Wheel Buttons are mapped but do not work

Hey, i need help. I can map the buttons of my steering wheel in the settings, save them, looks all ok. But when i drive it just dont work. I have VRS Pedals, VRS Wheelbase and a Cube Controls GTX wheel. They all getting detected and i can map the buttons, but in the race only the things wich are mapped on the pedals and the wheelbase work. I have no more idea what to do.
Does anybody have a solution or idea? Would be nice, with automatic shifts its no fun :frowning:

Yes, that’s the same for me. And it’s so annoying. But I have to say that was already in FM7 so and has annoyed me there. I hope they will at least fix it this time.

Same for me. Simucube, DC Pedals are working, Buttons on GSI PRO Wheel are mappable but not working in race. Don’t know why. Tried to use other USB Ports and so on, but nothing works…

Mmh, i watch a guy on twitch, Dan_Suzuki, who is also working for GSI. He is using also Simucube with a GSI, for him it works. I ask him if he did something special, but no, he just mapped the buttons and it works. So it seems to be solveable. I will try again some things this afternoon and will write it here if i solve it.

I know the videos of Dan, so i wonder if i can’t get it to work.
He seems to be also have 3 Controller (Multi USB) connected.

  • the Wheel (GXL Pro) with USB (Dan has the Formual Elite variant with Display, i have the one without)
  • Pedals with USB
  • Simucube with USB
All Controllers seem to be notices by Forza. As I can map the buttons in the Config, i wonder why i can’t use them, when i’m driving.
The Wheel is showing twice in my USB Gameing Controllers. But i think it must be, cause of many Buttons. But i’m not sure. Trying to connect all separate to an USB on the motherboard does also not help.

BTW: Is there a chance, to delete the custom Profiles ? Cause of playing around, i have 5

Yes u can delete them, choose the profile and press F.

Well i tried some things now, only connecting the wheel, emulate an Controller by the wheel, deactive all analog inputs off my wheel and so on, several things but no success.

I thought about if maybe the version is an issue, Steam or Xbox. Or maybe the Windows version. Im on Win 10 and playing on Gamepass. What Versions do you have?

Seems like the 10€ for the Gamepass was a waste of money :frowning:

PS: I contacted the support and opened a ticket, maybe i get an solution there.

Windows 11, Game Pass. I would not like to say, 10 € are too much. I have fun, but i like to get shifting  Automatic is worse.

I reinstalled the game to try to reset all things can happen.
What i notice is that at the first start, i get all Profile like Fanatec, thrustmaster and so on in the menu. When i setup a new individual profile, all those predefined profiles are gone now.
Also the same efect. My Wheel is not working.

Yeah maybe i should give it a try with automatic, but it feels so wrong

Yes, i got i working now ^^

You got the button maping to work?

Yep, i have to write it, but i have a race… i will give an update shortly, what my issue was…

So, after my Race…

My Issue was, that my wheel was shown twice in the USB Gamecontroller Settings.
If i clicked on the settings of one of them, it shows the settings of the Wheel (Buttons etc…) and on the second one, the settings of the Simucube was shown.
The second is wrong and for that, the GUID or VIDPID or what it is called of the USB Device seems to be same / wrong.

The Solution was quite simple…
In Device Manager open Human Interface Devices - find the wrong USB-Input Device and disable it. I had to test a little bit around to find the correct device. After the USB Gamecontroller shows only one Wheel, remap Settings in Forza and for me, it works.

Hope it helps also in your case !

Have fun !
