Basically, I use Goliath as my Test Track; whenever I tune a new vehicle I run it for 1 lap around Goliath to see how it compares to what I currently have. My problem is that since there are no leaderboards (that I can find) for Goliath, I can’t tell how I am comparing to the masses.
I thought this could be a fun place to compare our results to give feedback on how we and our tunes are doing.
I created a SUMMER 1 LAP Blue Print. I’m using a wheel & pedals (although this isn’t a rule for this request), I run a lap on unbeatable (again, not a rule), I don’t corner cut other than 2 wheels off the tarmac at any time. I don’t cut the Round-Abouts either.
S2 Class: (I don’t have a lot of these cars) Sub 9 minute laps, I think the best I have had was somewhere around 8:55. S1 Class: (I do have a lot of these) Sub 10 minute laps, Best time around 9:48. A Class: (I have a lot of these) Sub 11 minute laps, Best time around 10:52. I personally don’t have anything setup less than A Class right now, but feel free to share those if you like.
If there is interest in this topic, I will start writing down my best times and posting (with vehicle) here.
For those of you who don’t have Goliath opened up yet, it opens as you complete the Road Racing Series; I think it was somewhere around Level 15 (chime in and correct me if you know for sure).
I know this isn’t RIVALS, and racing with Drivatars (especially at the start) can easily make a ~5-10 second difference in your final times…
There is actually an S2 class Goliath rivals event, you go into Rivals then Road Racing, and it’s over on the right hand side of the list. The times will depress you, though, as there are legit performances well under 8 minutes, and that’s with roads that are a little wet.
I could throw in my fastest S1 & S2 times because I test those cars on Goliath too. All done on dry summer. No cutting of the roundabouts, flying lap.
S2:
Ultima Evo:7:39 Nothing comes close so far.
I tried the Rival S2 with my Porsche Spyder, but I just couldn’t keep it on the wet roads…
Ouch! You are like a full minute ahead of me in S1 Class… What difficulty level are you using (i.e. Unbeatable, Pro, Expert, etc.). Are you doing more than 1 lap?
I find on Unbeatable, I’m usually held up by traffic for a good part of the beginning…
Yes, I’m running two laps because on the first the AI will hold you up. Thus, the times wouldn’t be comparable.
Always driving on unbeatable and without any assists.
Give the P1 a try. I haven’t maxed out what it can do yet, but I did 3 laps of the rivals event yesterday with it and got within ~7 seconds of my best time with the Ultima. It’s a lot easier to drive than the Ultima and I haven’t changed that much with the tuning yet, so I feel it can get closer than that.
Just did a couple of standing start attempts with that car, couldn’t quite match you, did 7:52. Absolutely nuts that there are people going faster than that in the S2 998 Ultima.
Good thread and good idea, i also thought it would be great to share our times & cars.
However, you should add to the OP for camera & assists used.
Because having driving line on & upside camera surely drops the admiration a lot
FH4 goliath is really technical, even on straight, and driving line + camera choice really makes the experience completely different.
IMHO, you should put two different leaderboard
1 : A free one where everyone can use every assist/camera they want
2 : A “realist” one with interior camera & driving line off
It unlocked at level 20 Road Racing for me. Well after I’d completed the rest of the series (about level 12, as I recall).
I take it from the quotes that you’re aware that the interior camera is only realistic if in real life you wear an eyepatch on the passenger side eye and a blinder on the driver side. And probably squint besides…
This is a great idea but, why not do it on the colossus? Goliath is so damn long. But I will run a lap or two once I get home from work and post my lap times.
I don’t know if I could do Goliath without a line at all (I use braking line), I guess if I put it on “inexperienced” difficulty…
Colossus would be a good track too, hmmmm….
One thing I’m thinking, I should probably create a blue print of 2 laps on Goliath to see if I can get a better time on lap 2… Although I don’t know I’ll save a whole minute.
An RWD-converted X-class Centenario was the fastest car around Goliath in FH3. But it always felt like that car received a “little” stat boost for being the cover car. It’s not good in FM7 and here in FH4 it’s at least nowhere as strong in S2 as it was in FH3. Can’t comment on X-class because I’m not interested in X-builds and never did one but I doubt it’ll turn into a top tier car.
The Senna(RWD) on S2 without aero parts is pretty cool. A sub 8:00 car on Goliath and it really shines on high speed turns due to its impressive handling. It lacks a little bit of power on S2 though.
Well, certainly nothing to write home about, but I thought I’d post my update anyway. Created a 2 Lap Goliath to see if I could do better on Lap 2…
Goliath
Corvette ‘15 - 09:40:080
(Although, the second lap saved me almost 14 seconds from my original time in this car.)
The problem here is that the race took almost 20 minutes which may avoid the casual gamer from posting a time.
So, I thought I’d give DigitalSpit504’s suggestion a whirl and do Colossus…
Colossus
Vantage S ’13 – 05:18:785
AM Vanquish – 05:19:386
Corvette ’15 – 05:19:533
Ford Mustang DD – 05:20:521
Rules: Unbeatable, no more than two wheels off the tarmac at any time, honor system. You may wish to save a screen shot just in case your time is questioned.
Side Note: One thing I did realize from racing these tracks is that Horizon has a sort of “built-in” penalty system with the “Check Points”. Corner cutting will basically get you nowhere.
