Why does the game make me buy the cars for certain races?

I am fairly new to the game…not even sure if I can ask this here…

For example, I was trying to do the street race “Super Hot Hatch” Then it tells me to buy the car for it and gave me an option of A-Class AMG, Focus RS, and I think a Citron.
I made sure that I actually have a Super Hot Hatch, a VW Golf R. I even bought an RS3 just to make sure again. However, it still gives me a choice of only those three cars that I mentioned earlier.
I just don’t understand haha.

Check the class, that is required in race. Maybe you have to play with car, that is - for example - in maximum A800, but u got S1.

you have to give a look to the classification. A800, B700,… and so on.
Maybe, the race needs: “Super Hot Hatches” with a Class “A700”.
If you have cars that are powerfuller than A700, you can’t use it in that race.
