I recommend the meta car AMG CLK GTR 1998 MB for S2 rally.
I use SepiSP4s tune SAAN JUAAN. However there are many other equally strong tunes to choose from.
I recommend the 2019 Deberti Toyota Tacoma TRD Performance Truck for S1 rally if you want to mix things up abit and drive a truck.
I use KapienPLs tune DIRT/CC Stock V8. It’s very strong.
One of my favourite vehicles and tunes. The most fitting name too.
Will also throw in the RTR Mustang’s for S1 CC/Dirt with KapienPL’s tunes. Nice predictable handling, decent enough power delivery and quite good over the jumps. Just really solid cars.
As far as I understand there won’t be S2 events throughout the “campaign” which is a good thing imho.
Neither the cars nor the feel have anything to do with Rallye anymore. Even S1 is pushing the boundaries with the few Rallye cars that can achieve S900 housing up to twice the power the most powerful rl Rallye cars - Group B - ever had.
I’ll strictly stick with authentic cars for the progression.
Imprezas, Evos, Celicas, Escorts & more for B700, Rallye cars and Hoonigan/Rallye-Cross for A800, the 4 S900 Rallye cars.
Will be interesting how challenging the “unbeatable” AI times are and if these average cars can manage them.
Presumably all new tracks will feature in rivals though including S2.
Although I don’t do S2 Dirt/CC Rivals I hope so. Furthermore I would more than appreciate it if PG wouldn’t exclude D & C as they did with HW.
S2 Dirt is pretty fun. I did some S2 Dirt earlier in open racing and got smoked by UnworthyPleb who from memory is a top 10 S2 Dirt/CC player. I don’t think anyone has ever destroyed me that bad in a race… In my defense I wasn’t using the meta tune and I’m still a bit rusty.
Happens to me quite frequently because nearly every lobby is infested with meta garbage.
Tried the newly added Honda Ridgeline detuned to B700 in a CC lobby. 4 out of 5 players in a Viper V10 F450 SD, one in a Bentley 8 litre.
So, last place it was before the race even started.
I have a sheet with all the tunes I’ve tested and used for my club’s races. Assuming there’s no car division restrictions, the quick cars from this should work.
I recommend using the Ford Transit SSV if you want to add a van into the mix. This is just my suggestion which not everyone might agree with.
When it comes to rally builds, I keep them completely authentic. I will dig online for HP numbers, tire size, etc. Usually Group B rally cars will land somewhere mid-S1, and that’s for the insanely powerful late era Group B cars (RS200 Evo, Audi S1 E2). Celicas, Evos, Imprezas will usually land low to mid A.
The Ridgeline is nice. It’s what the Rockstar truck should’ve been. Sadly online CC has been destroyed by the Bone Shaker in A & S1 class. So what is an actually nice competitive off road truck will be uncompetitive in its natural environment in the lobby races…
To bring in some substance for the original thread purpose a few Dirt builds. No meta swaps, authentic stuff that I enjoy driving:
1977 Ford Escort #5 B700
165 684 202
RWD with stock engine on Offroads. Not fast but one of the few RWD cars that are fun offroad.
Hoonigan RS200 A800
159 103 383
Very slow acceleration, no aero, drives like on rails with only 300 bhp. Basically the closest experience to a RL beginner Rallye car.
2015 Subaru Impreza B700
153 595 431
WRX Rallye engine swap. Thus, only for manual drivers. Very stable.
Peugeot 207 Super 2000 A800
100 855 958
Originated as a build for our Montana Rivals event it’s a very easy, beginner-friendly car that works perfectly with auto and is reasonably quick.
Porsche 959 RR A800
177 509 561
Manual + clutch only with the Porsche F6 engine swap. The wilder yet equally quick brother of the Peugeot. If you can manage manual with clutch it’s one I wholeheartly recommend.
Peugeot 205 T16 B700
150 260 535
Unfortunately rear aero is required here because it increases top speed and grip for whatever reason. Very high & soft it floats over the track.
2020 Defender B700
185 756 904
Stock engine, stock look because I like it. PI-inefficient engine. Expect no miracles but it’s a solid drive.
Porsche Macan RR B700
159 091 381
The oddball in the line-up. Unlike most shared tunes mine is Porsche F6 swapped. Too powerless for CC, too bouncy and high for Dirt the car is lost. BUT it is so much fun on Dirt I use it frequently and had to share it. An absolute favourite.
I will add some more once the expansion launches. All will be titled “Rallye Expansion” for easy navigation.
I really like the standard Quattro in B and A. I use it as often as I can, it sounds and drives so nice. The Quattro S1 E2 is my main S1 offroad car, along with a few others. This class in particular (S1) I hope anti-lag will help the most. I have so many cars that can’t detune to A and also just barely miss S1 900. I generally stick with legitimate rally cars and liveries, stock engine/drivetrain, but I will bring them to the top of whatever class at least. I have a lot of RWD (mainly escorts, buggies, etc) and FWD cars in B, mainly AWD and some FWD in A, and then only AWD in S1 and above. The only S2 cars I have really is the Hoonigan RS200 and the Hoonicorn when I’m bored. I don’t really like using supercars offroad unless there’s a precedent or history for that car or company (porsche/lambo/etc). I’d rather struggle with something authentic, hoonicorn aside since that’s mainly for the meme and nothing else to pick.
Lancia Integrale,Stratos,037 and Fulvia
Alfa Guilia GTA and TZ2
Pretty much my FH4 dirt team lineup, and now not in the game for a ‘Rally’ expansion, muppets.
FH4 even has the Talbot Sunbeam.
Really miss this gem.
True, I’ve just completed one of the seasonal championships in FH4, which reminded me how great little car this Talbot is!
