I’ve been waiting forever to see fixes to this issue but to no avail.
Majority of road cars in the game sound like they are race cars and have no cockpit insulation or sound deadening whatsoever. Why can’t T10 get these details right? Who’s running the show, Mickey Mouse?
My 7.1 amp sounds like it’s got old radio speakers connected to it when driving from cockpit view in road cars.
This effects most road cars and there’s too many to list. I’m not a beta tester. This is T10’s job!

Because this is Forza’s way of “wowing” the player by exaggerating the effects.
In reality, with standard exhausts (even more so in the age of Euro5 and other stringent regulations), car sounds are much more tame.

Because Forza can’t get sound design right.
find it only sounds like that if you upgrade the trans missions at all
Wrong. I’m not even talking about trans whine. Get into some of the modern Skylines or 911s. The engine/exhaust note sounds like it’s coming from a distant cave or tunnel.
I can’t say my audio issues are the same, since I use headphones. Your 7.1 system is very different, of course.
But many road cars for me, going back to the last patch, are incredibly quiet in the interior view. All that is actually audible, is the echo bouncing off the grandstands or walls around the track. It does sound like the exhaust is coming from a distant cave, fading in and out as I pass grandstands or get near walls.
It’s still this way on Update 9.
This makes gameplay annoyingly difficult. Without hearing the engine note, I’m constantly at or over my redline, and missing shifts. Yesterday, I was hearing engine audio and shifting away, but my car wasn’t responding in a way that made sense.
Come to find out, I was hearing the engine of the car I was racing against, and shifting on HIS engine note. Took a couple of turns before I realized what was going on.
When the AI car pulled away, the engine sound faded away, and I was again in the quiet (with some echoes).

oh you mean that noise. yaeh all cars sound horrible like that
Exactly! There’s no depth and nuance to the engine and exhaust so there’s no telling when to shift or how aggressively the engine/exhaust is working. Feels completely disconnected from the car.
Has to be improved at some point. Hate using cockpit view because of it. All it takes is dashcam videos on YT… You can clearly hear the engine working and you almost know when to shift without even looking at the rev needle.
