Who's on a wheel?

Let’s see those setups!

I used to play controller, my wife got me a wheel for Christmas, I think she’s regretting her life choices now haha.
I would play career on wheel and controller online. Now it’s all wheel all the time.

Did a stand in front of the couch for a bit. Then got a chair, front and rear bass shakers operating through simhub.

Want to add 2 more, one for each wheel end.

Then direct drive wheel upgrade. Probably something Xbox, PC and PlayStation compatible. So Fanatec is my likely choice.

Hello. I also use a wheel, Fanatec DD1 Podium. Please go to the Fanatec forum and look at the problems that Fanatec is having at the moment, and these problems are really serious. There is talk of insolvency and the SOFTWARE is very problematic, the faulty SOFTWARE means that the wheel base can completely block, and if you need a repair you have to wait for two months, so PLEASE look at the problems, it is very important, all this stuff costs a lot of money. I hope I was able to or can save you some trouble.

I’m on a CSL DD. I’ve been using a FFB wheel for the majority of Forza Motorsport titles. The only FM game I didnt at least try with a wheel is FM5… But that is something I never got around to doing. Other than that, its 100% wheel for me.

I’m on PC. My gear is…
Fanatec CSL DD 8Nm.
CSL Elite V1 LC pedals w/ Hall effect sensors.
Thrustmaster TH8A shifter.

Incredible setup and that sound system especially :ok_hand::sweat_smile:

How does Forza sound in your rig?

What’s there sounds amazing, but I do feel like the sound on this title needs some work.

It’s a 5.2.4 setup, I used to run 7.1. went 5.1.2. now I’m 5.2.4, I’ll take front and rear heights any day over mid heights and rears.

I added a second sub behind the couch. Now the bass doesn’t sound directional. Such an upgrade over single sub.

Lossless Atmos is insane. There’s a demo called amaze in the jungle with a bird the flys around you, low then high.
If you close your eyes, you would swear you were in a jungle with the bird right there.
When it rains its sounds so real.

77" Sony OLED tops it off nicely. Great for movies and games. I’d go to a stand alone setup with a screen, but I couldn’t match what I have. So I push my rig around a lot. :joy:

I’ve definitely read some things. I just want something that is PlayStation compatible too.

I do not have a ton of faith in the future of this title.

If AC2 is good, I’ll be less worried about PlayStation compatibility. But I’m not a big fan of AC, I think partly cause it looks so terrible. Picked up ACC when it was on sale the other day. Also over meh graphics.

G923 here when I feel like it. Still faster w the hand control certain tracks.

OK, that sounds good that you’ve already read something about it. If you’re in a good financial situation, I recommend buying a used DD1 or DD2 but licensed as a Playstation & PC, then the Fanatec Mclaren GT3 Wheel and that will turn a Playstation licensed wheelbase into an Xbox licensed wheelbase. I’m not sure if that works with other Fanatec wheelbases but I think it will work there too. I don’t know where you’re from but eBay has some for sale, even with a guarantee. They were bought on Black Friday last year. Is that called Black Friday🤷‍♂️ I’m from Germany and there are a few on offer there.

Yeh… Suffice to say, this is an insane rig and you are pushing it :joy:

Forza needs work for sure but have you heard some of the bikes in Ride 5 or the premium/good quality jet fighters in Flight Simulator '20?

Those two will blow your socks off and good material for showing off your sound system :+1:

I’ll have to check them out. Some games are just next level. I was open back sennheiser’s for years. Love my discrete Atmos setup now.

So do you just use that couch for naps or do you move the wheel rig on family movie nights hahaha

Makes my 3.1 QLED setup look lame.

Move it in and out every time I play.

Easy to move, lots of space to the left of the couch.

I used to think it would be a pain, takes like 30 seconds. Headphone cable to PC, USB to Xbox and plug in the wall.

Fanatec CSW 2.5/Elite Pedals V2/Logitech Shifter(modded to upshift/downshift only) The ffb works very well in this game with my setup. The attention to detail in the ffb shines through, and although I have my wheel no-where near 8mn full setting(I use roughly 4nm force-45%), I can feel a lot of information coming through, makes me smile from time to time. The 935 Porsche is a good example, so much fun to rip sideways around corners…

Fanatec CSL DD 8nm
Maclaren wheel
AMD 6700xt & 6700x win 11
AOC 2k monitor
Game runs great, few stuttering issues at the start of some prac sessions. I would never play with a controller this works great and is way too much fun.
Subaru Front seat, pvc rig.
I added a wood base cause I am getting too old to get in and out.
If they would add Bathurst I would be in heaven.

What software are you running on the second screen?

I have that rim too, although I use my wrc rally rim mostly. The McLaren GT3 rim has loads of buttons and is a wicked bang for the buck wheel.

Dashpanel, you can buy it on steam, it works with phones and tablets too.

I don’t use a wheel and never will use a wheel.

I’m using a TX and ferrari rim, with T3PA pedals.

Welcome to club, it’s a small and exclusive one!

ACC is a lot older remember, but it’s far more immersive and realistic. Fm feels like an arcade game in comparison.

Not a knock on Forza, just very different things.

I agree AC is really showing it’s age, I bought AC and ACC at the same time and can’t put ACC down.

Regarding Fanatec products and Playstation compatibility, the chip that allows compatibility is in the base. So if you want to play on PS, you are limited to ONLY wheelbases which have this chip (but you can use any Fanatec wheel you want with it).

Xbox compatibility, on the other hand, is determined by the presence of the chip in the wheel itself. So you can use any Fanatec wheelbase you want, as long as the wheel is Xbox compatible.

Simply put, PS chip is in the base. Xbox chip is in the wheel. Use a PS base and an Xbox wheel, and the entire setup will be compatible with either console.
