Why have popular cars disappeared

I’ve always wondered why some very popular cars were taken out of forza some of these include the gumpert Apollo and the Lamborghini sesto elemento they both in forza 4 and these are not the only cars that disappeared but these are the ones off the top of my head please comment if you know why these were taken out or if you have any cars that were in previous forza games that were sadly removed

Licensing or have to be remodeled.

Probably this right here.

When it come time to remodel cars for next gen games, I’d assume that it can be a problem for extremely rare cars. Personally, I miss the Ferrari F50 GT. Since there are only 3 in the world, I’d think modeling one with the detail that we now see would be pretty hard if they couldn’t get their hands on one. The Lamborghini Veneno is another of my personal favorites. Since it was in the last game, I’m assuming it’ll make it into Horizon 3. But since there are only 4 of those in the world, by the time our games get that next big jump, I’m thinking we might not get the Veneno then. Maybe that’s why we haven’t had the Sesto Elemento since games started being made for Xbox One? I’d love to see one of those in game again.

Sometimes, it’s due to licensing reasons. Just because we were able to license a car for use in one or more games doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be possible for another game - that’s not how it works. Sometimes it is due to production realities: a matter of priority, schedule, and budget we have to work with for each title.

Cars we shipped on Xbox 360 don’t take as much time and resource to rebuild for current gen as all-new cars, but they still take a considerable amount of effort that has to be weighed against adding all new cars.

We’re well aware of the community’s top 100 cars for FM6 (many of which carry over into FH3 wish lists) now thanks to ManteoMax’s compiled list, and we’ll continue to tick those off as well as we can moving forward.

Isn’t this the same reason why Lot’s of racing games aren’t backwards compatible yet, because of Licensing? I’ve been waiting a while for games like Forza and Need for Speed but haven’t seen them pop up yet for Backwards Compatibility.

Grid and a few dirt games are backwards compatible, they arent “new” games or remastered i doubt licensing has anything to do with it. When you buy or play a 360 game its still a 360 game, its not an xbox one version. Im sure not every game works well with backwards compatibility, red dead redemption took quite awhile to optimize and test before it was released. They also just enabled multidisc support, which forza 4 was. If theres an online portion of a game that also must be taken into account for increased server use, which cost money to maintain. The biggest reason i think some games might not become backwards compatible is the effect they may have on current gen sales, which is what i think is holding back forza 4 and games like call of duty. No matter how much nicer the newer games look they are extremely similiar games. Some games like forza 4 in my opinion hold up surprisingly well graphically. They were definitely pushing the 360 to the limit with that title and it shows. Couple that with the fact that it was a locked 60fps even then it would really be one of the best racing games available on xbox one.

Some cars who are whe think there are very important aren’t that in real. Same for racetracks. Fujimo kaido wasn’t play that much. I loved that track but sadly not enough others. The same is for the cars.
Then it’s a budget question. If you want to bring some new cars in, then you have take others out. Balancing play a role too.
And very important the car manufacturers have interest too. So they try take influence while licensing process. The say you get the license but when want see this car in the game.
There are a lot interest behind licensing arrangements. Sometimes other license holder have exclusive rights.
But all in all playground need room for the new cars and only for that single reason alone some must gone.

I can count easily 30 former cars that I want to see in fm6. But thats part of the buisness. At the other side whe get a lot of new stuff.

The Syclone is not going to be in it for the 3rd straight time but the Vandura is? Why?
( edit. week 2 list anounced Syclone but not Typhoon, still mad. )

Because FM6 rocks the Syclone… :stuck_out_tongue:

to grim racer: At least we have cyclone. Also Vandura vs Ford Transit anyone?

This isn’t a wish list topic, just a, “where is it?”

The 1997 Dodge Viper GTS. You know, the original Blue with white stripes.

I’ve looked at the complete car list and it’s not on there. Come on, they have two versions of the ACR Viper, but not the original GTS? That car is so beautiful…

Is it at least a unicorn car?

if it ever going to be in the game. My luck it be a DLC car down the road. But I be surprises it one those cars you must do some event to get it. I already got a HALO theme unicorn already for playing HALO 5 and HALO:MCC.

It didnt make it in the game. They have the 1999 Dodge Viper ACR but not the GTS

2010 Saleen S5S Raptor
What ever happened to this car? They added it to the original Forza Horizon as a unicorn but it hasn’t seen light in another Forza game since. This car is beautiful and sounds amazing, it’s such a shame that it only made it to one game in the series. I was hoping it made it to FH3 but it’s not looking like it is unfortunately. I guess there’s a slight chance they may add it as DLC but I doubt it as no one really talks about it or requests it to be added again. RIP to one of my favorite cars. :,(

The S5S was also in Forza Motorsport 3 and 4. it was in the Forza genre in 3 of them over all.

Sad guess.
Saleen currently does not own S5S, and a license for this car.
They regained the license of S7, but S5S seems not to be the case.

Message for T10:

I agree for the problem of licenses, time or budget (I know it, every project is like this), but I think that all is possible;

Licenses: for the car-makers, a video-game like Forza Horizon 3 is a good advertising for their cars (Ford understood it with the F150 and the GT), I don’t understand why a license is only available for only one game (FM4 for instance). Nowadays most of cars were first created in 3D, this is not complicate to send the folder to you.

Time and budget: T10, remember you have a lot of fan that sure they would like to help you, even for free. If you have to go on a foreign country to modelize some car, they are already here.

You can think I’m crazy (euhhhhhhh… you surely right) but I’m not the only one who think about this.

Why are there never any Mitsubishi Eclipse cars in the Horizon series yet they’re prominent in the motorsport series other than that Fast and Furious dlc pack version. It’s one of my favs and a car I hope gets added in via dlc since it seems like it isn’t in the base game.

As for removed content over time, whatever happened to:

Sunet peninsula?? (Best track ever in my humble opinion)

The 1970 Buick GSX. what gives with that, it’s in FH2, shove that lovely beast in FH3 darn it!

I also agree with the above poster in reference to the original viper, it was sexy. .

But knowing our luck we’ll get the gremlin or that stupid Aztec (what we’re you thinking???)

Rant over. :joy:

They’re added because some people like them. I personally sigh when we get another super/hyper car added. Just depends on who it is.
