can u tell me why AWD still OP ? .. why there is absurd things like wider wheel and rear wings lower the PI of AWD ? .. why AWD swap lower the PI itself even it give a so big grip advantage in can lower the tyre compound and still get decent handling without forgetting the massive launch advantage ? heck some time it lower so much the PI .. u have enough to get the power ratio back to where it was ..
and its not like RWD was on pace but asked more to the driver.. were they not suppose to balance that thing .. its not like FH2 was balance
or its may be like part of the casualisation that ruined the all game with wallride and team adventure .. make a magical upgrade that turn any car into easy flat car to drive (as much as the crew 2) to not frustrate casuals that dont understand what throttle control is ..
at this point .. just make the physic simply flat .. remove wheelspin and oversteer from RWD ..
if u want to make a full on arcade game … just make it then .. and dont be scared to frustrate or lose us .. the veterans .. u already done it with that multiplayer mess (and rivals .. dont forget rivals)
The PI balance is pretty good aside from a handful of exceptions (AWD Bone Shaker on A for example). Definitely way better than it was in Horizon 3.
Although I have to admit rear tires lowering PI on AWD doesn’t make sense when you can asign as much power as you want to them with the race diff. This leads to strange builds where the AWD conversion has more grip and less weight than its RWD counterpart on the same PI.
Awd is so op so thats why ultimate dominates goliath leaderboard, oh wait what ultima is rwd. And look rayne se top times in other topic it’s really dont show that awd would dominate when highly skilled driver drives. Offcourse awd is really good in most peoples because it’s easier to drive than rwd and current online system is so stupid that offcourse everybody use awd when you need to be drive offroad all the time. rayne se say that allready but yes it’s really stupid and not challencing that you can install max wide rear tires and forza wing and get lower pi.
Because 1 single race(the biggest race of the game and a race that is not on online adventures) you believe AWD is not overpowered? And how know they are RWD and not using AWD swap?
Again how you know they arent using AWD swap? But ok Don’t have goliath online but we have Colossus i tested 2 S1 one is my RWD BMW that i use most of times for online the another is a Zonda Cinque(yes Zonda Cinque its S2 but with AWD swap it go to S1(F*** the logic)) and the zonda ended 4 seconds faster and on circuit made laps half second faster after this i decide to look rally tyres and another amazing fact Zonda C AWD lowered Pi with rally tyres but RWD Zonda C dont lowered this make sense for you? Another problem on FH4 on high speed RWD its exactly like AWD, on FH3 RWD its better on high speed but on FH4 no on FH3 F1 GT on S1 and Regera on S2 are crazy on high speed races AWD still with advantage because launch but its better than FH4, FH3 the problem with RWD its because the phisics its terrible 100 110 120 MPH burning tyres the only way to use RWD on FH3 is with TC on FH4 its a little more realist but now the Pi system is making AWD overporewered, someone know if i can use screenshots on comments just to proof what im saying?
What coincidence that you end up comparing random Bmw and one of meta cars. Tvr cerbera is faster in S1 than awd swapped austin taxi do that proof that rwd is overpowered? If you are gonna compare awd swap then compare with using same car.
Your logic dont make any sense first of all BMW as the best RWD Handling/Speed/Acceleration FH3 M3 2005 is one of the best S1 RWD the BMW i used its a M3 2008 widebody race spoiler race tyres its a real fast car this think about the best RWD its mid or rear engine its a mith made from noobs that dont even use RWD or dont know how adjust suspencion 2- the car be good with RWD FWD or AWD dont mean it will be good with another drivetrain a bone shaker is one the best AWD A Class but its bad RWD A Class if the car its with the same Pi it should be good for somenthing thats why i tested on a Speed Race(Colossus) and a Circuit Race 3- i only play with RWD and FWD including rally and cross country(they are good off road except buggy because buggy s**** obviously arent better than AWD if dont beat on asphaslt how will beat off road) since FH3 when i noticed AWD is overpowered and PG is not thinking about fix i sure you the AWD player dont know more than me about RWD/FWD
The problem is that the devs refuse to manually adjust issues in the PI system.
In FM7, AWD conversion actually costs a lot of PI, which makes it viable only in class-based racing (the most unrealistic part of Forza anyway). Aero on the other hand is underrated, despite offering huge gains.
In FH4 the aero is often the only way to make cars reach the top of their classes (while also making them uglier in the process), while AWD seems even more underrated compared to FH3. It’s just one of the many problems Playground refuses to address, since the “less skilled players” would probably be angry they can no longer “compete”. You’re not wrong OP, this game feels like NFS with an AWD-converted leaderboard tune, which is very sad IMO.
The exception that proves the rule, since the Ultima has loads of aero and lightweight to make use of. It’s really an extreme case.
Did i remember wrong but didint awd cars did mutch better in fh3 goliath than fh4 and fh3 goliath was even more power focus. And fh4 have balance power and grip tunes mutch better than fh3 and overall balance feels mutch better than fh3 (except bone shaker). Biggest unbalance what i think there is how good dirt tires are on asphalt, my best rally cars compete very well against road racing tunes.
Edit: And race tires are too grippy in winter.
The otherwise is true … i manage to outperform WRC cars with a spa P4 with slicks … but off roading has always been all over the place in FH … even in FH2 supercars were faster on cross country than trucks
In the race forum, there’s a thread called “fastest in S1” where one of the better drivers posted sub 1:03 laps at Holyrood Park Circuit in 2 different RWD S1 cars. I know what under 1:03 in S1 looks like there … it’s quick. AWD still dominates in FH4, but RWD is a lot closer this time around than it was in FH3.
RWD is always usable on asphalt, but even if the balance was perfect, AWD would still be the preferred choice in multiplayer, given the multiplayer design we have and all the going offroad in the game.
IMO correctly balancing all the conversions you can make for each car would probably be incredibly difficult and not really worth it.
A good way to fix this would be to simply not allow these builds to go online outside of custom lobbies.
Conversions are a staple of Forza but they kill all variety, in S2 most cars will be AWD and racing V12 swapped and i think this really sucks.
I greatly prefer keeping a car with its stock engine and drive train type. This idea has some problems though, and one of the main issues is that many cars are unable to reach the top of their classes under their own power and need conversions. Almost all (if not all) of the modern rally monsters need to get the turbo rally conversion to hit S900 and some can’t even do that unless you fiddle with rim sizes and make the rear tires narrower than the front (at which point your car looks like a silly reject from the factory). The Ferrari F40 C also can only get to like ~970 unless you swap its engine out. You’d make a bunch of fan favorites duds.
A good step would be allowing drive train type restrictions in races, would probably make drag racers happy.
I know what you mean and that’s the dev’s fault for lowering the number of classes. In FM7 You get S, R, P and X but here everything ends up lumped together in the super wide S1 and S2 classes.
Just add this to the long list of terrible multiplayer design decisions.
I prefer stock engine also (but i use awd swap) and there is lots of cars that you cant get even in s1 class without engine swapping and some low power cars need engine swap to get even a-class. and engine swap option for those are really bad, like austin-healey sprite you cant make it top of the a800 in stock engine and engine swap options are motorbike engine or rally engine, i wonder how many cars there is where you can fit that same rally engine. That would be great if we could make more rules when making own blueprint events and would get more players to joining those races.
Especially S2 requires AWD or engine swaps for many cars to hit 998 which is really unfortunate. Ferrari FXX, Lykan Hypersport, F40C, Ariel Atom…
I know many people disliked FM7’s homologation system but it actually ensured that most of the cars could be run with their stock engine (sometimes detuned) and stock drivetrain. Over time I started to like the system because of this reason.
off-topic: Did you try the Zonda C builds, V12 SprungBoss?
Homologation system could work better if that leave bit more room to works with builds but i dont remember that well in fm7 because i leave fm7 after two weeks.
And off-topic, did you send it allready? Because i havent got more than that one message.
