WARNING: I might say (“and” “of” “I” or “You”) 1.1 Million times or give a few biased stand points every now and then or have a few typos, but I’ll try my best.
All I ask is to please try to get the point that im attempting to make and this is from a personal stand point.
==== A little history… ====
My experience starts at Forza Motorsport 2 so I am starting on that note. Im assuming my age around 12, but before get blasted I was on another level than those my age.
Forza Motorsport 2 in its time was untouchable in the (Console Base) sim world, featuring cars of all different brands, and drivers from all over the world.
I have did everything from track racing with the infamous the CornerCutting TomxCable/drag racing my wheelie Porsche, to “Doing It Sideways” with DIS, and Team BLJK’s Mr Fuji.
Their was a growing drifting world and everyone knew everyone.
Around this time drifting was the new thing and everyone wanted to be like Team Blackjack. They made videos showing off their drifting talents and made an impact on the Forza community. Recognizing this Turn 10 invited them to help in the creation of Forza Motorsport 3; So you can guess how big of an impact Team BLJK had on the Forza Motorsport community.
We kinda sorta had a say-so in the developement of the game basically.
Note: When I refer to Forza Motorsport 2’s physics I speak from within it’s time zone.
==== Forza Motorsport 3 was awesome ====
Forza Motorsport 3 was a huge improvement of what was already thought of as “Amazing” on a Sim like basis.
It included Pro’s and Cons of:
Pros…
Improved Physics
Improved auction house
Storefront
New Tracks
Fujimi Kaido
Better graphics
Unique car sounds
Tuning worked better
and many other features such as tag to enjoy yourself
Cons…
Missing different tire brands from Fm2
No Tire Smoke that we asked for. (None AT ALL)
Took out the SnakeTracks(Later added)
New cars a Con?, but Why?
Older cars were replaced or removed such as my beautiful and beloved Re Amemiya Rx-7 or the Veilside supra… T_T Sry I had to…
Example: Their were replacements for cars such as an old Mustang took out and a newer model taking its place; which got extremely annoying overtime.
==== Jumping to Forza Motorsport 4… An Upgrade, I guess ====
Forza 4 is basically Forza 3 Ultimate, plus all of its DLC, minor graphics/track fixes, and another handful of cars. To “Replace” older cars that is.
Pro’s:
Drag Tire’s Yay!!!My honda could launch ![]()
Included a 240sx and many other cars.
Con’s:
Again we notice we are missing a few cars but have new “Replacements”
No NewYork Track.
Unrealistic and low tire smoke, but it was better than nothing.
Felt as if Fm4 was made for drifting; I was driving in the rain. which was fun when I was drifting and helped alot, but before someone screams bias, realize that 50% of my time was spent drifting so this is by no means biased, I simply just lost a love for racing.
It wasn’t as bad as I make it to be, but I was confused, I didn’t know if Fm3 was a simulator or if Fm4 was and how a simulator was supposed to feel.
Forza Plague(At the bottom of the page)
==== Something a bit different on the Horizon… ====
Forza Horizon was good for what it was; an open world game, and better yet, Turn10’s first.
Horizon had a huge impact on the community and was a good mix between a sim and an arcade like game.
Pro’s:
Something new for T10 Franchise
Arcade with a Sim feel.
Open World
Con’s:
No Tuning
EXTREME Lack of cars
EXTREME Lack of versatility in cars
No Multi-Screen(Not 100% Sure)
Felt like a Need For Speed. Quite a large amount of children got their hands on Horizon and the community was horrible.
(Personal Opinion) Everyone and their grandma could be good at the game it just wasn’t The Forza I knew. It was entirely too easy.
==== Turn 10 Franchise hits a SinkHole with Forza Motorsport 5… [(More like Forza 4.5) I blame Microsoft] ====
I don’t know where to start but all I know is that Fm5 was half finished and it had so much potential by the looks of it.
Pros:
Way better graphics
BEST Physics engine
Cons:
Everything LOL
No Multi Screen
Extreme lack of cars
Extreme lack of tracks (Replacement issue) No Fujimi Kaido
Missing Tsukuba and Suzuka ever single other track that is important to sims.
Lack of working “Vote To Kick” system and internet assumption/Lag Compensation.
Horrible invisible wall around some cars like the old DLC Jetta
Horrible crash sim system
No auction
WORST: No Private but online lobby search option
The list could go on forever but im just going to stop here… Im still disappointed.
==== A better Horizon…====
I sadly don’t have too much to say about Forza Horizon 2 as it is a good open world game. The best actually.
Pro’s:
Better Physics
Better Graphics
New Enviroment
New cars
Con’s:
Forza Plague
They throw in things such as the new Storm Island DLC to add a bit of variety, but it ceases to impress me; in fact, the only thing I like about the pack is that
If I put the Storm Island’s springs on a drift car I have what seems to be a bit more steering angle/shifted caster angle.
Although they try, I feel like its something just to entertain us with for awhile or make a quick buck or both.
==== THE FORZA PLAGUE ====
For My Drag Racers
This has seemed to reap every Forza from the beginning.
Imbalances from a real life stand point
If you feel like im asking for alot Note that the games are branded as simulators so hear me out; this Is also based off of a perfect situation scenario.
All Wheel Drive Dilemma…Biased
- All built AWDs launches on any FWD.
- All built AWDs launches on any RWD.
Catch - FWD almost never catches up.
- Practically no way possible for AWD to outrun a RWD on the Top end.
Rear Wheel Drive Dilemma…Mediocre
- All built RWDs have a higher Top end vs Awd/Fwd
- All built RWDs launch on FWD.
Catch
1/2. No chance of catching up
FWD Dilemma…Horrible
Only bad things to say
1.Horrific Launch
2.472Hp Honda feels like 290Hp when drag racing a Rwd vehicle.
Only Pro even though its not dDrag related is the good but still limited to lower class racing performance.
Though most of the Dilemma’s are true they are quite a bit exaggerated. (Drag Racing wise)
Don’t believe me? Go watch a drag video that says cars with ranges of 400-500 Hp and watch the following dilemma’s take place.
==== Summing It All Up and a **** a few Annoying questions ====
What happened to that beautiful and quite smart tire system implemented into Forza 2 that felt different and there wasn’t? (Which I still don’t know what brand they were)
Where is my drop dead beautiful Silver/Metallic RE Amemiya Rx-7 From Fm2 or a widebody-kit that I don’t have to paint?, but better yet a bodykit.
Where is my Daigo Saito wing that I want to slap on the back of a Jzx100…? (Which still isn’t in Forza).
It wasn’t until after 2 Forza releases that the drift community received the dreaded tire smoke they sought after; now does it improve just a little more?
Where is the Steering-Lock system or that extra camber look that a few might like at a car meet. -2.0 Camber visually appears as less camber but yet changes functionality a lot. Why cant I have both? Point is -5.0 Prob Looks like in real lifes -2.0 to -2.8 But function un-accordingly.
Why is a Fwd or even a Rwd COMPLETELY outclassed by AWD cars of the same types.==== TURN 10 PLAGUE ====
Can we get Suzuka, Tsukuba, and Fujimi Back?
Why is Forza getting so easy that we are now getting rewarded for hitting poles and its so easy that anyone can get the game and be good. Leading to inexperienced children ruining games because they aren’t taught to be good at the game by working harder.
==== Extra’s & Notes ====
Extra: A friend Ddelgado95 just mentioned that Turn10 has a habit of replacing things rather than adding… Such as tracks , vehicles, etc.
Personal input towards T10: The community will always have a want, that’s just people. Their are too many cars and tracks to be “Replacing”.
Why does some Forza’s (Not Horizon Versions) feel different each time. Which one is the real feel?
Will the AWD, RWD, and FWD differences be fixed?
Will we have an option of adding Cones and minor obsticles on course to spice things up while racing? Or a clipping point for drifting?
With cars that are used (Jzx100) are just examples but of some long requested cars.
Note: When I speak on a Forza I speak from within that time-zone. I don’t talk about “Tire Smoke” in Fm2 because it was not trending.
Note: I am an avid player of Forza and play the game on a Day-To-Day Basis.
Note:Again I have no special narrating or publishing skills.
Also, I respect the effort of each and every member of the Turn 10 Studio, Playground Games, Summo Digital, and Microsoft Studio development team and I by no means am trying to degrade them or takeaway their work.
Forza is the best and only console sim game that I choose to play because of its superb nature to other games. So with that said Forza Motorsport 6 better make me drool uncontrollably or im going to be highly pissed.
DESCRLPTLON…
