I’ve been struggling using tunes made for controllers and have honestly been having an easier time just dropping the ride height and tire temps on the stock set up with the wheel. Are there any big tuners that use a wheel and have a decent selection of tuned out vehicles? It’s frustrating using the tuners that i loved and not being able to control their cars (im not as good with a wheel but considering how much easier a stock tune vs a raceboy77 tune is for me to drive, it leads me to believe the different input methods call for different load outs.) I don’t have the time to tune like i did in FM3-FM5 help would be appreciated.
I’m “ambidextrous” for lack of a better term. Some times I use a controller with chase view, other times my Thrustmaster TX in cockpit or dash view. Use the same tunes for both, have gotten near identical times with both.
just dropped three 1% times with your gt12 tune, I play a little with both (same cam set ups) my wheel times are getting better, getting my money out of this wheel at the time being but ill still throw in a few laps with the keyboard in chase cam.
I purchased a TX leather Edition recently and making my tunes especially to handle well with the wheel.
Driving no assist with the wheel can be quite a challenge. Wheel tunes translate well to controller, the other way around not so much.
yeah i got my settings and all that jazz set well. I tried tuning a car for the wheel and i love it i just dont have the time. No assists as well. Did some reseach and found that WHEEL USERS MUST USE NORMAL STEERING.
Raceboy tunes should work for the wheel. He uses SIM steering so the cars feel awful with normal steering but great with SIM steering in controller. Wheels are more sensitive so id think normal steering with a wheel + a raceboy tune and you’re good.
I used his exclusively last installment and loved them (use sim on controller ofc, normal with wheel) but on a few cars (shelby daytona and Porsche 2017 gt2rs specifically, they suck with a wheel but when i use the controller they work perfectly.)
That’s weird but not surprising. If you have to rely on others you’ll need to try a lot of tunes at times to find what feels right.
Like with RB tunes I can’t use them in high classes (p class and up) with my controller deadzones set to 0/100 and use SIM steering. Tank slappers happen way too much for no real reason. I have to adjust my settings or try a different tune.
In majority of classes I can tune my way to something that feels super responsive with normal steering and not have to worry about tank slappers in races and can switch to SIM steering in rivals and still be ok.
You may need to learn how to tune for your favorite classes/homologation/cars. You’re frustration will go away eventually. That’s why I started late in FM4 with tuning. Got tired of searching.
