, most of the tracks and events are better suited to lower classes. It’s a shame that multiplayer is basically only S2 Would love to see some B class pvp lobbies, but I guess the devs want this game to be a free roam sandbox and not a competitive racing game.

Kids, of course.

I’d bet there’s no “tuning” whatsoever, it’s just the S2 build in the standard tune.

And it’s popular because it was the first one released. If the guy took his time to tune, he wouldn’t be the first anymore.

S2 class sucks anyway, you have to push your build way too far to reach the top and, in the process, you have to turn your car into something else. Cars like GT3 RS, Bugatti, etc. simply aren’t fun to race competitively in S2, but you have to start in S2 with them so there’s nothing you can do.

The way Playground handles S2 (and S1 to a lesser extent) is simply wrong. In FM7, there’s no car that can’t be homologated with stock looks, even cars like Alpine A110 and BMW M1 which require full upgrades to compete. In FH4 though, the Chiron and the 991 GT2 RS can’t reach top of S2 even with Forza aero.

(GT2 RS should actually have had standard aero as default but that’s beside the point)

Forza Horizon is slowly morphing into a NFS-type game rather than the TDU competitor it once was. It could lose my attention in the process.

V12 engines are so dated now. Its all about turbocharged power plants.

FH4 just shows how backwards it actually is. Also swapping out whatever the standard engine a car comes with for a V12, doesn’t mean it will go faster. Especially if the car isn’t just going in a straight line.

I find this game cant decide what to be, whether it wants to be more realistic or more arcadey. To be more arcade like, it should remove being able to modify cars, but keep the tuning and have a better selection of cars in their categories (racing would be more closer too). To be more realistic, then the modifying needs a complete overhaul.

I think this game has an identity crisis.
