Why does the Rip Rod only have 1 gear (which is death to my ears)?

I think I remember in FH3 it has multiple gears. With only one gear the constant high-pitched sound makes this can unusable for me.

Well I don’t know why the rip rod had an 8-speed sequential transmission in FH3 because the actual Ford Hot wheels Rip Rod from 2012 has an automatic transmission Drive+Reverse. Good that they’ve restored the correct transmission, however there’s now a new problem. The Rip Rod in FM7, the Can Am and the Polaris RZR EXP1000 in FH4 all use the same auto transmission and the RPM sound doesn’t match the engine speed. The vehicles quickly jump to sounding like it’s at max RPM but accelerate at a standard pace, something needs to be sorted out.

Do you really think “Drive” on most automatic transmissions only consists of one gear?

The actual transmissions in all of those vehicles are cvt’s, which tend to hold a rpm right in the middle of the powerband to optimize acceleration. The sound in forza is way more pronounced than it is irl, but not to far off of how it really is.

There is a Can Am always ripping around at the lake my cabin is at, can confirm it holds the same dreadful note after it hits a certain RPM. It’s infinitely more annoying than the quad they used to have.

Interesting to know about the real thing thanks for the info, I thought something was horribly wrong.

Oh my bad I wasn’t even thinking, come to think of it that’s a really good way of remembering the difference between CVT and Auto

You can upgrade the gearbox and then have six gears available. Where is the problem?

I like driving stock cars.

clearly it has 2 gears not just 1 as seen in the settings . You should be able to use it .
Yes you can upgrade to a race gearbox but that isnt the point is it ?
Needs fixing as it is stuck in one gear high revving but doesnt even reach the rev limiter .
Definitely not right in my opinion

There´s definitely something wrong with the Rip Rod. After not winning with the stock car I bought the best engine available - just to get the same 170 km/h top speed. Then I changed the gear box, but the result was the same. I looked at the gear ratio which was around 5.9 overall and went down to 2.8. Unlike other cars the gear graphics went to the right of the gear window, leaving just two ot three bars visible making the display useless. But at least the top speed nearly doubled and when racing the gears finally changed where it stuck before in one gear. Won two races and I don´t think I´ll use this car anymore.
