Where is Chris Esaki?

Sorry for offtopic. I just picked this, cause it’s more popular lately…:rofl:

Hwo knows what is that symbol of that guy AX201SD1?

Well. I read that, and…huh.

umm-wait

If anyone was banking on this game gradually getting better leading up to the Nordschleife update, this interview should effectively shelve those hopes.

I’m not even going to address the slap in the face that is putting out a PR fluff piece with Top Gear instead of directly addressing fans themselves. Nothing in that fluff piece says that they’re listening or that they even care. This game is going to have to crash, and then I guess we all have to hope that someone higher up than Esaki or Greenawalt will actually care enough to set things right.

Interview is damage control. Don’t know if Forza still has that contract with Top Gear, but the timing of this interview is interesting indeed. Nobody talking about the game, low player count, then TG comes up with something that could be mistaken for a press-release, probably to try and get the game back into headlines in a positive light.

Microsoft only cares about a fan if you act like those Brazilian guys who used to have the largest console war channel on YT and got shot down because one of them posted a racist tweet. Before that, they even travelled to E3 with Microsoft sponsorship. You have to be unrelenting in defense of the brand, otherwise you’re a nobody to them.

Speaking of which, I can’t fall in love with a car unless it magically morphs into Scarlett Johansson in front of me.

Pushing the builder’s cup as a “falling in love with your car” theme. That alone is a bunch of (atuff I can’t print). Whoever dreamed up that has never owned a car or played a car racing game or been a racing/car enthusiast. It’s just nothing more than video game grinding to level up your video game collection. And they made it 1000 times worse than any other game ever.

It’s a typical fluff piece that makes Top Gear look like they’re “hip” with the video game crowd while repeating the same talking points ad nauseum. It’s literally the “Hello, fellow kids!” of car journalism.

The one thing to note is the majority of their answers centered on FM being a Live Service game without actually saying it.

We knew going in this was their focus from the beginning, but it seems like this is where the majority of the actual development went to (improving the physics is part of this) because Live Service is the modus operendi that fits perfectly with the Game Pass, subscription model.

Also, it’s apparent to those who know how these things work, this interview was conducted maybe three, four weeks ago when the second update dropped. More people were still playing the game and excited for the changes to the car leveling system. It’s just now being released because we’re at a time many industries are winding down for the year and they needed a fluff piece to fill content.

There’s nothing else to say other than this very well may be the last Forza Motorsport game due to how badly it’s failed.

Well they say it wasn’t because of player feedback, but they say a lot of things. They’re unlikely to say ‘yeah the game was a shambles on release, the feedback from players was overwhelmingly hostile so we were forced to make a change’.

I don’t trust anything they say.

well if they re reading, no more blurry textures, fix AA, implement KTAA maybe ? change the light filter ? a little bit of post processing to make green like a real green ? a radar HUD and a better safety rating. Im not asking much.

and last but not least… S E B R I N G !!!
It may sound like some non sense to you but FM7 on PC was WAY WAY WAY WORSE, headlights not working, stuttering for no apparent reason, long loading screens, impossible to join Multiplayer, game not launching for months. and STILL THIS DAY headlights are bugged.

Nonenthless, FM7 image quality was sharp.

This interview as far as im concerned provided pretty much no useful information other than Dan and Chris are still alive and apparently in hiding together.

Seriously though, they have yet again touted this games capability of being changed relatively easily without “updates”, so why is nothing being changed other than in a monthly update.

Ive said it before but even with all the bugs being fixed the game isnt that enjoyable. I dont know how much “data” they need to then start a “concept” phase of what needs to be added and changed. People want race cars in the campaign, uhhhh just add it problem solved. People want qualifying and tire deg/fuel usage multipliers in freeplay uhhh just add it. People dont like the car points system, get rid of it.

Theyre still in this bubble of thinking theyre gaining all these “new” racers, theyre not. Most people and im not hesitent to say most, who play this game are either returning or people who play track racing games. Certain things are expected, these are the things that need to be added asap. They need to first admit to themselves what they got wrong and quickly pivot in the right direction.

Another thing about FM7 on PC is that, unlike the console version, there is no brightness or gamma controls - the brightness setting page just tells you to adjust your screen’s brightness. Absolute amateurs. FM7 is of course infamously dark on PC compared to FM5 and FM6.

Hartman, Greenawalt and Esaki are grifters, it’s amazing they have lasted so long before being found out.

I too created an account here to get some answers, and I can’t post a thread yet. The MAJORITY of players either 1 don’t play, or 2 are just holding out hope it will get better. I see no one that thinks this game is in any way good. Excuse me, except the people stuck on console and this is the only racing game they’ve played beside horizon. They’re radio silent getting thrashed EVERYWHERE.

the MOST insulting part is they’re DRIP FEEDING UPDATES once a month.

Yep. Yet another example of a video game dev getting off scott free in an “interview” because the interviewer just doesn’t have the minerals (or, more likely, the need, because not that many people really care) to ask the real questions. Assuming said interviewer has done their research and realizes there’s a tonne of stuff out there worth asking.

I’m surprised; this isn’t some gaming fluff site; this is an actual publication and they still turned out a fluff piece. I don’t get it; Top Gear doesn’t need to be worried about getting blackballed if they ask the tough questions – they’re simply too big for that – so why churn out such a blah piece? Unless, of course, T10/MS paid for the spot…

Yeah, fluff pieces are fluffy!

This interview is insane. I dunno if I’m more mad or disgusted. No accountability whatsoever. :expressionless:

What a time to be alive.

RIP Forza, I wonder what’s next for Xbox.

They’re either utterly delusional, or utterly ignorant. Probably the latter.

Doesn’t matter at this point, the game is dead. Flossing a top gear interview just makes things worse. The only place where this is going is to the grave.

Somewhere there’s a love for cars and accessibility from someone, so Forza won’t be missed.

I would go with delusional, because the only way their vision of the builders cup makes any sense is if they expected players to spend 20+ laps practicing per race. Because as it is, you do finish with a half-baked car that is useless competitively.

Microsoft has spent billions gobbling up so many game studios over the last 5 years that it’ll soon be time to start milking those cash cows and ruining even more games.

Sony & Nintendo have been selling more consoles than Microsoft, so maybe MS hopes they can gain more market share with their “all your games are belong to us” approach by owning all the game studios and getting a piece of what those games sell on other platforms too.

Source? I’m sure MS is not showing numbers since 2015 for consoles. Anyway they work on Gamepass thats the Cow. And they want it everywhere Mobile, TV even on Sony & Nintendo consoles
