The Focus hands down. Due in large part to being the only car that really fits the expansion. Otherwise, this is car roster is arguably just as bad as or worse than the one found in Lego Champions.
The Hoonigan Scumbug was probably the biggest disappointment out of all of them. Since it was a Hoonigan vehicle, I was excited for an actually powerful Baja Beetle out of the box, but it’s only marginally better than previous Baja Beetles we already have. Also, three Baja Beetles now and not one of them has a stinger exhaust. That’s criminal.
I’m sure it’s well-documented by now that I am not pro-EV, so naturally the Lightning does absolutely nothing for me. Plus, its even heavier than most EVs (though that was to be expected), but its also slow for an EV and the stock top speed is pathetic. There are classic British roadsters that could out run this thing in terms of top speed. Just give them a couple of minutes to catch up. Also, not a very exciting final prize.
The Jimco Buggy is okay. I don’t really have much to say about it. Not much to say about the Alumicraft Buggy either. Both Alumicraft and Jimco trucks, however, are pretty slow in terms of acceleration. The trophy trucks that we already had in the base game are significantly better in terms of performance.
The RJ Anderson Trophy Truck is a fun drive, but again, didn’t really seem necessary since we already had one. I haven’t had a chance to sit down and compare the old one and the new one in terms of driving yet, but it is worth noting that the new RJ Anderson truck is significantly heavier than the old one. Not an expert on trophy trucks, but this is usually a bad sign in terms of performance as a vehicle evolves.
The Ultra4 Jeep is probably the second best car after the Focus. It performs decently enough and is at least more visually distinctive when compared to other vehicles of its type already in the game.
The Polaris, however, is probably the worst offender of them all. Its just a heavier version on the one that was just added to the game a few weeks ago, which itself was worse in most ways than the one in the game at launch. In other words, it’s Polaris inception, and that’s not as cool as it sounds.
Like many others have said in other threads, this DLC would’ve benefitted immensely from having more WRC and rally-prepped cars. The abscence of Lancia and the Talbot Sumbeam was also immensely felt.
