I fast travel to everyone one of them I get. The odds are in the numbers, so the more I go - the better the odds for a decent car.
And, it’s not really even about the car, I have pretty much everything I need.
It’s just the anticipation of what I might get that keeps me coming back.
I give what I would want to get - middle of the line with an occasional Holy Cr4p car to keep it fun.
For some reason, Devo’s just drop out of the sky for me, so I gift those as the OP car most often.
The best car I have ever received - when it was new and fresh was a Sesto.
I collected all the cars where I could add lightbars and put nice liveries on them. Gifted them all today. Decided I never use them and got annoyed at them populating my duplicates list. Put up some others for auction as well.
Yep, there’s that “Present” drop (whatever it’s called) in Mulege that lets you buy from a short list of cars to send to a specified friend or a random player, once a week plus a bonus gift on Dec 25 and Jan 1. After that you can send as many gifts as you like through the Gift option at Barns or presumably the Gift tab in the menu and they will also count to the “goal” prizes. Sounds like you have it figured.
Weird, maybe the devs messed something up with the update. Despite having just one message saying somthing other that your gift was delivered I got several kudos,…
Anything I can get my hands on that I’m not interested in (in my garage I have precisely the 660 cars in the game so far, with the exception of the ford GT that comes with USA nail polish required) - Season Rewards duplicates/triplicates - all of the raffle and super raffle rewards Sometimes (often) real merguez, sometimes nice finds that I send to “New Players” first.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s been months since I’ve picked up the gifts that are intended for me; as it’s a model that I already have, it will be trash or a gift, in addition to the waste of cinematic time “Wow, that’s generous”.
to be honest, i have been saving all the duplicates for the past 4 or 5 weeks just for the santa sharing we knew was coming. it ranges from cheap hatchbacks to hypercars. there all gone now!
My favourite spree was celebrating winning the S2 Extreme Track Toys Tour by gifting out 50 Ferrari F50 GT’s in my “blurple” racing colours with the tune I used. (Rexazr)
I still remember when that car arrived as DLC and broke FM2.
Only ones I think people would be happy to receive, anything I win in WS’s with a minimum sell value of 100k I gift now, the rest get sold, and any seasonal prize car gets binned unless it’s a standout one in which case I gift those too.
Always to new players too, though we know how flimsy that can be.
If it’s a big ticket car I’ll always send it with my gamertag too.
Quantity would be my guess. So in a way I guess junk is ok, since we get the goals sooner and easier. But as soon as that is done if the devs put in a “return to sender” option when picking up gifts that would be great and probably see a sharp drop in junk being sent. If the sender knows they’re just going to get it dumped right back in their laps. And I mean sent to their garage for them to deal with all over again.
Of course, last year, somebody here was convinced the tracking meter was entirely artificial. A simple progress program meant to look like users were participating but guaranteed to “deliver” the prizes in time for Christmas. Because how bad would it look if nothing happened.
Not saying you’re wrong but that’s not been my experience/recollection. Over the same year I’ve seen no correlation between giving and receiving. Not in quality or quantity one way or the other.
I have seen hot and cold periods of receiving gifts though. Presumably with the fluctuation in players rising and falling. Maybe. And in general the quality of gifts has no correlation with the quantity, with quality generally being low.
Perhaps your perception is simply an observation matching outside influences by pure chance ? It’s also possible my own observations are likewise flawed. There’s really no way to know, and the people who have the data aren’t sharing, or likely to, or likely to be believed in any case if they did.
As a followup aside… I did expect (and perhaps dreaded) being flooded with calls to a gift in a barn with the Christmas thing. Hasn’t happened. Yet anyway. I think I’ve had one a day even with multiple startups throughout those days and hours played. Not sure what to make of that. A lack of giving ? A lack of players ? A behind the scenes bot fake delivering gifts to empty accounts and sparing us regular players to no more than “one per day” ?
