9:31 in a 976 ACR Viper I can get faster times, but I always wind up grazing something. I haven’t used a maxed out S2 yet or an X. I like lower classes mostly except for a few cars.
I did a non aggressive run of 9:45 to enter the rivals leaderboard… a 9:27 flagged run in a S2 car. On a X Centenario i ran 8:47.
So I’ve raced the Goliath run a few times for the sake of making some big bucks. I’ve used several different cars on this track for the sake of getting the fastest times to minimize the amount of time needed to grind cash and XP. So what’s the best car to use on this track for the sake of time and what’s your best lap times on the Goliath run?
I use the koeinsegg one:1 at the minute, also the Lamborghini veneno is another good one.
Check the leaderboard for quickest car.
To max credits you probably want the Ford GT HE.
I tend to use the Viper HE because I like it more.
No idea of my quickest laptimes other than a 9.47 in the Corvette.
Where can I view the leaderboard for the Goliath run?
for fastest laps ford gt, centenario and koenigsegg one:1. Fastest money making is the Ford GT HE.
Rivals, Festival Locationa, Byron Bay, far right.
I think that is right, i am not in front of xbox at the moment.
The fastest lap time I’ve pulled so far is 9:40 something in a McLaren P1.
I’ve only done 5-10 laps in the Ford GT HE so far but I’ve already got a best of 9:27.3. I mainly do A class laps but I’m about as fast as I can get at the moment so I thought I’d start on the higher classes.
Current global leaderboard for S2 is the Koenigsegg Regera at 8:31
S1 9:31 Bugatti EB110
A 10:31 Mitsubishi Lancer MR '04
B 11:30 Dodge Charger Daytona
C 11:36 Holden Commodore VL
D 13:16 Opel GT
Well, that’s one way to sell car packs.
My best is still around 9:40 in the Ford GT HE 998 AWD. I’ve since improved my lines in other cars around some complex bends that were kicking my tush earlier, so I should do some more runs with it.
Edit: Checking the leaderboards,
#28 in D with a 14:02.443 in my Datsun 2000
#60 in C with a 13:13.660 in my Mercury Coupe
#856 in B with a 12:42.663[!] in my Ferrari 250LM (only run this one a couple of times–this encourages me)
#279 in A with a 12:08.829 in my Shelby Daytona
#135 in S1 with a 10:46.079 in my Mustang 69 HE
#2,121 in S2 with a 9:54.027 in the Ford GT HE (the 9:40 must have registered as dirty then, or was offline–must run this one some more)
Edit 2:
#1,691 in S2 with a 9:47.254 in the Ford GT HE
Huge mistake on the S bends next to the river delta, though. I’m lucky I avoided a dirty lap. So mad at myself now.
My best leaderboard time in S2 is a 9:03.XXX in the Ford GT HE, and that was done at night (I think I’m ranked 115-ish). I have not attempted it in the Regera since I only run Goliath for the CR. I’m sure I could set a blazing lap if I wanted since I pretty much know the circuit by heart.
My best time is about 8 minutes with a fullly upgraded centenario.
Update: As I now have better lap times after fine tuning one of my Ford GT HE’s S2 998 class
9:33 with the Ford GT HE RWD. This is with weather on, rolling time. Etc. So the weather changes and during the 6th lap it gets dark. The first lap is right after a heavy rain so the roads are wet for the first half of the track.
I quit paying attention to the leader boards because I have a feeling some of the times were obtained by cheating (not all, but some and by cheating I mean using the rails to bounce off of to make quicker times. There are several areas where you can shave seconds off your time if you hit the rails and buildings just right), and others were achieved with perfect weather, perfect time of day, for the entire race. Which for me removes immersion.
My first lap is usually in the 9:50’s due to the wet roads. My best laps are usually between 2 and 5. Darkness slows me down a bit. As it would in real life. I don’t bother much with rivals anymore because the times I have to beat are usually 10+ seconds better than mine.
I don’t claim to be the best driver in the game. But I’m a damn good driver IRL. I’ve done track days, I spent a summer at the police academy thanks to my uncle and most of that time was doing PT and running the driving course in a Fox Body 5.0 Mustang with manual shift (the CHP had to use Manual Shift and operate the radio at the same time, it was a pain in the ass for them, but they loved the cars). This was back in the 80’s when I was 15. My cousin (Uncle’s son) was also with me that summer. it was a blast. Because of all this training I’ve had 3 accidents in my life, every single one of them were the other driver’s fault and there was nothing I could do to avoid them. All drivers were cited for either failure to yield or hitting me while I was stopped in traffic with no where to turn off to avoid being hit.
I also Drag race occasionally. So I know a little bit about driving. The game is nothing like IRL.
If you want to race my blueprint, just add me as a friend. I rarely change it unless I feel like doing a 4 lap instead of a 6 lap race or I choose to go for XP (rarely) as opposed to Credits.
My best clean lap is in the low 10’s. I could probably do better since I’ve tuned one of my Ford GT HE’s specifically for that track (which has dropped my lap times). but it’s a long track and one mistake blows it. So I don’t bother.
A rail bounce should add a “[!]” to the lap. That makes it worse than any clean lap, in my view. I don’t even like to mow down breakable scenery, if I can help it.
I never raced IRL (well, not on a track anyway). I had a Fox-body Mustang, an 85 GT, bought new. It started bucking on me not long after I got it, and their regular mechanics didn’t seem to know why. So they brought in some Holley-carb expert, who made it run ridiculously well. I could peg the stupid 85-mph speedo in a heartbeat. That was my quickest car ever, by far.
I’m aware of the (!) Laptimes where you hit something or use rewind and Kudos to you for the Foxbody. the 1980’s and mid-to-late 70’s were horrible for cars due to all the emissions the government forced on car-makers. It took car-manufacturers until the 1990’s to catch up. The C4 corvette had a whopping 200 (something) horsepower. The police didn’t have that issue. All of that was stripped off their vehicles (at least in California. I can’t speak to other states at the time).
I still have a fondness for some of the 302 equipped Foxbody Mustangs of the day. I remember when the singular goal was to make 100 HP for every liter (5.0) for a street car (Naturally Aspirated). Now it’s a lot easier done. (2015 Mustang GT350R 5.2 Liter with 524 HP Naturally Aspirated). Ford Claims that the engine used in this car will ONLY ever be used in this car. That’s a real shame because it’s an awesome engine. I guess they’ll go with a 5.8 liter for the GT500 and either Supercharge or Turbocharge it. They’d be stupid to put a V6 in it like they did with the Ford GT. Muscle Car enthusiasts love their V8s. What really bugs me is that the Developers don’t understand that you can take a 351 Windsor (an engine built in the 1970’s and HUGELY popular in Australia), along with the 351 Cleveland which had racing heads but tended to blow out the bottom end because the internals couldn’t handle it once you began modding) and push it past the 1000hp mark very easily. Instead they only offer the Lambo V12, as they did in FH2. And there’s a lot of big-block Chevy engines that will go beyond that (Chevy’s pushrod engines haven’t changed much in years beyond offering better internals for more reliability and to eek out a few extra HP now and again… Corvette owners aren’t happy that the new Camaro gets the exact same engine with the same HP and Torque as the Corvette C7. They’re hoping for a major power increase in 2018).
Hell, just buying a kit and switching to E85 will produce a lot more HP, combine that with a Cobrajet intake, larger fuel injectors and you’re ready to drag race.
The Foxbody Mustangs the CHP used were highly modified. As are the current 2015/2016 Mustangs that an aftermarket company is making police packages for. since Australia dissed the stock 2015’s because the transmission was overheating on all-out 2 minute runs (it gets really hot in Australia during the summer months). Although I doubt a C7 would last even that long considering one lap of the track and the A8 transmission overheats.
Even the Crown Vic was offered with a police package to increase HP, and had oil and transmission coolers for heavy duty use. For some reason Ford decided not to offer a decent police package for the new Mustangs. Have no idea why other than they are too busy pushing their SUVs and Taurus versions. Ford seems less interested in Pursuit vehicles these days which is why most of them are Dodge Chargers, which are always breaking down according to more than a few Police Departments. Even so, with all the extra equipment they carry, you can add half a ton to each police equipped car. They aren’t very fast with all that extra weight. I think the old Crown Vic topped out at 135 or so even with the police package, and yet they’re still in use today because the non-pursuit officers prefer them for their comfort and interior space. .
Police these days have it pretty bad. While the departments are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on military APCs for… No reason at all, police in the northern states don’t even get snow tires. They have to make do with the crappy all-season tires. (though I hear Michelin’s new AS3+ tire is about the best all season tire you can get and comes closest to summer tire performance while still being useful during the winter).
As you can tell I have a Fondness for Ford. Mostly because they haven’t sat still when designing new engines while Chevy and Chrysler are still using old pushrod technology. (Chrysler is understandable, their parent company Fiat is run by an idiot). But Chevy would rather tackle their advancements from a programming standpoint such as their 4 cylinder eco-mode instead of designing all new engines. Hopefully their mid-engined Vette changes that.
My fastest lap is an 8:43 in a Lamborghini Centenario (X-Class). However, if it weren’t for the numerous crashes I had, I’ve no doubt that my lap time could have been more towards 8:20. And considering that I’ve only done the Goliath Circuit about 5 times, I could probably make up even more time with enough practice. I’m gonna keep trying to improve my lap times at some point. There is plenty room for improvement for me.
8.58 with s2 998 McLaren P1. Somehow time did not save to leaderboard while i was playing on co-op with my friend.
Ran an 8:39.103 in my centenario in X class
