I have recently just bought a logitech G920 and i was wondering what, if any changes you make to your controller tunes? I have tuned a lot of cars that i was happy with when i was using a controller but with the wheel i dont find them as effective, ive softened everything up a little and put a bit more brake pressure in which helps but im wondering what you guys change for a wheel tune.
I generally put a bit more understeer for the cars i tune with a wheel. Easier to control.
less camber than on the pad also.
yeah, it took me a little while to figure out the less camber thing. But I don’t tune in understeer I do set the wheel sensitivity one click on the lite side to help with car control
Steering feel is very strongly affected by tyre temps/pressures. Using a wheel you learn to rely on feedback, so once it’s gone - or ‘gone off’, you’re lost.
I use way less brake pressure and tighten the gap between accel and decel. Or I did anyway. Bought a thrustmaster 458 edition. RB stopped working on the 3rd day Now, when I upshift my car cuts right. I’ll not even tell you how long I spent tuning on this car before I realized it was the wheel doing it. After a lot of time and several wtf’s later I grabbed my controller, problem gone. I’m going to exchange it for another one but just once, if the next one messes up I’ll just go back to a controller. You cant beat the smoothness on the turns though, I was just getting to where I was right on the heels of my PB’s.
