Where's the Online Freeroam?

The online freeroam in Forza Horizon 3 was the best thing ever in the game, but in FH 4, where is it? am I missing something? Clearly “team adventure” and "horizon life is the ONLY THINGS in Multiplayer…right? Where’s the ACTUAL freeroam with other people?

… Horizon Life IS the online free roam.

MAJOR issues with this.It doesn’t FEEL like an online freeroam! Where’s the communication with other players? Where’s the “choose what race you want to face off against others”? Where’s the people who want to drag race? Not everyone likes doing team races…I feel a bit conned.

Press the start button and you can see in the right lower corner information about the people and how many that are in your session.

go to a drag race and choose pvp?

Yeah, and sit in a non-existant queue waiting for nobody to join.
You don’t see this as a problem yet?

then play with somebody in a convoy, friends ore randoms that wants to drag race. problem solved. you got one in this thread allready.

If that’s the ONLY WAY to do pvp, then there’s obviously something wrong, isn’t there? I never had to rely on that for forza horizon 3 or 2, or ANY of the horizon games for that matter. Cept now, this is different? It’s confusing how you can still pretend there isn’t a genuine online problem yet there is. a ‘convoy’? really? That’s your solution. wow. Thanks. Like I haven’t thought of THAT one before.

I think I have setup pvp races about 5 times now and no-one has joined. Is there a reason for this? Is everyone just to busy completing career mode to join or does nobody know how to join? You would expect out of 72 players, at least one person would join each time.

Same here. I’ve only had one other person join. The only luck I’ve had doing multiplayer races is doing the team adventure races and I don’t like those at all. I just want to do normal multiplayer races :frowning:

Well, the game has, technically, not been released yet. Only wealthy people are racing right now. Wait a couple days until the game is released and more people are joining the queues.

Also, people are working towards completing the game, some people will avoid pvp races during the first days so they can advance faster.

but… but… the plebs… There will be a lot of fun with a horde of underaged teens with controllers and only cosmetic damage turned on ramming everybody else… Already had one dude ramming me of the road in a team event (…). Team blue (us) took the spots 1-4 with me being in third and catching up. Dude behind me abused me to slow his car down, the result was that after the incident I rejoined dead last.

Yeah the game hasn’t even officially launched yet. I know I’m not messing with the pvp portion of the game until my friends get the game on Tuesday. So for mean time I’m just working on the SP stuff until then. But it’s pretty cool seeing over 50 players roaming around.

just tried to give you some solutions… chill out.

You can drive with up to 7 players in a convoy. works great.

Also i just tried drag pvp without convoy. got right in a game without a non-existant queue.

Happy racing!

I apologize for my attitude. Just had to deal with a lot of crashing, sound bugs, and lots of things that kinda muddied my experience. I mean no ill will towards you, but I do think the multiplayer could’ve done a bit better.

It is a great thing that people won’t crash into you while you play online. As much fun as it could be; the chance to play the game without being bothered is what sold me to get the game.

There are social events to participate in, if you want; otherwise it is virtually like being playing offline with automated driver players. Win-win for everyone.

BTW the game hasn’t been launched yet; beside the people that got the ultimate edition; there is nobody else. Which means that you will see more players participating in races once the game open up for the players that purchased the base and advanced versions too. Give it time; the game is good; even without a single real player in the game; but I guess many did get the game to actually participate against other real people.

Nobody is seeing your events. I just found out about a day ago that events no longer pop up at the top of our screens. Instead, we have to manually go to the world map and press LB to view events being set up. It isn’t the smartest idea in my opinion especially because we weren’t informed this at all so most people’s events just go unseen, hope this clears things up though
