Why is Forza 6 coming out on PC

I thought Forza 6 was only ment to be on Xbox 1?

Oh, please.

It’s been spoken loud and clear that this is only a “dumbed-down” version of FM6, with fewer cars and tracks. Not worth complaining about in my opinion.

Just saying shouldn’t make for multiple things if it was released esclusively for one

Obviously its not exclusive anymore. get over yourself. this is going to be a free version for us who have never played forza before that have been waiting for something like this for a long long time.

Thankfully, we have this news to make everything more clear: ““Moving forward, all of our games are going to be shipping on Windows 10 and Xbox,” Greenawalt said.”

So yes, the PC will be getting all future Turn10 titles. Which, IMHO, is absolutely great news. Forza can be unshackled from the “dumbing down” caused by poor console hardware, and, hopefully, we can have nice things like multi-monitor support, VR, and above 60 fps. Forza deserves a better platform.

Does that mean we get some free DLC packs as they can get more money from the PC version

What… ??

FM6A is Free to play… so how can they make money on something that is free??

LOL, the most played game (non-mobile) in the world by a large margin is free to play (League of Legends). It’s the most streamed game as well. In 10 months of 2014 it made 964 million, that isn’t a typo. There are also no pay walls, you know like releasing a track but requiring you to purchase a 20 dollar car pack. Everything in the game is accessible and free except skins (think paint jobs for characters). You earn IP (in game money) just by playing and can buy everything with it or you can spend money, just like Forza does with tokens and cars.

Yes, 964 million in 10 months.

That’s just insane man!

Also another game that gives free updates like League of Legends is called Minecraft for xbox, pc W10 and PSN

Minecraft isn’t free.

No.

PC version of Forza means 2 things… Both are great for Console gamers.

First, this means Mods… Imagine the amount of people that mod games Like Skyrim, or Fallout. As long as they are using the Modkits provided by developers, they are considered property of Turn10. This in turn could spawn a whole new series, or just simply add generic tracks to the game, Tweaks to Photomode, etc. All of which are in Microsoft’s gameplan.

This can also prove to Microsoft, where they can improve their benchmarks. If a PC running the Same GPU as the Xbox One (~gtx 750ti) can make forward steps based off of tweaks to Windows 10, and remain inert for most of the operating system, they can make those same tweaks to the console version of the OS, making things a LOT more transparent.

I for one will definitely be playing the game on my PC, at 4K resolution, with my Legacy wheel and pedals, that no longer work on Xbox One. I would imagine that someone will make a MOD for Oversampling, at least within the first week, allowing the game to run at 8K resolutions, which can then be compressed down to 4k, for even more sharpness in visuals.

For me, This is a dream come true, since the only thing that held back my enjoyment of Forza 6, has been the photomode limitations… all of which, can now be controlled 100% by me… or at the very least, be screenshots at 4k Resolution… which is where the console NEEDS to be.

Industry standard defines 4K playable @ 40fps.

Both the 980Ti and 390X are capable at 4K* Settings dependant.
Ive downsampled games from just under 4K with my now 3 year old GTX 780… easily doable this day and age…

UWP/UWA isnt moddable.

There is no wheel support because UWP/UWA doesnt support DirectInput.

Mods like Gedosato for Downsampling dont work either. (see 1). You may be able to get away with using DSR (or AMD equiv) as Global nvidia profiles still work apparently. (just not game specific)

Right now I am running a 4-5 year old GTX 750ti OC… It happens to be nearly the same GPU that is in both the PS4 and the XboxONE. The difference I have is how MY PC handles the GPU data.

I can run quite a few games at 4k Resolution, at a fixed 30fps, since I have no way to output it faster than that at the moment, due to GPU limitations.

I run everything at 4k right now, as the primary function of my PC is for Photo Editing.

The main things I would need to upgrade in order to fully enjoy the game running at 4k, would be a graphics card, which might run me a few bucks, and that graphics card might need more watts, so I would need to replace my power supply again. Thats it. This would give my computer such a HUGE boost graphically, that I will probably not need to upgrade again for another 4 or 5 years.

Sure the card might cost me $300+, but it won’t just be for playing Forza… though it is a good reason to finally do what I have been putting off for a few months.

Who knows… It might run just fine… lol, Probably not.

Forza 6 is not coming out on PC, it won’t ever do.

Forza Motorsport 6: Apex is a standalone F2P title which is coming out on W10 exclusively via the Windows Store.

Forza Motorsport 7 onwards and Forza Horizon 3 onwards will be coming out for both XB1 and W10.

Hope this helps.

FM6A , is FM6, but a redux version of it. hence the FM6 part of FM6A…

if they come out with DLC for the APEX version of forza. I will buy. (at least it has a better chance that they will than forza horizon 2 for 360) there was an article a long time ago by Microsoft (cant find the page) but it was talking about DirectX11 with Forza motorsport 5 Beta on a pc and showed the specs of it. Now with the new 4K and DirectX12, I guess it met the requirements for Turn10 and Microsoft to even think of putting FM6apex on PC.

So, I’m happy. yes it is a trunked down version of the game but hey. its FREE. just be lucky it’s not like a Halo Top Down game.

well yes Minecraft is not free. but it’s a one time purchase and anything they add into the game like stained glass, mobs, and area Biomes are all free updates. they don’t say to get stained glass you must pay $10 to get and so on. anyway I am really looking forward to this game though.
