What should you get as a level 50 reward for vehicles?

,

I wouldn’t mind the 50 level grind as much if there was an incentive, there’s literally no real incentive, 5% discount doesn’t cut it. I thought maybe special bodykits that give you an edge or some sort of cool Livery that can only be earned?

Also am I the only one that doesn’t give a flying F about driver levels? It means absolutely nothing they may as well have just left it out of the game.

The Sense of Pride and Accomplishment™.

I’m not even joking.

You’re pointing at a very real thing: these levels are meaningless. This is a recuring problem in modern gaming, where numbers going up arbitrarily is something we’re supposed to care about.

Problem is, grinding just isn’t interesting. Some games are better than others at tricking you into thinking it is, but it isn’t. A good game should keep you playing and coming back because it is fundamentally fun.

And it is fun to drive cars. To slap some race tyres on a Clio and barrel it down the Nürb’. Or to dress up cars in bodykits and paint. Or to tune cars to extract every millisecond out of it. If only the game allowed it to happen. But it doesn’t. You gotta grind first, you gotta make that number go up first.

This game, like many others, tries to make you care about grinding by withholding content. This game, like many others, makes the mistake of coming into the way of its own fun, for no real reason, at least not one beneficial to the player.

Hence what you should get at level 50 is nothing: because there probably shouldn’t be a level 50. The fun of Forza is driving, and for some creating, not watching a number go up.

a Refund!?!?

Car levels would have more sense if it wouldn’t stop at 50 and would count on forever. This could serve as part of the statistics for how much I use my cars. 5% discounts are pointless, players already have millions of credits.

Ok but is there nothing, besides the refund, that would make you grind out cars? There must be something?

I would even think instead of the discount, once u get 5 cars to level 5 it unlocks a special vehicle for that manufacturer. That may incentivise me if the vehicle is good enough.

I agree car levels should continue and i’m assuming they do and they are just not unlocking it for us as yet. Will open it up later when there’s nothing left to do and then give us something else to grind.

Levels could be tied to manufacturer races, series, race suits, garages, liveries and even cars.

I think levels should only unlock single player content, in multiplayer it should be a sandbox

Upgrades should be bought with credits and no level limits.

The problem for me, is that “grinding out” a car seems like nonsense. And in my experience in FM, it kinda feels like nonsense, too.

Last week I wanted to run a Builder’s Cup series. I bought the car, and entered the Cup straight away with the stock car, since there is nothing whatever that I can do (aside from tire pressure).

And the first race, I see the AI are using Race tires.

So to solve this, I leave the Cup event, and go to Free Play at Spa. And after like 4 laps, I had to stop and wonder… what am I doing?

Just circling laps, on inappropriate tires, awaiting the moment a tire shop will eventually sell me some better tires.

???

@SolidStDriver , this is the utter ridiculum of the game. And racing in those races with opponents in cars with full Forza Aero? You don’t get that stuff in a lvl 1 car.

So you do your laps to get to lvl3 and unlock the race tires. And wow! Now you can get them. But wait, you can’t because you don’t have enough CP to get them. You have to keep grinding up until your car is lvl11. Whoever thought up this system, didn’t put a lot of thought into the system.

Perhaps a fixed and better overall game would be a good incentive. If that had been from day one. Getting to level 50 would be irrelevant.

From a single player prospective:

For the way up to level 50 with each car the game should provide some appealing gameplay for each car.
Without appealing gameplay there is no motivation to get level 50.
Result: I don’t have any level 50 car after 90 hours gameplay… (last played 12.12.23)

A L50 reward, for example a unique car, would be a FOMO mechanic.
If you say “Wow that was fun” after reaching level 50 you a already had the reward of hours of nice gameplay.
But providing endless hours of appealing gameplay for hundreds of cars without getting repetitive and boring isn’t really possible.

So we running in a circle with the carpg mechanic, coz there is no solution.
A better reward wouldn’t change anything.

Changing CarPG to a DriverLicenseRPG is imho still the way to go…

At least, when a car-model is max leveled, if we then buy another of the same model we should not have to start at lvl1

The only incentive I can think of is an high resolution and very well made real/historical livery for that car.

Agreed. Everyone who feels this way, please vote for it here:

I thought the 5% discount on each car you get to level 50 per manufacturer was… Kinda weak, not going to lie. In a game where:

  • All of the cars cost less than 500,000 credits
  • Credits are only ever spent on cars and not upgrades
  • The leveling-up grind will land you a bunch of credits through hours of free-play, multiplayer, and rivals driving
  • Just “regular gameplay” will land you plenty of credits

The 5% discount (25% maximum) just means nothing taking all of that into account.

Honestly, just having the car level up to infinity as you drive it would be enough itself. Having an incentive to reach level 50 for each car probably wouldn’t be that game changing. As long as upgrades aren’t tied to car level, I’m all for it…

@SwooshCollector I Would like the Option to choose a car as a Reward like it was in forza Motorsport
3 & 4 leveling up

Just take the levels out this thread is the exact reason, theres no incentive no decent reward it’s a redundant system now.

Hope this changes.

If I could get a branded race suits getting level 50 I’d have so many more cars levelled up.

Would personally just like a “livery editor” for suits and helmets. But this would be a nice second option.
