Yep and so was Mine Xbox One S 2TB Now all we need is for Forza Or Microsoft to shed some light on this, wonder what it will be later on tonight will it be 67 or 95 ???
Quick question. Why does the above picture show the addons still listed below the game? I have an S and it shows the 95 gig installed but none of the car packs or VIP are showing under it in Manage Game. But in the MS Store they all show installed and they also show in Recently Installed.
I have no idea. I have an original One … not a One S. To the best of my recollection, all expansion packs, DLC packs and add ons have always shown up under the base game of all games on my console.
I seriously doubt there is some magical unpacking going on. It would be the first time, the store isn’t built for that. Its beauty is that you download nothing but the complete current version, latest updates included. Having it compressed would lead to many problems. So the most likely explanation is this: A glitch. That lets some see a wrong amount - or the amount it will require with the 4K update. Because there is no way the game uncompresses the game to 95 GB and then a night later compresses it back to 67. 67 GB is the size of the full game including the day one patch. You will be able to download an additional 30+ GB on One X.
Your theory does not line up with what T10 have announced regarding the game size. Their release says that the launch-day size of the base game on XBox without 4K assets is 95GB.
Edit: Also, download file compression/decompression is not some “new” or “magical” thing … game developers have been doing it for years.
Uncompressing and then compressing again is not normal. I know that compressed assets are a thing, but that would mean you need 163 GB of free space. To download 67 GB which then get uncompressed to 95,6 GB. And I tell you again, the store currently doesn’t support that, it never has even in the 360 days. It is built around downloading the full installed latest version of the game, no installations or patches necessary. And I wouldn’t put that much relevance to the 95 GB number from Microsoft as well. Turn 10 probably told PR that there are 45 GB on disc and there will be a 50 GB day one patch. PR be like ok, that’s 95 total. But that’s not how it works. Patches replace existing data, there are games on Xbox One that are 20 GB, receive a 18 GB patch and end up at 21 GB total.
It’s just a glitch in showing the true size, best guess is that it uses 67 GB and reserves another 28 GB for the whole streaming process that is done while loading the game. And for extracting the currently used audio files from the asset folder. Stuff like that. The fact that the game size went from 67 to 95 to 67 GB is proof that it is just showing the wrong size.
