My own with the Speed 12 engine swap.
Haven’t shared any of the expansion cars yet because I’m still adjusting things.
I’m going to have to give this a run. It’s disappointing that up till now none of these trophy trucks have been that competitive. The I was impressed with the suspension on the Honda Ridgeline Trophy Truck. It’s a blast to drive around in free roam or against drivatars. Its not competitive online unfortunately.
I like its short wheelbase. I would have probably overlooked it seeing as I had not tried it yet, but it does feel nice.
Turning the Focus & Anderson truck into drifters has been my only contact with the expansion cars atm.
I’m a bit fatigued with all the silhouette trucks/buggies in this game. Mind you, the Sierra buggy is supposed to be effective.
I’ll be purging some of these expansion cars. My garage just has no room. I’ve been using the Merc 500SL, the Vauxhall Corsa, the Porsche 911 gt3 FE to tackle the expansion.
I’ve made liveries for Evo 6 TME (Marlboro and delicenced version) and Subaru 22B (555 and the more modern Subaru badge livery)
Hands down, 2001 Ford Focus RS WRC is the best one.
The nostalgia factor, for me, is very high. That era of WRC was my favorite.,
RIP Colin
I’ve been enjoying this new expansion a lot, and I’ve now collected and driven every car. Some of them are great additions, and some are…definitely not. I’ve decided to rank every car in the DLC, starting with the worst and working up to the best.
#10 - Polaris RZR Pro XP Racing
A bit of an odd choice, considering this is simply a heavier version of the Polaris included in the Playlist a few short weeks ago. That car was itself, an all-around worse version of the Polaris that was in the game at launch. The paint scheme is cool, but that’s about it. We really only need one of these things.
#9 - Hoonigan VW Baja Beetle
This car is an all-round disappointment. I think a lot of us were hoping for a fun, powerful Baja Bug. I know I was one of them. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The Hoonigan Scumbug is only slightly better than the other two cars in this class. It’s also a bit sad that a Hoonigan car, rather than being a modified monster, is just a slightly better version of the car it is based on.
#8 - 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
I may be a bit biased, as I’m not a fan of EVs, but this car is really nothing special. It’s a bit of a wasted space, and we could’ve had a rally car in its place. The Lightning is incredibly slow when stock, but it’s decent once you get weight reduction. It’s just extremely heavy. However, like every other EV in this game, it’s souless and depressing to drive with its lack of engine sounds and gearshifts. Please let us swap a V8 in. Please.
#7 - Jimco Fastball Trophy Truck
This blue behemoth is very average stock, but it’s great when upgraded. The stock Jimco Trophy is pretty slow and average, but with some upgrades, it can be turned into something closer to the RJ Pro 2 Truck. Weight reduction and extra power makes this truck a lot of fun to throw around. But in my opinion, not quite as fun as the one next…
#6 - Alumi Craft #6165 Trick Truck
The Trick Truck is a blast to drive, but like the Jimco, it needs some upgrades to get to that point. But when you do, it’s a beast. The suspension is fantastic and it handles off-roading very well. This is more subjective, but I personally prefer the bodystyle and paint scheme on the Alumi Craft compared to the Jimco. It just looks cool, along with driving great.
#5 - Jimco Hammerhead Class 1
Now we’re getting into the good stuff. The Hammerhead is a little bit painful to get up to speed off-road because of RWD, but once you do, it’s practically unstoppable. It’s great out of the box and handles high speed off-roading very well. It’s also very strong for Drift Zones, there’s a good amount of weight to throw around. Just a fun car overall.
#4 - Alumi Craft Class 1 Buggy
Very maneuverable, very easy to drive. The Alumi Craft handles extremely well for a buggy, even on the road. It’s RWD, but well balanced and doesn’t get a ton of wheelspin. It also has a good amount of suspension travel and can handle off-roading well. The Class 1 Buggy can do a bit of everything and that’s why I love it.
#3 - #4402 Ultra 4 Trophy Jeep
The Trophy Jeep is just a blast to drive around. That’s the best way to describe it. It features insane amounts of suspension travel, AWD, and over 800 horsepower. It’s no slouch. Despite being very large, it takes corners well and it’s well balanced, similar to the Alumi Craft Buggy. This car reminds me a lot of Brocky, one of my favorite off-roaders in FH5. The Trophy Jeep is just as fantastic.
#2 - RJ Anderson Pro 4 Truck
The Pro 4 Truck is one of my new favorite off-roaders in FH5. This thing is a beast. 850 horsepower, AWD, and great at handling the bumps. The Pro 4 Truck takes all of the pros of its older brother, the Pro 2 Truck (grip, power, suspension), and adds AWD. This improves the balance and launch of the truck. It’s great off-road and I’m happy to have it in FH5.
#1 - 2001 Ford Focus RS WRC
Well, you probably saw it coming. Colin McRae’s old Focus RS is by far my favorite car in the Rally DLC. This car is a rally icon. Colin took it to a championship fight against Richard Burns. Burns was able to win in the Subaru, but the car (and Colin) are loved among rally fans today. In FH5, it’s extremely planted and balanced. It’s able to take corners with relative ease and will win you almost every race in this DLC. The Focus is one of the best cars added to Forza recently, in my opinion.
So, that’s it. Those are my rankings. I’d love to hear yours, so feel free to reply below with your personal rankings. Or tell me you agree with me. Or tell me that I’m wrong and a complete idiot.
EDIT: I tried to make this as a thread but it got merged. Because I guess we can’t make posts about Forza on the Forza Forums anymore?
Good list and I see we agree on many vehicles.
The RZR and Scumbug also make the bottom of mine.
Former is uglier, has worse handling because it has higher min ride height and is slower than its RZR brothers - unnecessary addition.
Disappointing is the correct description for the Scumbug. I thought with the Hoonigan badge it’ll be a fantastic ride with the drag wing providing good downforce. Instead it’s just a bland copy of the other Baja Beetle.
My top 3 are the Alumi Trick Truck (3), the Ultra Trophy Jeep (2) and obviously the RJ Pro 4 Truck (1).
While the Jimco Trophy Truck is better than the Alumi, I prefer the styling and sound of the Alumi.
Kinda slow as a B700 RWD truck but very entertaining.
The Ultra is surprisingly agile for its size thanks to a responsive steering. It turns in wide, throwing the vehicle around. A lot of fun in freeroam. Way too much drag to be any good at CC (the X-Class has nearly 80 km/h more top speed with the same power).
Not that much more to say about the RJ Pro Truck. Absolute favourite of the expansion. Incredibly smooth, you can powerslide through dirt hairpins with ease and high precision - all without adjustable aero.
Have my V12 swapped build shared now (881 800 915).
i’m not a fan of all the open wheeled buggies and trucks, so the focus was the only one I was slightly excited about.
Majority of the vehicles just look very similar to what we have; especially the Polaris and the trophy trucks. it would’ve been so nice to have some rally cars from Lancia, Skoda, Hyundai, Abarth, Citroen (Retro or Modern)
Good list! I was surprised about how well the Ultra 4 Jeep handled. Everything I had heard before unlocking it suggested that it was a boat. Nope, it’s great. Combine that with suspension and you have a great off-roader.
The RJ Pro 4 is just perfect. The Pro 2 Truck was great. The Pro 4 takes all of the good stuff from the Pro 2, and adds AWD. Insane combination.
The Alumi is great as well, I’m still debating whether it’s #5 or #6 for me. The Alumi is a more balanced drive overall but the Hammerhead is just awesome, and it can do stuff you wouldn’t expect (drifting).
Where would McRae’s Focus land in your list?
My BMW 2002 Turbo as B700. I don’t like any of the DLC cars. Focus was ok but hated the big sticker on the windscreen, driving in cockpit view 1.
I love to use the Opel Manta 400, it’s pretty nimble around those corners with minimal modifications.
