I can speed around the map no issue, dirt or asphalt, but the moment i get into an online race it’s like the car doesnt want to turn.
It could be you’re just under more pressure since you’re racing real people, and you’re pushing the car more. I’ve always found myself pushing it to the limit more online as I’m more anxious to win.
Network lag maybe?
Although most of the time I can’t really complain about such issues, but there has been maybe 3-4 instances so far, where my input and what was happening on the screen was way off (massive input lag, impossible to drive fast). In those cases, I doubt it was just a network lag (can’t really explain it).
I’m seeing this too. I can smash my way around the map with finesse in Freeroam but as soon as I’m in a race it’s as if the game’s nerfing me.
As you’re blasting around in free roam your tyres are warmed up, giving you more grip. But when you start a race (I’ve never checked the start temp specifically) but it could be because your tyres are starting cold and you’ll face a loss of grip. Maybe increase tyre pressure a tad (Sweet spot is 33psi after the tyres are warm) and take it easy turn one, you notice alot of people don’t do that and end up in some hedge somewhere.
Does not have to be online either. In any race you join the car always seems to handle a bit differently to how it does just driving around at full race speeds.
Sure it is a race adjustment mechanic to try and make racing closer or something…
edit: Thank god finally out of the forum post moderation crap after nearly a month of posting, never joined a forum with such an attitude before.
I think its a combination of network lag and so much happening on screen (in game) at once, that it causes performance like issues. Thus the game runs less smoothly than it would in single player/free roam.
Yeah I find it ridiculous that when I post something, a moderator has to read it first before being allowed to be posted. Defeats the point of ever helping anyone on here, because by the time it gets scrutinised, inspected and whatever else… the post has probably already been answered by someone else etc.
