Cars taken out from FM6 and FH3?

I have noticed a number of cars missing from previous forza games that i used to love driving. A good example is the 2013 Ford Focus ST (as i am an owner of the '14) and it was great having a digital version of my own car to mess around with designs and tunes, and the focus st has become a very popular car in just about every market globally, as the big brother to the fiesta st.
Its kind of disappointing to see some favourite cars missing, and i find it hard to believe a focus st will be a dlc worthy car in the future. Just curious why are they taking cars out from the last game when the marketing was all about having such a large list of cars?
Seems counter productive and its disappointing.

Ultimately, any car that appears in Forza is a car we at Turn 10 decided to include. For cars that appeared in a previous Forza title but do not in the current game, there are many reasons. I’ll summarize a few here:

Sometimes it’s a choice we made to make room for another car we felt was more important for the title. Game design balance might be a factor. Or disc space: there’s only so much room on the physical disc. Project budget or schedule impact another: porting and licensing cars from earlier titles in addition to building and licensing new cars all come with resource cost we have to prioritize.
Sometimes we decide that a car has been made redundant by a higher trim version or newer model that otherwise is too similar to an older model to justify both. Sometimes we are unable to license a particular car by a manufacturer, or any car by a manufacturer (or even multiple OEMs represented by the same agency) for one reason or another, even if it was in last year’s game. There are quite a few cars in the community top 100 list that fall under this category, but we’ll keep trying.

There’s a reason that no other racing game features so many manufacturers: it’s really hard! It takes a dedicated team of professional licensing and legal experts working year-round to maintain strong relationships with OEMs, race teams, and the agencies and lawyers who represent them, as well negotiating ever-changing contract terms, costs, and often changing personal contacts. The desire to have every car that has appeared in Forza to be included in every new Forza is understandable, but to expect that is just not realistic from a game design, licensing, or business perspective.

Even when a manufacturer asks us to put their shiny new car in the game, it still has to be licensed, which isn’t free. It all piles up if you multiply that by dozens of car makers and multiple models for each. But that’s the price of doing business. There are benefits for us in that some of these manufacturers will amplify attention for our games or DLC on their website and social media.

However i agree with everybody else on here as well. Especially the off road vehichles. If there’s no dirt or rally tracks than why all the off road vehicles? I dont want to drive a ram runner around Silverstone anymore than id want to take a Ford GT supercar to the baja 1000 lol
Just one more thing that is kind of a let down. I love the forza series but its unfortunate the game isnt complete and any further disappointments just seem that much worse

I’m a sucker for LMP cars. A few cars I noticed missing in FM5 & FM6 but were in FM4 and back in FM7 are the Oreca FML09s, Sauber C9, and Dyson Lola B09/86. I haven’t seen the Audi R10s since FM4 or Acura ARX-01b or a. Also the Audi R8 is now MIA. If I remember correctly there were some DTM cars back around FM4.

Yeah if they got rid of the dumb cars that don’t belong in a “ Forza Motorsport” game (off-road trucks, off-road SUV’s, buggy’s, stadium trucks, limos etc.) they could have included many great cars that had already been in FM5 and FM6 that got cut (Bentley Speed 8, Focus ST etc.). Hell I’m not a fan of the silly Forza Edition cars either.

The bottom line is Turn 10 needs to focus more on simulating motorsport and proper driving physics. I’d also rather they focus on a smaller number of cars that are more realistic. I’d like to see proper groups of modern race cars too (GT3, GTE, LMP1, P2, DPI etc.). And instead of homologating all the cars they should have just lumped cars together that have similar performance or used real racing spec classes.

I was really disappointed to find that the Mercedes SLR McLaren was not in the game. It was a car that got leaked as a potential DLC/unicorn car for FH3, and I anticipated the car in that game, when it didn’t come out, I was okay with it because I thought it would at least make it to FM7. NOPE! Luckily I have it in FM6.

I feel your guy’s pain… The BMW Z8 and Sunbeam Tiger, two of my personal favorite cars were cut. The Sunbeam Tiger was in FM6 as DLC and was added in a barn find in FH3 and the BMW Z8 was in Forza 5 as DLC and was in FM6 at launch… I have no clue why they were cut but that’s Turn 10 for you.

Edit: BMW Z8 is actually in the game, just locked…

I feel your guy’s pain… The BMW Z8 and Sunbeam Tiger, two of my personal favorite cars were cut. The Sunbeam Tiger was in FM6 as DLC and was added in a barn find in FH3 and the BMW Z8 was in Forza 5 as DLC and was in FM6 at launch… I have no clue why they were cut but that’s Turn 10 for you.

BMW Z8 is in FM7. It’s one of the over 100 locked cars. I agree about the McLaren SLR. Miss that one too.
